  1. Today was as woeful as I've seen in a while. We've got to bear in mind though the number of kids now in our starting eleven. Hopefully when Hammell returns and Ojamma gets back to pace we should see a slight improvement. The guy from Derby can't do any harm. What worries me most and frustrates the life out me is our lack of a vocal captain/leader on the park. I'm not wanting to hammer lasley but those kids needed guidance and vocal encouragement out there and he just doesn't do it. McManus is hugely experienced yet also maintains a fairly quiet aura around him. If we are gonna have to play loads of kids then they must, in my opinion, start putting across to the kids what we need. Lastly as a player must be told now to just sit and protect the defence and leave bombing forward to others. Numerous occasions now he bombs forward chasing the game and can't get back quick enough. ICT were more than deserving of their win today. Big improvements required from our guys. Passing the ball from a to b would be a good start.
  2. Pleased that we have added a couple of faces this week. A lot more upbeat for tomorrow
  3. I also would be disappointed if it seen the end of Erwin, however with our squad size I can't see it. Personally I'm much happier he's here to lend a hand till January than not have him.
  4. Can see the concern however with a 6 month loan the focus will still be getting the boys ready for the season run in. Just takes the pressure off them whilst gaining some more game time
  5. 6 months is decent. Will get us out a hole for a while..Hope he plays on Saturday
  6. No points, but in truth better than I expected. That could have been far worse in my opinion.
  7. I think most agree with this, yet most seem scared by the prospect. The truth is, cups aside, we have punched above our weight for years. We don't have the finance for anything else, so we must trust the manager and trust the boys themselves. If it takes a couple of years to reap anything from them then so be it. From my point of view I am willing to be patient and accept there will be some poor games. So long as it doesn't end in relegation, which I doubt it will.
  8. A draw which I think it will be, wouldn't be the worst result ever. Gets a point on the board and puts a few teams below us which calms things a tad
  9. Tuesday 5th August, 6pm, away to Hamilton at NDP.
  10. Cheers for recommendation. Can be hard to find a decent football related read. Best Ive read in a while is The Secret Footballer.
  11. For me I'm not expecting much this year. On our budget it's unreasonable to keep expecting high finishes and I think this will be the year it hits us. We may have to accept a position around 8th which for me isn't the end of the world. I'd like us to win a cup game or 2 and finish above accies.
  12. We are safely in top 6. Europe has not been worth it in terms of cash last few seasons. I'd like to see a few, without going mental, get a shot for a few games till the end of the season, particularly the young keeper. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  13. I've posted elsewhere about this. In my opinion we are doing something badly wrong, be it either poor timing etc of contract renewals or just giving in too easy regarding transfer negotiations. My example of this would be Dundee United getting £2m+ for David Goodwillie and us receiving approx £100k-£200k for Jamie Murphy. In this example its just not true that the SPL or whatever its called now are a complete soft touch. We have been sitting 2nd / 3rd in league for a few years now and not picked up a transfer fee worth mentioning in this time. Last year nearly a whole team leaving and us not picking up anything. Needs seriously looked at.
  14. Yes I got one though it was a bit vague.
  15. I think one of the biggest issues we have (apologies if someone has mentioned it) is our policy of contract renewal and thus getting nothing as players contracts run out. Take the summer, Randolph, Hateley, Humphries, Law and Higdon all getting to the point where we leave and we get £0. I understand that wages etc are an issue to the club, however when you consider that a club like Dundee United can seemingly quite regularly receive payments of around a million, or over £2m for someone like goodwillie. I cant remember ever getting a decent fee for a player and this must be looked at. The cup runs have also been shocking like everyone has said.
  16. Season ticket prices are good if you can make the games, given that spl clubs are happy to shaft fans and change times with no consideration for the guys handing money over. Prices for match tickets in Scottish football are shocking for what's on offer.
  17. Sums it up perfectly. All playing and coaching staff should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. One team turned up wanting to win. One team didn't turn up, yet expected to win.
  18. Granted I've only made 4 games this year, but I have to say the quality of play has been dreadful at the ones I've been to. Today the worst. I text my mate before game and said it looked like the players couldn't be bothered. For me it was clear that they expected to turn up and win automatically. That I find disgusting and unacceptable. I'm still for Stuart McCall. He works with little/no resources and we must bear that in mind. I can cope with defeats. I expect something in return for my hard earned, that's all. Some players can't cut it and that needs addressing.
  19. I'll not renew but I will PATG for the games which are attractive. I enjoy going to all Saturday games, and am more than likely to attend then, same with Sunday fixtures but I hate midweek evenings in the middle of winter and am of an age where Id be happier in the living room after work that trailing to a baltic stadium to suit TV. I would hope people dont chuck it completely but for me I just dont want it taken for granted that administrators take my money for granted. i want the system/product to be decent.
  20. Its just Doncaster and his muppets have gave the impression this is the only option. There are other considerations but you get the impression someone wants to make a name for themselves by implementing the craziest thing possible.
  21. Look folks, everyone is gonna have different views on it. As Ive said previously I don't like the proposals and will watch next year in stages before dishing in hundreds of £s on season books which at present I dont exactly have spare. For those at the meeting today I would be interested to know what the clubs response was to how they would price season books with there being a possibility of playing in different leagues in the same season? Also their plans to get punters back through the gates (the main problem in scottish football)? or is it a case of crossing fingers and praying for a miracle Just asking before anyone starts taking huge offence
  22. And there lies the problem with scottish football... Its finished
  23. Best case playing same teams over and over and over and over and over again Worst case having a bad start then playing out season against 1st div clubs, after paying money to see prem league Be cracking that no ones gonna moan about this
