  1. I like Buzz, and I think he's the type of guy we really need to be holding onto if we want McGhee to stay. Hughes could end up, like Porter, too expensive for us to keep and that's fine, but Buzz isn't going to be getting offerred £10k per week elsewhere so we should do our best to keep him as the gaffer obviously rates him. If he stayed, with Fraser competing for the jersey, it may well improve him even further and we could end up getting a very decent amount of money for him in a year or two, with a replacement already in position.
  2. He's thinking about doing tickets for £3, with the ticket entitling you to a free drink any night the following week. A bit of a money-making scam, but also to control the crowd. He's limiting it to 450, regulars only, after the Italy game when it was taking half an hour to get served at the bar and folk were passing out. Thankfully I was at the game and it had died down to bedlam by the time I got back. Frazzle
  3. Spot on, Andy. I expect that The Cooper Suite will be pretty empty unfortunately. Fair looking forward to watching it in Daniels though. Frazzle

I think if it was, most people would be delighted but, let's be honest - it's not. Frazzle
  5. I'm led to believe he's already gone. Frazzle
  6. That's us fucked tomorrow then... Frazzle
  7. That's a fair point, Andy. What I would say is that, maybe guys like yourself reading the good feedback might decide to go to the next one and give the away game a miss. I certainly can't remember the last time I enjoyed an away game as much as I enjoyed last night. It is a shame that it had to be a midweek event though - like our do in the Civic last year - because I am nursing a shocking hangover today. Frazzle
  8. Yep, pretty sure that's what he said MJ. However, I reckon the testimonial committee or whoever's organising it would veto that as it would be a pish turnout. Frazzle
  9. Great player, and seems like a great guy. Hope he makes a tidy wedge from it. Frazzle
  10. Absolutely great night. I was totally blotto by the end up. Here's to many more like it. Frazzle PS - To whichever mod changed my post, just be mindful that not everyone is as good natured as myself and you could end up getting yourself into bother. As it was, the evening was probe-free, mores the pity!
  11. How the fuck did that happen?!?! Frazzle
  12. Sounds like a good night. Plenty of guys there for me to scope......

    Mst Open Meeting

The club are fully aware that the Pitch In! fund is in place, but I think they're holding off on that due to the big secret move to the new stadium. I could well be wrong though. I think what Dodge is saying in essence is right, and someone was saying something along the same lines at the meeting. We need a cause to get people interested, to get the blood pumping, but I don't think we can just make one up. Obviously the Phil O'Donnell night at the Civic was nothing to do with the Trust, but when we (meaning myself and Phil, not the MST) were organising it, everyone rallied round and got right behind it because it was clearly a cause that people were passionate about. Unfortunately (well, forunately of course but you know what I mean in the context), these things don't come around very often. I'm sure if the club went into administration again, or were bought over by dodgy Lithuanians, then the membership of the Trust would treble. Unfortunately, it could be too late by then. Frazzle

Give us something to address. As I said earlier, Moe Green turned up last night and made some constructive suggestions, which have been taken on board and will be worked on. If every fan/member did the same, we'd be in a much healthier position. However, I would imagine that if you'd turned up last night, you would've just told us how shite we were. That doesn't help. Give us something constructive, something to aim at, something to address. Don't just mud-sling. Frazzle

That's one thing that we discussed at the meeting - apathy. We'll do our best to combat it, and I think we're slowly making progress. A Supporters Trust isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine, but when I see the positive impact some Trusts have had on their clubs, particularly down south, it makes me want to get involved. Anything that could potentially be advantageous to MFC and the fans will always get my support. It is disappointing to see that the attitude of some people is to take pot-shots and not take the chance to back them up, but as I said at the meeting last night, I will intentionally be distancing myself from such posts on here from now on. Mst Open Meeting

That over-used little ditty sums it up perfectly. The vast majority of the snipers roll out excuses on the day of the event as to why they can't attend a Monday evening they've known about for weeks, or possibly months. Maybe Ewan Cameron has a point about this site... Anyway, the turnout was pretty shocking, as to be expected, but I'd like to think the people who were there had most of their questions answered and maybe learned a thing or two about what we're trying to achieve. What's important from my point of view is that there was also a few constructive suggestions made by people (members and non-members) about what we can do to increase the membership. They will be taken on board and hopefully pay dividends. I'll probably go into more detail later, or maybe someone else will as I'm rushing out to work just now but I'd say that the meeting went well enough. Frazzle

Aye, fair do's. Memory of it is sketchy at best, but whatever happened, it may mean that Utd fans won't get into JDs afterall. Frazzle

Aye, I think someone got stabbed outside the pub before a Utd game once if I mind right. Frazzle

Nah, it's JDs. It's been refurbished so there's a walkway between what was previously the function hall and the bar. Dundee Utd should be ok I think - I'm sure it was Aberdeen and Hibs he said wouldn't be allowed in due to trouble in the past. Frazzle
  23. Picking up 30 tickets tonight for the Corner boys, got a half day booked for the Thursday - going to be a smashing night. Frazzle
