  1. From Mcghee's comments it would appear that he was approached by us rather than him applying for the job. That doesn't say much for the quality of the 80applicants we had despite what the board has said. If our rigorous selection comes up with him as the best candidate we really are in serious bother. How does his appointment sit with the club's commitment to developing a credible and productive youth system when he has no track record for this particularly given how important that is to the club's future? The amount of 'recycling' of former personnel is reaching ridiculous proportions. Are we really saying that that is the best sustainable way forward for us?
  2. Aberdeen. Failure. Bristol Rovers. Failure. Scotland. Failure. What an inspirational choice.
  3. We were dire today. Most of that squad could disappear tomorrow and would not be missed. There is no nucleus of a side and clearly no structure in place currently upon which things can be built on. Utterly depressing times with so far Hutchison's tenure being an unmitigated disaster.
  4. Well we won't have to worry about any knee jerk appointment with Leanne about. Then again given the nonsense she spouts perhaps we should be worried. Anyway given that she trailed the reason for Baraclough's departure with her comments about the players I look forward to her next pearls of wisdom to let us know who the new manager will be.
  5. Stop demonising the Well Bois. They have a perfectly legitimate grievance about how football fans are treated in this country.if they can't protest at their own club's ground about what is happening and get their support where exactly then is the proper place to do so? You seriously can not be suggesting that a fan running on the park on Tuesday necessitated over 25 police officers , 13 police vehicles and umpteen stewards to intervene. I don't recall seeing similar action taken at the Morton end where far greater number of fans ran on. Of course it did't take long for the pr department of the biggest gang in town to get in on the act. So 2 police officers allegedly received minor injuries. Of course it's not said how they actually occurred. Funny that. Could someone tell me what happened to the steward who clearly was escorted away by his colleagues and what caused that to occur? And yet we here we are going on about our fans. If you were drunk, shouted, swore and threatened someone in the pub would you get a 2 year banning order for that? A fixed penalty fine would be more likely. Frankly I wish the Heavy Hands campaign all the best in trying to get football supporters treated in a civilised manner.
  6. Paranoia. Conspiracy. I'm afraid that only exists in your imagination. I answered superward's question. You have singularly failed to respond to the detail of that. I made no comment on whether I agreed or otherwise with what Les is doing. As Les is fond of saying 'it's a hand up not a hand out'. If we don't step up and meet his conditions then we have no one to blame except ourselves and he will as he has said do what we he needs to recover his money You are extremely naive if you think at that point he won't seek to make a profit.
  7. Simple. If the Well Society only repays to him say £500k of the £1million he has injected then he doesn't require to transfer the club to them after 5 years since they have not repaid him in full. He is then free to sell it for whatever he can get. So if he sells it for £1million he has made £500k.
  8. If the Board can not see his time is well and truly up then they should join him in disappearing as soon as possible.
  9. And the excuses this week from his happy clappy fan club for Hammell's continuing presence in the team are?
  10. In response to the half time tune he should go. Today's 'performance' clearly demonstrated yet again that progress will only be made when he is rightlfully shown the door.
  11. It is plain to see that he never has been the answer. Still it would take us to actually be relegated before some on this forum accept that.
  12. Normal service resumed under Baraclough. Now that didn't take long to happen in a new season.
  13. 'Hammell the man'.You are having a laugh, right? A major contributor in the loss of both goals. The usual inept passing and poor positional play. His crossing is like that of a school kid who hits it in the middle hoping for the best with no awareness of where his teammates are. The sooner we get a decent left back the better.
  14. It was clear early on that Baraclough was the wrong choice. To those who lambasted that view and said give him time I trust you now feel suitably chastened.
  15. The vast majority of performances under his leadership have been dire. Similarly his signings. His tactics too. Likewise his substitutions. Relegation is a distinct possibility and even if avoided frankly his position is untenable.
  16. And it's now time to say goodbye to Mr Baraclough
  17. Having had plenty of time to significantly improve our chances of relegation I trust the Baraclough happy clappers are feeling particularly pleased with themselves tonight given their excellent judgement skills.
  18. I was one of those unfortunate souls who was at the game today. Baraclough has learned nothing from the mistakes he's been making since day 1. Good luck in trying to work out our tactics and strategy. No cohesion, movement , barely a pass or move all game and as for the substitutions. In short the usual inept performance under Baraclough. Positives? We're a day nearer his inevitable exit.
  19. Credit where credit is due. A far more organised and committed performance today. If only Sutton was a forward and McManus was a defender we might have got something out it.
  20. Unfortunately there are no clauses in the players contracts which would kick in if we are relegated which perhaps typifies how certain people mistakenly think we are a 'big' club and never learn from history.
  21. Those of us and admittedly it was one of our lowest ever supports at Parkhead, who were there tonight witnessed yet another utterly dismal , inept performance. It would have been made clear to Baraclough when he came in there would be little budget for activity during the transfer window and presumably he was able to convince the Board that he would be able to work with what we have and turn things round. Yet again he got absolutely nothing right in a game . People should stop continually berating players and look at the complete ineptitude of Baraclough so far with no signs whatsoever of any positive change in the foreseeable future. We are worse than when McCall left and aren't so much as sleepwalking into relegation but sprinting at full pelt to it.
  22. It's the manager who picks the team, the positions they will play , decides what our tactics are, the changes that are needed during the game and the substitutions required. In all of that there has been nothing positive whatsoever with Baraclough so far or anything to suggest that there will be . The reality of what we have witnessed to date has been 2 of the worst ever performances I have had the misfortune to see in watching Motherwell for over 40years. To do that with having only been in charge for so few games is quite an achievement. How can you therefore presume that he is capable of making the necessary changes that we all agree are needed? Never mind hope springs eternal.
  23. Having watched another performance of the highest ineptitude it's clear Baraclough has the attributes to be our worst manager ever.
  24. It will be the club not the Well Society who will repay Mr Hutchinson his money back. The press release states in relation to transfering the club to the fans that it will happen " provided there is clear evidence that more of the fan base is willing to support the initiative". If the Well Society was paying the money back then the transfer of the shares would surely be automatic and not subject to the foregoing provisio. Effectively the Well Society will have another 5 years to accumulate sufficient monies to demonstrate that they can properly fund the running of the club which to date unfortunately they have been unable to do. There is no guarantee that such a transfer will take place in the future.
