  1. I don't think it's that positive for the club- clearly haven't maximised potential sales. No matter how many have been sold, it won't have nearly matched up to the same period last year when we had a new home, away and 125 year strip.
  2. Disaster! It's my birthday next week and had given the missus very strict instructions! Will need to think of something else now. It's a shame for you guys aswell because there's bound to be a load of folk who won't buy it now, myself included, because I was buying it for the European trips and I suspect they will be over by September! Edit: Man City away for me instead, I think.
  3. Is it true that Large & XL short-sleeved are sold out and won't be back in stock until September? Surely not.
  4. Cheers for the heads-up troops. I am now at the 'Absolutely cannot wait another second' stage.
  5. You need a Visa for Turkey? I will definitely be going regardless. Pesimistically, I've booked time off work for the Europa League play-off dates aswell but that one really depends on where it is and how much of a fortune I've spent on the first trip.
  6. I didn't realise you were folding - good riddance Something poetic about you lot and the h**s hitting the skids in the same close season In all seriousness, any WTFC/MFC players would be more than welcome, as long as they are 'Well fans. The fixtures are built around Motherwell ones where possible so it may be right up your street to have an away game in Gorgie in the morning, go back to the oppositions pub across from Tynie for some scran then head to the big teams game in the afternoon. There is no better feeling than a 'six point saturday' for the 'Well!
  7. Fir Park Corner FC are on the lookout for players ahead of the new IFA Scottish League campaign. A bounce game has been arranged for next weekend for anyone wishing to sign up. The Corner started out in 2001, playing its first game against the then 'Unofficial Motherwell site' on the artificial pitch at Fir Park. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength picking up the IFA Scottish League title and becoming the first Scottish supporters team to win the IFA British Championship in 2011. Last season saw the team triumph at the inaugural ScotNet tournament at Stirling University, beating off tough competition from across the country. FirParkCorner FC with the Scottish League and British Championship trophies. The team play their matches on Saturday mornings with the 3G pitch at the new Ravenscraig facility playing host to the Corner's home games. The side travel away to play other supporters’ teams and regularly visit Ayr, Cumbernauld, Livingston, Edinburgh, Airdrie and Kirkcaldy. These fixtures tend to tie in with where Motherwell’s ‘big’ team is playing in the afternoon. The IFA National Cup competition has seen the team represent Motherwell in Kiddiminster, Watford, London, West Bromwich and Blackpool over the past couple of years. The end of season trip to Leeds has become a real favourite with our current squad where no less than 64 teams converge on the Yorkshire city from as far afield as France, Italy and Nigeria. If you are a Motherwell fan looking to get involved in the team for the coming season then come along to the trial match taking place on the Ravenscraig outdoor astroturf pitch on the morning of Saturday 14th July 2012 at 11am. If you are interested in playing in this bounce game or would like more information on the team then you should reply here, email contact@firparkcornerfc.com or call/text 07858 973 623. Cheers.
  8. maplewell - My apologies. It is the Scottish Cup Semi Final from 2003 that has Dunfermline or Rangers v Motherwell on the ticket. I knew I'd seen it somewhere!
  9. I've been posting on this board since it was conceived as WelltrustFC.net, and was posting on FirParkCorner.com years before that, and I thought I'd never be surprised about how much Motherwell fans moan about stuff, but this thread has amazed me. I think it's great testament to how well things are going on and off the pitch at our club just now that all the moaners can get their knickers in a twist about is the wording on Champions League tickets!
  10. I have a wee box of tickets at the side of my bed but they don't go back far enough for the 2005 final and I can't be bothered going up the loft so I'll just concede defeat on that one. Let's pretend I made that point about the 2011 SC semi where my ticket definitely says "Dundee Utd or Motherwell v St Johnstone". I know not strictly the same because as 'Well fans we'll know it was us playing in the match but my point was that's it's not an unknown step to print tickets before both teams are identified.
  11. This thread is madness. Obviously the club want to sell as many tickets as possible just now because: a) If we're at home first, you've got a few girls in the office working behind a six foot long desk trying to serve us all, then everyone would be on here complaining about the queue. And you'd have ST holders and 'Well Society members grumbling that they didn't get preferential treatment. b) If we're away first and the tickets didn't go on sale until after the draw, some 'floating voters' would wait until after the first game before deciding whether or not to buy. Losing 8-0 in Kiev would put a fair old dent in the coffers. On the subject of the physical ticket not having the name of the opponent on it: a) I remember no such grumblings about the CIS Cup Final in 2005 where, if I'm not mistaken, the opponent is listed as 'Dunfermline or Rangers'. b) Buy a programme. Maybe it's just me, but given that we were in administration not so long ago and we're only a small club from a town consumed with recession and in the shadow of the Old Firm, I would walk to the surface of the moon at any cost to watch Motherwell play in the Champions League even if I didn't know the opposition until I got there. Stop bloody moaning and count your blessings. Years from now, this period will be known as 'the good old days' and we should all enjoy them while they last.
  12. Is it just me who'd be content with an XI of: Randolph Hateley Saunders Hutchison Hammell Humphrey Lasley Carswell Law Higdon Ojamaa ?? It can be mixed up a bit up front with Murphy on the bench and seems like a difficult backline to break down if we don't play too far up the park. A couple of signings is always nice but I'm not reaching for the panic button just yet. That's a good young team we've got there.
  13. And he decides to do that the day before voting on arguably the single biggest issue voted on in Scottish footballs modern history? Doubt it. The truth will come out eventually. I'm not panicking....yet.
  14. Any idea where in Grangemouth?
  15. Cannae beat a nonsense tuckshop post at 3am Andy!
  16. To be honest, I think Jenno is more important for the SPL than Europe anyway. Foreign refs dish out cards like confetti and he'd be a prime suspect for me. It's a shame he's going but if you'd told me we'd only lose Jennings and Clancy this pre-season I would've accepted that. I'm reasonably happy about how we're shaping up at the moment.
  17. And three of my favourite 'Well managers from my time used to play for them too...
  18. I'd buy that right now.
  19. Have we signed One Direction?
  20. It's not a big standard shade of blue. It's got a bit of green and a bit of grey in it when you see it in the flesh. I'm not cultured enough to even have a guess about what it's called but it's a unique colour for a football strip as far as I'm concerned.
  21. To the destination of the league title, not a jot. To the image and reputation of a club legend amongst a lot of 'Well fans...everything. I would personally be inconsolable if he went there.
  22. I didn't say 'like'. I said I'd 'accept'. Very, very different.
