  1. I was just about to say that. If you select 'Programme Only' then you can't vote. Frazzle
  2. You don't seem to hold that opinion when it comes to the Trust... Frazzle
  3. Naw - we're going to post up a picture of one of their arms. Tomorrow lunchtime you'll get a set of ears. By dinnertime we'll throw in a couple of receding hairlines and that should guarantee the place will be packed out. Frazzle
  4. "With the seven-substitute rule, we often end up with players on the bench who have not earned that privilege and who have no right to be there. These often are the very players the crowd think can be the cavalry."
  5. You obviously don't know him as well as I do... Frazzle
  6. The Phoenix on the Wednesday night was absolutely awesome. Even on the Tuesday night it was excellent, as half a dozen 'Well fans scared away the regulars with dancing on the tables. And the march to the ground is something I will never forget. Best trip there will ever be, bar none. Frazzle
  7. I don't think that's true. The Trust want the club and the fans to communicate better - we've been saying that for years. I'm not displeased at the club correcting wrongs - quite the opposite - but when it's the same people making the wrongs as fixing them, I won't go OTT with praise. However, the vast majority of measures taken by the current chief executive have been positive and also the way that she has gone about it in terms of constantly communicating with the fans, etc has met with nothing but approval from me. I would also go as far as to say that Leann Dempster is possibly the most open, honest and clued-up member of MFC staff I've ever spoken to (no disrespect to anyone else when I say that) and I'm genuinely positive about the direction that she will take the club in. What I will admit is that, as a result of all the positive stuff happening at the club, it will make it more difficult for the Trust to attract members. It's no secret that our membership numbers soared when the club was in crisis, and began to dwindle when the club was back on a sound financial footing. However, what I can identify that perhaps past MST board members can't is that Motherwell Football Club is a helluva lot more important than the Motherwell Supporters Trust, so I'm quite happy with the situation at the moment. I hope that clears it up for the cynics! Frazzle
  8. I'm not going to do either of those things. As a Trust board member, I'll promote the organisation when appropriate, and as a Motherwell fan posting on a forum, this is where I'll let off steam, which is the exact purpose of the forums if I'm not mistaken. If you're trying to claim that you have chosen not to join the Trust because of my own personal opinion on matters of no relevance to the Trust, then it's a shame, but I won't lose any sleep over it. I honestly don't think I could say or do anything to make you sign up. Frazzle
  9. That is absolute nonsense. I don't even know what you're on about when you talk about press exclusives, but it's miles wide of the mark. I think I've posted a lot more positive stuff on here about Leann Dempster and the office staff at the club than I have negative over the last few months, but I judge cases on their individual merits. There's too many posters on here who decide that they like an individual ('Flow being the most obvious example) and then just wax lyrical everytime he announces something. I'm afraid you can spin it any way you like, but making an arse of something, reaping the benefits of it for a wee while, then changing it back does not merit praise in my book. Maybe I'm just harder to please than others. Also - don't judge the Trust on what I say. We have a Motherwell Supporters Trust log-in for that. There would be no members left if everyone took my ramblings as the Trusts official stance on things. Frazzle
  10. Yeah, I agree on the whole and, while there's people on here who will criticise the club no matter what, there's also a core of people equally as mindless who will lavish undue praise willy-nilly. They made a mess, realised it and fixed it - probably made a few quid out of it in between times - I don't think that deserves praise. But aye, on the whole the club is doing well off the field and I'll always give credit where it's due but I just feel in this case that it isn't. Frazzle
  11. Don't think that much credit is due for this particular move. If I shat on your lawn, then came back and cleaned it up a couple of months later, would you give me a big pat on the back? Frazzle

    Get A Grip

It was Donald Ford - even I know that! Frazzle
  13. I genuinely can't understand why any big teams like the Old Firm would want him. He's been an under-performing player in an under-performing team all season. No two ways about it. Some of the posts on here have got a touch of the 'Golden Boy' vibe about them. The St Mirren game on saturday and Ibrox the week before, people are on here saying he created everything and was our driving force - the fact is you could count our attempts on goal on one hand between the two games, so I find it difficult to understand where his plaudits as an attacking midfielder are coming from. Frazzle
  14. If and when he leaves Motherwell, he will become meaningless to me. I wouldn't wish any misfortune on him, but I wouldn't particularly wish him any great success. To be fair, the clubs that will be looking for a creative midfielder during the summer would surely see him as second choice after Andy Dornan anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was here for another season. Accies Away

As much as I'm in a rage over saturdays performance, there is every chance I'll be at all five games after the split. As someone mentioned about St Mirren is decent for a day on the bevvy and quite accessible by train. For me, it depends on what FPC are doing that day as to whether I go or not. I've never seen Motherwell at New Douglas Park before so will almost certainly be at that one to tick it off the list, and Falkirk is the opposite - I've never missed a 'Well game at that ground and, while they have mostly been shite and cold, I wouldn't like to break that because I was in a huff. Frazzle
  16. What an ignorant, arrogant tosser he really is. As I've said before, nomatter what he does in his time at Motherwell, if he were to walk into Jack Daniels in 40 years time, he wouldn't get a reception anywhere near what guys like Terry Butcher or even Billy Davies would get from the 'Well fans, because he obviously doesn't care about our club - only about himself. I don't want him sacked - he's doing a good enough job, but he's just not a likable character. Frazzle
  17. Sorry to dredge this up but I just noticed it. We only had one shot on target in this game, and it wasn't from Hughes, so what was he the 'driving force' behind? Keeping the ball for 10/15 minutes doesn't matter a jot when you're 2-0 down. If we score two in the first five minutes on saturday, St Mirren can pass it amongst themselves in the centre circle for the rest of the afternoon as far as I'm concerned. Frazzle
  18. It is a nightmare, that sort of thing. That's why I only pull burds at the Megabar... Frazzle
  19. Melvin, you start this pish every year. Sort yersel' oot big man, or you'll be pushing a pram round a shopping centre on a saturday afternoon! Frazzle
  20. It was looking a bit better after the break it had there, but the Cup game at your place proved that whether it's a plush meadow or a swamp, games between Motherwell and St. Mirren are usually absolutely rank. I just hope we get the result to get us into the Top Six and maybe pull in a few of the 'floating voters' for next season. Frazzle

    St Mirren V Hibs

Obviously all eyes will be on our game, but assuming we do the business, we should be keeping an eye on Tannadice because if Killie can win there, and Celtic don't slip up, there will only be 3 points between 4th, 5th and 6th after the split, with everyone obviously having to play each other. However, if Utd take the points on saturday, six could be too much of a gap with five games to go when you consider the games against the Old Firm are write-offs. Frazzle
  22. We're lucky in a way. The goalie is already replaced. Klimpl is a better replacement for Malcolm and, as Malky says, McLean can replace Reynolds (also better if he stays injury-free). Worst case scenario is that Hughes (the least effective of our first choice midfield this season) is away, our defence is improved, and we've a million quid in the hippy. If we use that to sign a replacement for Hughes and a striker then we're laughing. Frazzle
  23. No, I'm not doing a "You'll be Anglian to know the new sponsor" line. You already know that if I know something, I'll just say it without messing about. It just can't possibly be that campaign as it's been dead in the water for ages. I'd love to say it's all because of the Trust - and I do genuinely think we played a part - but the cynical side of me says that it's just turned out to have been the wrong decision in the first place. So, no inside knowledge from me - I'm just delighted with yet another sign of progress from the club in recent times. I'll be interested to see if this thread gets as many posts as the one that was on the old site when the Cooper Stand was taken away. I strongly doubt it! Frazzle
