I think most people would agree that your family, etc are more important than the result of any football match- Motherwell fans in particular shouldn't need any reminders of perspective after December 2007, but I can't relate to someone who has forgotten about it by the time they get back to the car. I still find myself furious or delighted about the Motherwell result often on a Monday morning as I head to work to dissect it with colleagues who support different clubs. Also, to anyone who does forget about it after two minutes, how would you feel if the ultimate happened and the club went bust? Similar to if the council closed your local library? Sounds facetious but it's a genuine question- I honestly can't fathom a football club being a 90 minute hobby for someone.

I don't particularly care who the new manager is, as long as it's not a complete numpty. What is obvious to me is that "fan power", which is a phrase I hate, lost McGhee his job. I'm quite delighted by this because the guy was as likeable as pubes on soap and had completely lost the plot. However, what the fans have achieved was the easy bit. Becoming furious or apathetic when we're shite is a natural reaction. What takes a bit more effort is galvanising ourselves when the chips are down. We need to get back to Fir Park for the St Johnstone game in droves and, more importantly, back the team and whoever is in the dugout. If we think things are bad just now, speak to a Dunfermline or a St Mirren fan who were in our position not too long ago. I think there is a subconscious expectation from a lot of our support that we'll be alright because over the last three decades we have always got ourselves out of it but make no mistake, especially under 'Well Society ownership we are staring down a barrel here. Let's step up and play our part.

Over 150 minutes of football, you could probably point a finger of blame in many different directions, but I find mistakes absolutely forgivable- we are Motherwell after all. However, Vigurs' contribution wasn't a mistake- it was a primma donna, lazy arsed attitude and that's what I can't accept.
