This ^.. Exactly this ^

Hes clearly capable of sticking his boot through the ball and grab a goal, but Im in the camp where I think hes been a passenger the last few games. If hes not scoring hes useless. Ojamma whilst not scoring puts in 4 or 5 times the work Higdon does, and whilst not scoring the contribution to the team is immense. Im pretty sure thats the reason hes been subbed, purely ran himself into the ground. I think Higdon will get chances on Saturday, but if hes showing nothing again I'd have him off after 50 minutes and give McHugh and Ojamma some time together to see what they can do.

Key points for me- Refereeing was dreadful That was not a 4-0 game (even although it was) If Higdons not in scoring form then hes useless, tonight he was this For me Murphy goes hiding, and I think his good games are few and far between. For me, we need to scrap this 2 wide players nonsense and get the middle and defence solid until confidence returns. Ojamma up on his own, he can work his arse off. Im still totally behind McCall, I don't understand why folk want managers sacked everytime a team gets beat, but it is becoming frustrating at times. Taking Ojamma off when he did pi$$ed me off, and like others have mentioned I wouldn't be upset if Kenny Black done a runner. Failure follows the man.

^This^ Also I'd be happy with a point.

I've just managed to get on and read the comments for the first time. Was really annoyed after the game but hey ho after a few days perspective starts to take over. I really hope the number of people having a pop at McCall are only doing so in a vent of frustration. I can acknowledge that he isn't perfect, but we also have to realise that his job is far from easy and overall he is doing a fantastic job. We've been beaten by the old firm in the past week. Both have resources that Stuart would kill for, and I include Rangers in that. When was the last time we shelled out decent money on someone? If memory serves me right before a ball was kicked this season this message board was full of people hoping to avoid a relegation battle. Fast forward 8 games and people think we should be beating Celtic and the manager is a moron because we couldn't beat a team with resources far superior to ours. Oh yeah and we have dropped to 2nd in the league as a result. Lets just keep some perspective folks. We are a fairly small club and on occassions punch above our weight. I still maintain for us to finish top 6 is a fantastic achievement. Get behind McCall!!! I do however agree that we are gagging for a leader on the park, preferably someone of an intimidating nature to our players and the opposition. Unfortunately we have no money to buy someone. Therefore we must be patient with the boys we have.

It was always going to be a battle and Im not sure the players deep down accepted this. The Rangers players were clearly more up for it and I dont think anyone could argue that. Personally I thought some fans were expecting us to turn up and scud them because of their inept start. In my mind I was 50/50 on how the game would go. I believe we are a better footballing side that them and still do Whats fairly obvious though is we dont have any big game players. Someone whos been there and done it. Rangers do. Even in their shambolic state they have players who played in a UEFA cup final a few years ago, players with multiple international caps, players with champions league experience. We are crying out for someone like that, even if hes 35 years old. Im not so much gutted we lost the game, but gutted that we never turned up to give them a game. I'm not one though who blames McCall. I believe he gives 100% to the task. The media are always going to play on the fact he played for them. Most of us have probably been around long enough to realise that unless your Celtic or Rangers then the press don't really give a feck. The players have just got to get on with it now. Theres no better chance to prove themselves than Celtic on Saturday. Sleeves rolled up this time though please.

Yep it has a huge hint of talking shite about it. "know a guy" = Completely made up.

But has he?

Was gonna take my son. Actually dont think there will be any grief of a physical nature but will give it a miss just incase. Infact the money saved will fund his new 3rd kit when his size eventually gets in the shop, that way he's happy, the shops happy and I still get to see it on TV. Regarding the ticketing, I would like to think that Charles Green & co would be looking to try and obtain some credibility and go about their business like every other club would. Im pretty sure it will be a lot of sh*te and they will conduct themselves respectfully, even if they have wanted to shaft SPL clubs behind the scenes. I get the feeling from talking to folk, that a win would see us as everyones 2nd favourite team. On this occassion the country is behind us. BE POSITIVE!!

