  1. I actually don't mind the split- seasons like this one means that we have something to play for for the last six months of the season.
  2. I still don't rate Murphy that highly, but I'd definitely take him back.
  3. I have always been happy with Puma - I've not loved every design but I think that's an unreasonable expectation. The quality, the availability and the shade of claret and amber have all been decent so I'd be happy to stick with them. The thought of us playing in those jaunty Macron shorts that Leeds had give me the fear.
  4. ALWAYS. Jim Paterson even got sent off for taking one at Rugby Park if I remember rightly.
  5. Even if we do see blood, guts and tears on Friday night, I doubt I'll have forgiven them for Saturday. Playing against the Champions live on Sky is not where you earn your stripes as a Motherwell player in my book, or else there would be a massive Ged Brannan flag up on the floodlight instead of Joe Wark. The next 2/3 months will prove whether the captain is telling us the truth or not.
  6. I'm underwhelmed by those, particularly as a home design.
  7. I was brought up surrounded by mostly Celtic fans in my family and friends and when I heard this game was moved to a Friday night I was buzzing for the possibility of a glorious win under the floodlights followed by a party into the wee small hours. As of right now.... couldn't give a fuck. Might not go. That's very worrying for me. Our Scottish Cup exit always puts me on a downer but this one completely takes the biscuit.
  8. The implication about how much the players care about pulling on the Motherwell shirt was completely lacking on Saturday. Or do you think he's saying they've only started to care over the past couple of days? Either way- completely unacceptable.
  9. I think the words are fine, but actions speak louder and told a very different tale.
  10. So it seems I owe Big Wispy Flossy an apology. Glad he didn't take me up on my bet now!
  11. In terms of isolated games we've obviously had some shockers, but as a run of cup exits go, the one we are on now is abysmal. Albion Rovers- enough said. At home to ten man sheep. At home to sheep again after losing a sloppy last minute goal to force the replay then not turning up. Third division h**s on their knees, bottle crashed. We can't have had back-to-back seasons of cup exits worse than that, especially with the added boot in the stones that in both years we were papped out before Xmas.
  12. She should have flung him about the dressing room like an empty trackie. If I'd seen him or any of the players on saturday night I would have got the jail. Even a couple of days on, I am still seriously considering not going on Friday night. If the players don't give a fuck then why should I pay through the nose to watch my team make an arse of themselves? And to say it's not lack of effort is just an embarrassing lie.
  13. It could be the biggest giant-killing in Scottish football history in terms of league positions between the two sides.

    Albion Rovers

I think Mr N. Vote could get Player of the Year.
  15. A couple of the boys were doing Movember so we hinted to the big man that it was a tribute but I don't think he bought it. Not wishing to blow smoke up his arse, but Sieb and his wife Claudia had less than two hours sleep, drove for two and a half hours then spent the same time on a flight and still got straight off it and amused us with stories from his career all the way to Ayrshire before playing a blinder, posing for photos and signing things for our team and coming to Rugby Park to watch the 'Well (via the bookies where Sieb stuck a fiver on 2-0 'Well) and humoured us talking shite to him all day. He was (is!) a magnificent goalkeeper but he gets more than a few bonus points for being a superb human being. My newly-appointed favourite Motherwell player of all time.
  16. It's a double-edged sword though - if we bang all these guys on long-term contracts before we know just how good they can be, we'll get more out of players like Hutchison but we'd also be stuck with McHugh, Saunders, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Lawless, etc for years too. And while these players aren't terrible, we'd never have got a team willing to pay money for any of them and they'd have stuck about here being paid a wage that we then wouldn't have been able to offer to Higdon, Ojamaa, Faddy, Randolph, etc. I also think it's churlish of anyone to suggest our club hasn't been well-run over the past decade.
  17. Gunnar Kerr Murray Hutchison Angol Faddy Carswell Lawson Vigurs Moore McHugh Safe passage to the next round, with Lawson, Faddy and Vigurs given the chance to get their confidence up and a bit of gametime for the rest.
  18. If anyone is interested.... http://www.motherwell-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/dijkstra_steels_the_show__kaisayr_1_fpcfc_3_815837/index.shtml
  19. We actually contacted Hummell to see if they could make one up for us but they couldn't unfortunately. I am still pinching myself that this happened. Seems like a dream.
  20. Great 3-1 win with the big man only beaten by a freak OG! Superb day - what a legend.
