  1. Is it any wonder that some of the players don't care for the club, and by extension, the paying fans? This is surely a consequence of the model that the club has adopted. Our biggest selling point seems to be that we can put them in the shop window so that they can further their careers. So, we have short-term contracts and loans. It has nothing to do with playing for the Jersey and wanting Motherwell to be successful. It is all about the individuals now, not the team. The guys that seem to care are those that have an affinity for the club; Campbell, Grimshaw and Watt. Campbell may have lost some of his mojo, but so would anyone after battling alone in midfield for so long.
  2. If it takes a month to find the right person it is going to leave the new guy a mountain to climb. I honestly don't see where the next point is coming from.
  3. I was just thinking that earlier today. How different it may have been if there were fans there either encouraging or getting on their backs. There would have been some reaction from the players, and it certainly wouldn't be any worse than where they have taken us now.
  4. I agree, they are good enough for the league. If Dunne can get fit, he'd also be good enough. Long also has enough talent, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to want to play for Motherwell, but if that was down to the management and his attitude changed for the better, he'd be a good partner to Watt.
  5. The biggest concern that I have is that there are no signs that this team can turn this around. We are all aware that they are technically poor, but some of that can be overcome with desire and determination. I just don't see it in this team, and I think that tonight, Robinson's body language was one of defeat. He looked deflated when on camera. The team is low in confidence and it looks like the manager has run out of ideas. Very much like the end of McCall's era. Some of the players are very capable at this level, but we are not getting anything near their best at this point. They need a change to get them back on track.
  6. This game is gone. Need to shore it up and not lose any more. A third will quickly become a fourth.
  7. Gallagher has been excellent again. What a tackle.
  8. Well, this isn't looking promising. Yet again we are relying on the forwards to create chances for themselves. There is nothing creative from this midfield. Polworth is worse than a passenger. At the moment I just can't see where the required goal or two will come from.
  9. Lanie and O'Hara passing has been awful.
  10. 15 mins gone and after a bright start it has been flat for 5 mins. Polworth not involved at all. He needs to get involved and make things happen.
  11. Watt for his effort. Cole did well when he came in, seemed to inject a bit of pace. Defence were solid but difficult to pick one of them as standouts.
  12. I hope that you are right, but I didn't see anything tonight to suggest that this team will be going upwards.
  13. For me the defending is far too late in the opposition build up. Too much of the pitch is surrendered and there is no pressure on the ball preventing crosses or some quick passing around the edge of our box. Almost inevitably this leads to having to make last ditch blocks or tackles. I'd much rather defend from the front.
  14. I'll take point from that. Motherwell truly are a side going backwards. I don't recall Lewis having to make a save all night. The old adage is true, if you don't shot you don't score. Dreadful performance, though there has been much worse this season. No entertainment value at all. Just glad that I didn't have to go to Fir Park on a cold December night to watch it.
  15. If he is the best that we have at Fir Park then we don't have a football team.
  16. Better from Motherwell, but Polworth is a terrible finisher.
  17. When Polworth holds his hand up before taking a setplay is it an apology before he takes it?
  18. No pressure on the ball in our third. Inviting Aberdeen to put useful balls into the box.
  19. Time and time again we send long, high, hopeful balls to the front guys to be swallowed up by the Aberdeen back line.
  20. Something needs to change or this is heading for another defeat.
  21. A very poor first 15 mins of the 2nd half from Motherwell.
  22. The first touch of practically every Motherwell player is abysmal.