I am in agreement with a lot of folk. Personally I thought a draw was a fair score but was absolutely gutted losing the 2 points the way we did. I would make some points though. I thought we were the better team by far in the first half, but we must find a way of getting that second goal. Its the old cliche but one goal is never enough, as we found out today. St. Mirren were a bit too keen to get a right hard tackle in and the ref done nothing to control the game, particularly pushes etc on Higdon. In saying that we weren't slow in getting a tackle in ourselves. Talking of Higdon my observation would be that if we are going to hit balls to him, there needs to be more support closer to him. As for the scuffle near the end, heres my observations. I sit in the Cooper. I didnt see any contact between the players and I think from the reaction of our players I dont think any other of the guys did either. Hutch was clearly angry. The physio was clearly telling him to shut it on a few occassions, he didn't and earned himself a booking. At the time I was raging but on reflection and in the perfect world he would have kept his mouth closed. He looked like a guy at that point who wanted a piece of Thompson in return. McCall was obviously furious with him, and after the sendings off I cant blame him. Anyway the ref just seemed to fall to pieces from this point on. The bounce up scenario was a farce, and I didn't think the 2nd yellow was warranted but I think Hutchinsons reaction at the first incident never done him any favours. I for one will be glad in a way when the european adventure ends. Today we tiredin the second half. All things considered though its another point. 4 league games undefeated in amongst european games should have us in relatively positive mood.

We won't be winning this one, I'm afraid. Gotta hope for a respectable score, reasonable pricing and a great home turn out, then I think most of us will be happy.
-
Mad to think we should be worrying. 2 games and 2 points. Whilst not setting the world on fire its not the worst ever. Midfield to front is lacking a bit of class. No great passes and no great movement means it was a bit stale. No player stood out for me as being the culprit nor the best player. In fairness though the boys fought back extremely well, when it looked beyond them, and must take credit for that. In saying that, what frustrated me today more than anything was Randolphs distribution under no pressure. Has to improve in my opinion. Went home fairly happy though.

Away from the real danger of relegation. Competing in all the games. Decent run in one of the cups. As said above, anything better is a bonus.
-
Sorry if I've blatantly missed it, but whats the deal with prices etc for this one?
-
Is anyone else of the opinion that a broadcaster may well come in to the sfl as some sort of viewing to watch Rangers in the lower leagues. Lets be honest its a once in a lifetime scenario, and probably for a while there would be some interest in it. If so the SFL clubs may well do alright out it. In my opinion I'd say its an absolute certainty that sky will come back with a derogitory offer to the SPL. The audience down south are only interested in the old firm games and sky will know it. What was interesting though was someones figures earlier: Heres my thoughts/idea- If you think us with sky sports pay £252 per year to have it, that would take 71500 people to cancel for sky to lose their £18m. However if fans gave the money to the clubs by way of buying an extra strip, going to a few extra games, a day in hospitality etc the money would find its way back to the clubs, and without relying on their blackmail, or playing games on stupid days and times. Not sure thats been worded greatly or thought out 100% but you'll get the idea. The biggest problem is we all enjoy other things on sky sports, personally losing the EPL and La Liga would be a pain, but I would do it.

The price is the price, the club are entitled to try and get a few quid in. Thats fair enough. I don't though understand selling tickets for a game where a) we don't know who we are playing, and b) the date that we are playing against the unknown team BIZARRE to me.
-
A fans account similar to that of the rangers fighting fund. I'd happily pop a few quid in with regularity, and am sure many others would.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
dmacd1 replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
I agree 100% with everything you've said. Whilst not committing themselves totally, and rightly so with lack of complete info, I did get the impression that they would head in the no camp. -
I totally understand that. Scottish football is a frustrating place for a number of reasons. I just feel sorry (in a way) for club owners who had nothing to do with Rangers downfall and are now on the verge of fighting their own fans as a result of it. Personally I hope the clubs do show a strong backbone. But it is just a 'hope'.

Well I've just bought my first season ticket, at the request of my boy Davie Cooper stand here we go!!!! Cracking value me thinks. I know theres all this stuff going on with Rangers, and as just a casual fan who enjoys popping along to games here there and everywhere, I can understand people may feel let down in certain circumstances, but punishing your own club seems strange to me. Clubs always make decisions that fans dont agree with, but generally folk just get on with it. The folk making decisons rightly or wrongly are making the decision based on whats right for their own clubs. Anyway hoping for a good season, hoping my son takes to the Well and avoids the nonsense delivered at other places.
