Well, if the fans groups (not just the Trust) aren't consulted, then there's no point in having a fans charter. But having a fans charter (and not breaching it!) is part of the clubs SFA license that they must have to operate as a football club. Frazzle

I really don't want to get involved in this debate as I genuinely want to be seen to be supportive of the changes that are happening for the better in the club, but my only gripe with what you've said there is that the fans charter was amended without consultation with the relevant organisations, which is a breach of the charter in itself. I suppose that's irrelevant to the strip but I felt it was worth mentioning. MFC now has a better team on the park, a good manager, a better brand of strip, a great club shop, better communication from the fans, and a whole load of other improvements to things we've all been moaning about, but there are still a few things left to be desired. However, Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm happy with the direction the club is moving in just about every way, so don't take my point about the charter as mud-slinging. I just felt it should be pointed out. Frazzle
  3. Thanks 'Flow. Suspected that would be the case but it's not a hassle. Cheers. Frazzle

As much as I like the teasers, it was better when SCDave was a rebel and camera-phoned it online... Frazzle
  5. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but can you buy a first-time season ticket online if you want to pay it up monthly, or do you need to go in? Frazzle

I've already defended the marketting idea before, but there's actually something else I like about it now that I've seen the latest sneaky peak - it's making me spot things I probably wouldn't have before. What I mean is, if someone showed me a full photo of the new strip, then asked me a week or two later what the collar was like, I'd struggle to tell them, but seeing it this way makes you pay more attention to detail as you try to piece it together in your mind. Good job. Frazzle
  7. Aye, I agree. As much as I like Darren Smith, he's not an SPL player and reckon he could do a right good turn for someone at a slightly lower level. On the Dougie Imrie thing, I've played football with him a few times and has always seemed like a decent guy to me. He got a load of bad press for ending the career of the Hamilton boy (McCabe?) while at Clyde but I was talking to him a couple of days after the game and he was clearly cut up about it himself. I'm not sure if that's the reason why people hate him, but I'd be delighted if he signed for the 'Well. Frazzle

I actually quite like the split. Obviously I wish we didn't have it this season as it's ruined our chances of getting into Europe properly, etc, but it did add a bit of excitement to the St Mirren game (pre split). It's not the split's fault that Motherwell made a total arse of it and didn't turn up on the day. Frazzle

I think if the club had made it £1 to get in last night, the attendance wouldn't have been above 4000. Apathy, and better games on TV, killed it stone dead. Frazzle
  10. I think, to be fair, when you subscribe to a weekly newsletter, you must expect that the majority of it is going to be interviews, quite simply because there isn't news every week. Some fanaticals will be interested in reading an exclusive interview every week. Some won't. If you were expecting to be seeing new signings, etc unveiled in the newsletter before it appears elsewhere then I think you were a bit niave. I'm subscribed to it, but I must admit I don't really read them. Frazzle

That's true, we don't. Anyway, does anyone have a wee pic of the preview from last night they could post up? Frazzle

Ah, right. I thought you were saying that claret shorts only looked good with a white top, which I disagreed with. Turns out we kinda agree with each other anyway. I'd be happy enough with most combinations I think, but I just don't like amber shorts with any colour of top. Frazzle

Well, that's the current Motherwell strip! I think claret shorts and an amber top looks fine. Amber shorts with almost any colour of top looks rank in my opinion. Frazzle

I much prefer white shorts for the home strip, and claret shorts for the away. As well as looking the best, it means I can mix-and-match for fives. Frazzle
  15. I don't think he dived as such, Mr Diggle, but it looks like he was pretending to be injured to either get the play stopped or to take the heat off himself for making an arse of it. If it was another teams player, I suspect I wouldn't be the only one saying that. Frazzle
  16. It was a shocker to be fair, but I thought it was Brian McLean. Frazzle
  17. We don't need them - we have a 24 man squad as you know, but always the more, the merrier as far as I'm concerned! You know our team's as much social as anything else so a couple more 'Well fans is fine by me. Especially if they can play in your position better than you can! Frazzle
  18. Similar-ish. We have a 16-team league, with each team playing each other twice. The idea is that our fixtures co-incide with Motherwells, so we'll play against our Hearts counterparts (Real Maroon) when the 'Well are at Tynecastle. When the 'Well are up against a team who don't have a fans team in our league, we play one of the other teams make it tie in with the afternoon game (eg, 'Well at Rugby Park, we go and play Ayr). It's good because we have freedom over our fixtures, which means we don't play when Scotland are playing or on Scottish Cup days so we can have a day on the bevvy. If anyone likes the sound of that, and can train on a Monday night, drop me a pm. All 'Well fans welcome. Frazzle
  19. Thanks for your ever-valuable input. Frazzle
  20. There is at least one FPC player playing in the game, aye. Just drop me a pm on here anytime if you want a game. Cheers. Frazzle
  21. Erm....Nope. Nah, don't think so. Pretty sure it was a full-strength team! Frazzle
  22. Yep, about as regular as a lunar eclipse, but well worth the wait! Frazzle
  23. Motherwell fans team FirParkCorner FC were crowned Merseyside Supporters Tournament winners 2009 at the annual competition held at Tranmere Rovers' Prenton Park on Monday. The only Scottish side involved weren't the bookies favourite to progress, having been drawn alongside the last three winners of the competition in the group stages. The first match, versus the holders Rochdale, was a tough battle with the Steelmen eventually emerging with a 2-1 win thanks to a first half penalty from Peter Tait and a late winner from David Fraser. Liverpool provided the next opposition for the troops in claret and amber, and a tight 0-0 draw was played out before the final group match against West Brom which resulted in a comfortable 2-0 victory for the Lanarkshire side thanks to a header from Davie Tonner and a Peter Tait free-kick. The semi-final against Burnley was to be the heaviest scoreline of the day, with top-scorer Peter Tait bagging a hat-trick in a 4-0 win. The other strike, goal of the day, came from the boot of veteran striker Davie Tonner with an excellent turn and hit from long range. With the depleted side through to the final, legs were tired but confidence was high as the 'Well side came up against a Rochdale outfit that had already been put to the sword in the group stages. However, fatigue was starting to show and the final was a much tighter, nervy affair. Craig Anderson gave the 'Corner a second half lead but, with one hand on the trophy, FPC were dealt a cruel blow as Rochdale hit a dramatic late equaliser to send the tie to penalties. Motherwell stopper Steven Glenny saved the first Rochdale spot-kick to settle the nerves and conversions from Davie Tonner, Scott Brazil and Gary Wilson put FPC in the driving seat. However, there was more drama to come as Scott Anderson blazed his kick over the bar to make it 3-3 after four spot-kicks apiece. Steven Glenny was the hero for the 'Corner once more as he made an excellent saved to his right to hand the reliable Peter Tait the chance to convert for glory. He did just that and the celebrations began. With the first piece of silverwear in the bag, FPC will now be looking to kick on and secure their first ever league title come the end of the season.
  24. Aye, it is a shame. He'll be difficult to replace for his work ethic alone. I know this is entirely pointless, but if anyone fancies taking up the gauntlet then get in touch. Cheers. Frazzle
  25. Phil resigned last week. Frazzle
