  1. I'm not in a healthy enough financial situation to throw good money after bad into a black hole for no reason, but I joined the 'Well Society, but a strip every season and go to all the games. I can't really think of any other reasonable things I could do. What about this 'Well Lotto? How does that work and where can I sign up?
  2. Yep- I'm a tit! And I don't even know how to edit! You know what I meant...
  3. That was an acceptable answer three months ago!
  4. Only Randolph would force his way into McCalls team from our current lot in my opinion. (Cue smart-arse Stevie Hammell remark...)
  5. Throwing away a two goal lead to trail 3-2 at the moment....
  6. In theory, aye. In McCalls team/tactics, no way.
  7. No striker we've had in the last five years could do Higdons job as well as he does.
  8. The six game drought included playing against both the Old Firm where McCall decided not to attempt to score! And he notched six in the three (I think) leading to the bad run. He's a fine player. The best traditional number nine we've had in a long time.
  9. Some of this criticism is a bit OTT for my money. A player with Higdons goal scoring ratio must play every minute of every game he's available. It's as simple as that. There's no need to justify his inclusion further by mentioning his defensive work at set pieces. His primary role is to score goals and he's doing it consistently. Nobody else is. Omar only plays ten minutes every now and again so I'd say it's harsh to drag him into any of the blame-throwing for our poor run. I'm not saying I rate him, but its not his fault. Lasley is not past it. He's still a good SPL midfielder but he is perhaps not good enough to hold the whole midfield together as he is being asked to do just now. Hateley is utter, utter shite and even though he's still young he has plenty of game time under his belt and I don't see him improving. Why he hits every set piece is beyond me. The biggest problem we have in the team as a whole just now is inexperience at the back. I think Ramsden is passable but he's not strong enough to guide a novice like Cunmins through the game and as a result both of their performances suffer. I know we're not scoring much but three of our starting XI hit double figures last year and I genuinely believe the drought will end soon. However, I don't see a quick fix to the leaky backline.
  10. Craigan needs replacing more than Jennings does.

I gave my vote to Angol as a gesture of appreciation for his drive and attacking flair when he came on. Whoever voted for number 6 is needing a stint in the Priory.
  12. All of those players are better than Murphy....
  13. I think most folk agree with that. Good SPL player? Aye. Premiership player? Absolutely not. International player? Not a chance.
  14. I agree with that, but I think we all know its not the case. Lasley is suspended, Carswell comes in for a game and plays a stormer, Lasley is back the next game. Carswell would possibly retain a place in the team, but it would be at the expense of someone like Murphy. He's a first team player, yes, but he's not part of the spine of the first XI. For that reason, I think we've missed a trick not selling him at some point over the past couple of years while his stock has been higher outside of MFC than its been within.
  15. Sorry NottsMFC- I still don't know how to quote from my phone! I take your point, and I'd love the ethos to be in place where we had competition for every place. Sadly this can't be the case for a squad as small as ours and, despite Murpphys good form, I don't think our XI would be weakened much, if at all, by playing Carswell in the middle and Law on the left with Ojamaa supporting Higdon. That's not a criticism of Murphy as such- if we had someone who was as good a centre-half as Murphy is a forward then he'd play beside Hutchison every week for me.
  16. Randolph, Hateley, Hutchison, Lasley, Law and Higdon will start every game they are available for. Fact.
  17. Jamie Murphy is nowhere near being our best offensive player. He is also behind about ten folk for Scotland. He played well on Saturday but shouldn't, in my opinion, be a certain starter for us.
  18. Whose? I can't see it anywhere?
  19. No and no. If anyone answers differently, they're on crack.
  20. Haha, fair point! You know what I meant...
  21. We have five games to play this month, and its not unrealistic that we could end up with 0, 15 or any number in between. Wednesdays game is massive in my opinion. If we win, we'll go into the next game against Dundee and brush them aside, but if we lose it could set us back and suddenly turn Saturday into a tricky fixture.
  22. I wouldn't say that's guaranteed, with Edinburgh & Highland derbies being pulled out aswell.
