I agree with most of the rest of what you've said, but there's no sense in rewarding poor performance. For the record, I don't heckle Reynolds or any other Motherwell players, at games.
-
There is a difference between supporting the team and blindly praising everything about the club, ignoring all faults. A good number of people on here would do well to realise that.
-
It's my thread - I'll set the tone however I like. Keep your eyes peeled for: "steelboy - What a c**t. Discuss."

I hate all that shite patter. Firstly, how does someone criticising a Motherwell player make them a 'so-called fan' rather than just a fan? I'd guess there's very few people on here who have spent more time and money supporting Motherwell than me over the past decade, but I'm a 'so-called' fan because I get frustrated seeing the same Motherwell players making the same sort of mistakes on a regular basis over a number of seasons? If you're a Motherwell fan, you're a Motherwell fan. There's no grading system. Broadening out the Reynolds thing a wee bit, I admit I was looking for a reaction on the other thread, but I genuinely do get frustrated with the attitudes of other Motherwell fans. I like Mark Reynolds and I want him to do well; I just don't think he's that good. And part of the reason I keep highlighting it is because he always escapes the flak that is thrown Craigans way, despite hardly being worthy of lacing his boots. I would understand that mindset if he was afforded more patience because he is/was a young player who has came through our ranks, but if that's the case then why is the same patience not afforded to Marc Fitzpatrick who, to me, has been at least as good as Reynolds for Motherwell, if not better?

Glad you think it's funny. I'd be happier if we'd beaten Rangers, but if the two incidents that stopped that happening amuse you, then I think you should change your name to something more appropriate.
-
What have I said that's actually wrong? "Frazzle, yer talking shite" isn't winning an argument.
-
I sit almost exactly along that very line and there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that he was onside at the time, and I had three pints in me. Cheating. No doubt about it.
-
I've never denied that charge, but I'm right about Reynolds.
-
You are clearly mental if you believe that! He's lucky if he's one of the top five defenders at Motherwell!
-
As others have said, a few contenders. Hately had a good game and scored a brilliant freekick. Would have been tempted to give it to Jennings as I felt O'Brien tired a bit towards the end, so I'm going for Keith Lasley who was excellent once again, showing great mobility and some real dig. We've really missed him, and it's great to have a Housewives Favourite again! Also, forgot to put a special mention to Craggs - another one who has been badly missed. He held the defense together last night as I felt both Hammell and Reynolds were slightly ropey, even aside from their goal.
-
I've been saying this about Reynolds for years. Everyone who sits around me will testify to that, and I'm sure I've mentioned it on here about a million times, so I'm not just picking on him because of one mistake (ha!) or because Yassin has left. He was murder before Yassin came, and he's still murder now. Also, he did almost sell Rangers a winner last night with his dithering when he was robbed of the ball deep inside his own half. It's not so much Reynolds that annoys me - it's the double standards from brainless Motherwell fans, so I feel as though I need to over-compensate for the majority of folk who refuse to acknowedge his (many) shortcomings.

He cost us two points last night. He can't mark, has no positional awareness, can't tackle, not great in the air. If he didn't have pace and was right-footed he'd be playing for FirParkCorner. One of the most over-rated players I have ever seen in a Motherwell jersey, which is made all the worse by the fact that Craigan, who is a far superior centre-half, gets pelters from the support because he's not as quick, but he can do everything else. It angers me that Craigans OG in Bucharest got pages of pelters on this site, and Reynolds' mistake last night, which was every bit as bad and arguably more important, is merely a hushed after-thought because he's the golden boy. Get him tae fuck, Broony. Take the money!

I completely disagree. If referees were simply incompetant, there would be the same (or at least roughly the same) amount of dubious decisions for both teams. Are you trying to tell me that in all the games you've seen Motherwell play Rangers - and I've no idea how old you are or how long you've been a Dosser - we've had anywhere near as many dubious game-changing decisions in our favour as they have? Absolutely no chance. Like I said - cheating at worse, pure shitebaggery at best.
-
Petrol blue, mah arse! That adidas kit is an absolute belter! I'd buy that right now!
-
The exact same goal at the other end would have stood. I am 100% certain of that. Cheating at worst, bottling at best. Doesn't make me feel any better if it's one or the other. That linesman should be punished severely, and publicly.

I actually feel physically sick this morning having saw the 'goal' again. Forbes shouldn't have touched it, but to be fair to him I'd have done the exact same thing, not so much for personal glory but because it was a crowded penalty box and, if I was safe in the knowledge that I was onside as he was, I'd have been making sure it was in the onion bag before anyone got the chance to clear it. I went straight home from the game last night and got to saw Craig Browns reaction to it live, and he is an absolute class act. There is much more at stake for him than me when these decisions go against Motherwell, and I was absolutely irate when I saw it again, but he managed to remain calm, while still pointing out that the big teams get all these decisions, and also saying that if it had stood we'd have gone on to score more. On a more philosophical note, these games are important because, every time the Old Firm and the officials rob us of points against them by blatant cheating, and that's what it was, then it makes it all the sweeter when we beat them next time.

Just a quick note to say I will bring a batch in blank envelopes along to the game tonight. Will be in JDs from 6pm-ish and will be in the back row of the East Stand, section B, throughout the game so if anyone wants one just give me a shout. Also happy to re-send any but mindful that the content will become a bit void if folk don't get them soon...

I think you can, but as the numbers are limited you risk missing out. We're expecting a good turn-out from MFC players, who will be guaranteed a place, plus a good number of Colins regular poker players are up for it aswell. Obviously we'd like as many Trust members and 'Well fans as possible to be involved, and that's why we're giving people the chance to reserve their seat.

The newly-found optimism that has come with Brown and Knox is making me want to believe we could do the business, but it's always difficult against the Old Firm. Like the poster above, I have a heart/head prediction... Heart - 1-0 to the good guys. Head - 3-1 to the h**s.
-
That whole post may as well have been in Japanese as far as I'm concerned, but I shall be there to drink beer and talk shite!

Woods was undoubtedly a good shot-stopper. Apart from anything else, his record of saving six out of ten penalties hit at him in one season (including from Mark Viduka and Juan Sara who rarely missed) cannot be denied. His main problem was that his mistakes were of the mental variety and he was too prone to a rush of blood to the head. I'm by no means saying he was brilliant, but he was a far better goalie for Motherwell than Kaven, Goram, Dubordeau and Brown.

Trucks - one of many 'Well fans who doesn't properly understand football. I bet you love the ginger blunderbus that plays beside Craigan every week...
