    Standing

I don't think a few guys quietly standing up the back are going to cause mayhem and lead to fines. Behave yersel'....

    Billy Dodds

If we don't win on saturday, Billy Dodds will look like a top-drawer pundit and everyone on this thread will look like an idiot. Save the wailing and knashing of teeth for after we've done the business.
  3. Is superward Peter Ward? If so, do you love karaoke?
  4. I was in the Cooper before the h**s game, but the pints were peesh! Call it constructive criticism. Will still let you buy me one though - as long as you're not pouring it!

    Stewart Kerr

I don't really have an opinion of Stewart Kerr, but Michael Fraser is murder polis. Anybody who can't see that really hasn't got a clue.
  6. That could also be what I'm thinking about. Cheers for that.
  7. I still stand by my point that you're a diddy.
  8. I like a pint, but not in the Cooper. Would be aswell filling a glass with fatcalfs bath water than have a pint of lager out of the there.
  9. Billy Davies and George Burley were quality players for Motherwell, and Nijholt and Lambert have had a reasonable success for young managers. In short, you're talking pish. Ya diddy.
  10. Just done a wee bit of digging there. In a way, we're both right. Van Der Gaag was a youth player with PSV, but seemingly they have some "co-operation agreement" set-up with Second Division FC Eindhoven which seems to be similar to a feeder club idea where they can swap players about. Van Der Gaag was under contract to FC Eindhoven when he signed for us, but I suppose you could say he was a PSV player since he could basically be called to play for them at any time. Don't think he ever did play for their first team though.
  11. We didn't get Van Der Gaag from PSV. It was some other Eindhoven mob, I'm fairly sure. The Partick Thistle of Holland, if you like.
  12. Owen Coyle is another obvious present-day one.
  13. Could you not have called it, the "Fir Park Corner"? That would have had a much better ring to it...

    Co-op Draw

Pretty much what I expected. Not outstanding in either direction.

    Co-op Draw

    Aye, we know. Keep up...

    50/50

Are you Mark McGhee in disguise??
  17. Who decides who does the half time draw? And are they taking the piss? Mark Hateley on Tuesday, then the police chief on Saturday - fair enough if these guys were being wheeled out in gallows to get rotten fruit launched at them, but the way the tannoy guy announces them looking for a round of applause in cringeworthy. I also suspect the folk who did clap are the ones who can't hear on the dodgy PA system who it is!
  18. Why would we be making monkey noises at players? We had three black players on the park yesterday.

    Song

Apparently it's called "Maria" by Scooter. Steaua Bucharest run out to it and I think that's how it's caught on with the 'Well.
  20. Jay and bigcol are spot on. We got done today, and he rubbed it in. Quite right too.
  21. That's the problem with the title though - I don't think people believe for a second that Leann Montgomery has told the stewards to be heavy handed and out of order, but she is supposedly in charge so the buck stops with her, same as any other walk of life unfortunately. However, what I would say in her defence is, despite the pages of grumbling on here, I doubt there's been one letter in her pigeonhole over this so it's unreasonable to expect anything to change.
  22. He just never puts a foot wrong in the press, does he? Imagine McGhee was in the same situation and asked the same questions. Mutley could learn a lot from Gannon in that respect.
  23. I am wholeheartedly behind standing at the football. However, because the end section of the East Stand is full of wee boys who seem to only want to do it to cause confrontation and feel mental for a wee while, it'll never get widespread backing from the Motherwell supporters, whether we like it or not. Guys like Decal may sound like he's being a bit condescending, but the points he make are valid and are shared by (in my opinion) the majority of the East Stand. Guys like me, MelvinBragg, etc standing in the back couple of rows don't bother anyone, but it seems like the crowd down the far end just want to push it all the time. If the club/stewards/police/whoever announced that it was now perfectly acceptable to stand at the football, then these folk would take it upon themselves to do the bouncy for ninety minutes, and then moan about it when they're told to stop. They will always push it further, because a lot of them are motivated by showing off to their mates and bragging at school about getting chucked out the fitba, and it ruins it for the rest of us.
  24. Well, yer no'. And naw. Conversation over. Gimp.
