You are forgetting to factor in that the move will be a joint venture between Motherwell FC and North Lanarkshire council who are hardly known for their forward thinking or initiative. It will be a soulless dump no doubt.

I think he plays for them regularly to be honest. There was nothing made of it at the time. And yes, Sieb does still live in Holland so our finances may not stretch to a regular gig for the big man!

They're ok- think it may have been contentious if it was an outfield player. Jamie Pollock, who was on the books at MFC, scored a hat-trick against us as an Airdrie fan in a 4-4 draw last season, and that was annoying!

The legend that is Sieb Dijkstra will be turning out for Fir Park Corner FC this saturday at Prestwick Academy at 12noon before heading to Rugby Park to cheer on the 'Well. If anyone wants to come along and watch what will probably be the more entertaining of the days games, alcohol (and even Pyro!) is actively encouraged and entry is £22 less than at Rugby Park. What's not to love?

I wasn't really negging him, whatever that means. I think the question of artificial pitches is a valid one. I'm not sure if I agree with it at Fir Park, but reckon it's a near certainty that one will be laid at our new stadium when we move. I was just questioning the comparison with Norway as it seems to me their national side and club sides are on the decline if anything. Obviously there's money in the game there but surely that's largely due to the wealth in the country, and I would hazard a guess that attendances are up because the football is community-based and competitive. I don't see any of the positive aspects of Norweigan football being down to playing on artificial surfaces. It also seems an odd comparison after watching the midden they played Scotland on last night!

The community thing will never happen here, with the West coast attitude of sectarianism, etc. I maintain that if the Old Firm didn't exist, Scottish football would be right up there with the most entertaining on the planet, with relative competition for titles, promotion, relegation, etc and bigger, passionate crowds. Sadly, they do exist so it's a crock of predictable, corrupt shite.

And their national team finished fourth in (IMHO) the easiest World Cup qualifying group behind Switzerland, Iceland and Slovenia.

When Fir Park Corner sponsored the Killie game a couple of months back, we were absolutely blootered and chose MOTM based on who we thought was most likely to come out and have a swally with us!

Faddy is really troubling me. Seems to be some cloak and dagger stuff going on there too. Not fit enough to play any part on Wednesday yet fit enough to start today is odd. As for the game itself, we were the better team without being brilliant and created far more chances than Hibs. Anyone abusing McCall from the stands really needs to take a look at themselves. A guy in front of us shouted to Sutton that he was a lazy bastard after watching him put a tremendous shift in for 80-odd minutes and also exclaimed that Anier hadn't a clue for some bizarre reason. I really do despair at what folk think they are watching and what they are expecting at times.

I thought big John Handsome was outstanding but will also give big Mick the nod for getting his first goal and for babysitting Hutchison, who had an uncharacteristic nightmare.
