  1. Hutchison is raw but he's ten times the player Saunders ever was.
  2. We've already dropped 4 points to newly promoted teams this season. That'll be plenty. Get them pumped Motherwell.
  3. We are a better side than them- of that I have no doubt, but the same was true when Dundee came here. I really can't see us losing but it could be another frustrating low-score draw. My only hope is that if we take the lead, McCall realises we are not strong enough at the back to defend it and let's us go for a second. If that happens it could be comfortable, but that's rarely the way for the 'Well.
  4. I agree. Webster is one of the best centre-halves in the country at the moment but as a signing target for us, it's a total non-starter.
  5. I can 100% assure you that the error was with your bank, unless the mandate was completed incorrectly. Also, the bank can get your money back, but normally we do tell the customer to go to the beneficiary as they are likely to get it back to you quicker. We have to write to the beneficiary and wait for them to send the funds back to us before we can re-imburse the customer. If it had been a direct debit, the bank would have got you your cash back on the day you raised the query then chase the company for it. The only down side of that system is that if we chase it for six months and don't get it, we whip it back from you. If I was you I would make a formal complaint to your bank and continue to chase MFC for the cash. You should be looking at a small amount of compensation but every little helps, especially at this time of year.
  6. Saunders was never, at any point, on a par with Hutchison and his token cap had even the most happy clappy 'Well fans scratching their heads. I feel sorry for him though- if he does make a comeback he will have no chance of living up to the romanticed wonderkid he is being remembered as on here. I can only recall the positionally unaware raw defender who was decent in the air but prone to a clanger.
  7. You know the phrase "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"? I think that is being proven here....
  8. Agreed, and I'd also wager that he's had less money to offer in wages than Brown, McGhee or Gannon had.

Even aside from the goal, it's Murphy for me.

    Dundee Utd

I would have gone for Ojamaa until he went off but since Murphy got the 90 I'll give my vote to him. Randolph, Angol, Higdon and Humphrey all played well too. Hateley was shite as usual but what worries me more is that Lasley and Hutchison had off-nights and we'll need them to bring their A game back to the table for Saturday.
  11. He admits that himself to be fair. His celebration and subsequent post-match interview when he scored a header at Easter Road tells us that.

Would give anything for Stu to be right.

    A Worse Game

I was only talking down one match. Bloody hell. There is a lot of pant-wetters on here who will never, ever say anything negative or critical about anything to do with MFC on or off the park and there has been, is, and always will be plenty of shortcomings at our club. Likewise any other club.

    A Worse Game

I think we disagree on the definition of a chance. I don't think there was a single clear-cut one in the full game. And, again, my post wasn't about how good or bad the performance was- just about how entertaining it was. If we go to Tannadice and play out another snooze fest but grab the three points there will be nobody happier than me!

    A Worse Game

I've not listened to the radio for years. I just thought it was a terrible game devoid of any entertainment. A long-range header comfortably saved is the only time there was anything even close to a goal, and the main talking point is about whether a goalie caught someone with his leg during a routine save. I'm not being particularly negative- as I said its a decent point and I believe we can kick on, but I don't see many neutrals around the country watching yesterdays game from start to finish.

    A Worse Game

Nothing to do with the performance or result- a draw at home to Hearts is no disaster and we deserved a point- but it's been in my mind that the entire UK potentially watched that match and it was horribly low in entertainment value. I can't remember a meaningful shot on target for either team and it looked like both sides were happy not to lose. Can anyone think of a less watchable match? The one that always springs to mind for me was the mid-season friendly with IFK Gotenburg about fifteen years ago but in the circumstances that was destined to be dull. Today's game was a competitive fixture between two teams who should be vying for second place and the fixture offered nothing. So, on that basis, have we played out a worse football match than today?
  17. Unless you know more about it than I do, it's almost impossible to calculate that figure. I don't want to lose him but I'm realistic that something has to give.
  18. Murphy is the only one of our sellable assets that we don't need, therefor we should punt him for whatever we can get to balance the books. If we don't need to balance the books then we should punt him anyway to try to keep any of Randolph/Law/Higdon.
  19. Randolph Quinn Corrigan Craigan Hammell Lasley Jennings O'Donnell McDonald Porter Jukiweicz Subs: Ruddy Paterson McCormack x 2 Clarkson
  20. We are in the same one mate. £35 for a twin room, although breakfast isn't included. Looking forward to it.
  21. I think the majority of our fans appreciate him now. This thread has rumbled on, but it seems like it's one or two eejits talking shite and a plethora of folk replying to tell them they're talking shite.
  22. Randolph is a better goalie for us than Rudfy was in my opinion.
