Well you're wrong then madscot. Simple as that really. We have never given rancid or atrocious abuse from start to finish at any game ever. Occasionally losing the plot, aye, but generally good-natured banter between ourselves in our group. You'd think we were a bunch of foam-at-the-mouth maniacs from reading your description!

Of course you're right Al, but these people must like football. There will undoubtedly be a plethora of reasons why they choose not to go- some will be out with the clubs control but some of the reasons will be well within it. The matchday product at Fir Park (and I don't mean the current poor run of form) is absolutely awful, and that must be a factor in why some of these people stay away.

Any of the guys I sit with will confirm I've never rated Hateley during his time here. And if I turned in as many sub-standard performances at my work I would be on the dole by now, nevermind a big nasty man saying wicked things to me. And I can assure you I'm not on £3k a week!

McCall shouldn't be getting his jotters anytime soon unless something drastic happens over the next few months. At the end of the season his performance should be assessed and decisions made accordongly. Given that we've been papped out of the Champions League, Europa League, the League Cup and now the Scottish Cup with barely a whimper, anything outside the European places makes this a shite season as far as I'm concerned.

I think my argument is slightly different. If the ball comes to Higdon at chest height, he should chest it in my opinion, but it is possible, however unlikely, that someone else might want him to head it. But with Hateley, his crosses seldom beat the first man, his outswinging corners from the right are more likely to cause an opportunity for the opposition than us, and defensively he almost never blocks the cross from their left winger. And yet he is (supposedly) our highest earner, hits every set piece and seems to be the first name on the team sheet every week. It's cringeworthy.

I never thought of it serving a purpose like that. Maybe I'll ramp it up a notch then...

Well, I suppose he prompted it because he had a wee go at me tonight, but there's a good few like him on this forum and in the stands. Between them and the moaners, I genuinely feel that people with considered and balanced views are in the minority. To be honest, I'm just venting my overall frustrations on here in the same way as I was at the game. Hopefully I'll be in a better mood in the morning.

Yep, that's me. I don't think I berate anyone wildly, and any criticism I do vocalise isn't a pre-planned attempt to improve things. It's a build-up of frustration, a let off of some steam. Football is a mans game and that applies as much to accepting criticism when it's due as much as it does to getting a hard challenge put in on you on the park.

Sorry to break it to people but there is no "Best Motherwell Fan" award getting dished out at the end of the season. I find folk who slate players every week regardless of their performance very frustrating, but the only thing that annoys me more is the fans who will sit and tolerate any level of turgid, heartless pish and still applaud the players like they've achieved something. Even more galling is that these same morons feel they are entitled to shout down other supporters who have the cheek to point out when there is a blatant lack of ability and application. What do these people feel they are going to earn from behaving like this? And do they only do it to get that warm and fuzzy feeling in their stomach from sitting on a high horse? Someone please explain- I'm genuinely curious.
