  1. How the hell did someone watching todays game decide that McHugh was Man of The Match? He shouldnt be in the starting eleven.
  2. Struggle to believe that Rodgers has no say in the valuation that Celtic have of another teams player.
  3. A comparison of two players appearances/goals between July and Dec 2017. Dembélé 21/10 Louis Moult 22/14. Yet Celtic want millions for Dembélé so I guess the computer they use to estimate a players value is well and truly broken, hence their pitiful offer for Carson.
  4. Guess who made this statement today? "It is too late in the window to lose one of our key players, so I can't envisage anyone going out. The arrogance of Brendan Rodgers, he thinks we should accept his derogatory last minute offer for Carson but he cant envisage losing Dembélé.
  5. 1954 League Cup Semi-final 9 Oct v East Fife 2-1, Kilmarnock & Bain scorers, Bain here with diving header. When did you last see a diving header? Celtic players 'diving' don't count!
  6. Can someone tell me how many 'Well fans were at the Betfred Cup Final?
  7. Do any other Motherwell fans despair like myself when they read comments like those made by AllyMax about another human being who has given our team and club faultless service in the short term with us?
  8. The first 23 minutes we were shocking and we gave them 3 goals, they didn't need to play any type of good football to go 3-0 up. The second half showed how poor Thistle are, they never threatened Griffiths (thankfully) and we were the better team in that half. The Thistle keepers time wasting started soon after the 3rd goal and I don't recall the referee talking to him about the delays. Our defeat wasn't the fault of the officials but they were weak. The linesman didn't put his flag up to indicate any infringement for our disallowed 'goal', he ran 18 yards away from the corner flag towards half way and only when the Thistle players complained to the referee did he go across to speak with his linesman. So the question is, what offence did he originally 'see' that he didn't wave his flag for but then decided was an offence? Personally I wouldn't have McHugh in the squad, he was woeful tonight at centre-half but even a decent midfielder should be able to move into that position and put on a better performance than he did. I would have Bigirimana in every time before McHugh, maybe even at any position before him. It irritates that we lost to a poor team who deserve to be in the bottom of the league and that same team scored 1/5th of their seasons goal tally in 23 minutes tonight! Minor moan now; I saw the fourth official warn Stephen Robinson about stepping outside the technical area by the length of his boots yet the vast majority of throw-ins were taken 5-10 yards from where they should have been, nothing new I know but it's something that I've watched happen regularly this season and very few get pulled up by the officials. Just watch the next game and see how bad the yard 'stealing' is. Yet another bad night onboard the claret & amber roller-coaster.
  9. So with the Record naming the wrong referee does that prove that Craig Thompson was an imposter posing as a referee. No change then.
  10. Big error in Daily Record today, theyve listed in the Winner Results section that the referee was John McKendrick.
  11. A week on Sunday we play Celtic in the Betfred Cup Final, rewind to 4 years ago next Thursday we lost 1-0 to Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup, another example of riding on the claret & amber roller coaster.
  12. Anyone know how many tickets the club had been allocated for Hampden in the South Stand, Sections O1 & O2? All sold out by 0945 hours on Tuesday.
  13. I believe the last time we won two away games in a row was season 2015-16. Away wins on 5th March to Hamilton Accies 1-0 followed by 2nd April Inverness CT 2-1. Between these games were two home wins over Dundee Utd and Aberdeen both by 2-1.
  14. If you want a laugh, have a read at this, they just keep on giving. forum.rangersmedia.co.uk
  15. Watch this and see if Alves knows what he's talking about when he moans about the physicality of Scottish football. Would appear he can dish it out but ....... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bfx9xSGBU98
  16. The first 45 minutes v Partick in November 1994 was possibly the best I've seen a Motherwell team play in 50+ years. We should have scored 7 in that half, beautiful quick accurate passing and flowing football. Paul Lambert was incredible in the game. So many great goals but the Colin O'Neal strike has to be the best individual one, regardless of the game/opposition.
  17. Watch Ryan Bowman when he's running towards the goal and Louis's lob goes in, Ryan holds both his hands up to his head in amazement at the quality of his teammates shot and can't believe it's gone in. Or he just realised that we were heading for the final.
  18. Inspired by thirdwell piece in Shoutbox, I thank him for that. Please spare a moments sympathy for poor wee Rangers, cause some big bad boys kicked and tackled them out of the Betfred Cup semi-final and they are no longer able to compete in the final where their birth right says they belong. This morning I have read the comments made by Rangers fans in the press. The vast majority have complained that the referee was a disgrace, that at least 3 Motherwell players should have been sent off and that dozens of Rangers fans had to attend at the nearby Victoria Infirmary after hearing the sound of one of their stars having his nose broken by Ryan Bowman. In my 60 years as a 'Well fan I’ve never felt more ashamed that we had the temerity to not lie down as is stated in the RFC Rule book and that The Glasgow Rangers are being victimised by the authorities, officials, opponents, ball boys, the weather, Louis Moult and other non-bigoted sensible thinking people of the world. I therefore urge that Motherwell, in fact all teams, that play Glasgow Rangers FC in future comply with this list: a) Do not tackle a Rangers player, especially any of South or Central American or Mediterranean descent. b) Do not jump for the ball, you must keep your arms by your side and your feet on the ground. c) Do not shoot in the direction of the Rangers goalmouth. d) Do not argue with the Rangers manager, because he is always in the right, he’s one of ‘ra people’. e) If it appears to an opponent that a Rangers player is a little tired/fatigued/bleeding it should be brought to the attention of the nearest official to have the game stopped so that said player may have a seat/tea/coffee/wet sponge and maybe a back rub. (Please note this rest period only applies to players of RFC, especially if things are not going their way). f) If you are a referee, linesman or fourth official you must remember RFC’s history and the part they have played in the life style of past officials. Or JUST GIRUT
  19. Do we now play Celtic 3 times in 7 days? Hampden on 26th Nov, Fir Park 29th Nov (postponed from 21st October) and Parkhead 2nd Dec.
  20. Useless Statistic; That's now 5 consecutive competitive games where the 'Well have scored 2 or more goals per game, 2 v Ross County, Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs, 3 v Aberdeen. 11 goals scored and 3 conceded. You have to go back to the last 7 games of Season 2012-13 to find the last time Motherwell scored 2 or more goals in 5 consecutive competitive games, and then it was an impressive run of 7 games. Hibs 4-1, Dundee 3-0, St Mirren 2-2, Dundee Utd 3-1, Celtic 3-1, Inverness 4-3 and Ross County 2-0. Let me know if I'm wrong.
  21. How did the referee manage to see 5 Motherwell players deserved yellow cards and only 1 Aberdeen player? He was ok in the first half but started to lose it early in the second.
  22. Stewart Milne, Willie Miller, Richard Gordon, Emeli Sande, Beachgrove Gardeners, can you hear me? You're team took a helluva beating tonight.
  23. Everyone in claret and amber tonight, plus the manager. Not often during a game do I feel that the result is never in doubt, but did tonight.
  24. The 1/4 final tie with Aberdeen now gives us 6 home games out of 7 between 19th Aug - 30 Sep.
