  1. The first part of that sentence you can call a prophecy. It's not like Gannon's Motherwell has never blown a lead before, eh? Second part - I have no knowledge of what you speak. Must have been post 9pm!
  2. I am absolutely sick of hearing that line. It's the same as "When we were in administration, we'd have been happy just to have had a team to support". Irrelevant, lot of bollocks. Gannon has, admittedly, brought in a better group of players than we could have expected, but he is now completely failing to manage them and we are on the slide. Whilst this is going on, his solution is to point the finger at the referees, the media, the wee lassie selling the pies, etc to take the heat away from himself - exactly what we all criticised McGhee/Malpas for. I await the announcement of his departure with relish.
  3. I agree with Ross. We'll never forget Phil O'Donnell as a club, or as a fanbase, but there's no need to publicly grieve every year, particularly given the time of year that his tragic death occurred. I wouldn't like to think that we dredged it all up again for his wife and kids when they're trying to have a normal Christmas, which will be hard enough for them.
  4. That's something him and I have in common then...
  5. Don't blame me for that - I'm still expecting a win! You're the prophet of doom! (although I admit I will have completely pressed the panic button if we lose on saturday!)
  6. Inspired by the thread on general football, I thought I'd start up a Motherwell-based one. There's probably loads of players I can't think of, but here goes... Ruddy Corrigan Teale Craigan Paterson Elliott Lasley Valakari McFadden Porter Clarkson That was actually really difficult, and was hard not to have a completely top-heavy team as you obviously remember the strikers more fondly than you remember the defenders. I've consciously left out a few good players there, but there it is anyway. Thoughts and opinions?
  7. I was in Daniels that night - was totally sureal and they were a great bunch of lads!
  8. If Craigan played for a bigger club, he'd be just as well known in the football world as Best and Giggs. He's an Northern Irish hero - they like him as much as they like George Best.
  9. Ah right, I see what he meant now. I thought he was meaning that to be eligible to play for a country in general you would have to play there for two years, even if it was where you were born. ie, young Scottish boys tapped up by English clubs and coming through their ranks like Darren Fletcher would be ineligible. Never mind - mah heid's pickled.
  10. That actually sounds like a good idea until you actually think about it. Some absolutely top-class players would never have been capped if that was to be the case. George Best, Stevie Craigan and Ryan Giggs being the three biggest examples.
  11. +1 for me, I'm afraid. Can't get the time off work at this notice, but I would've liked to have gone along. Quite happy to chuck a big benner at the cause though.
  12. Thanks very much to everyone who turned up last night, with 100+ 'Well fans turning out on a terrible night the week before Xmas. Was also chuffed to note that the Trust received 53 memberships last night, including messrs Gannon and Cowan, which is great. I'm sure there'll be a press release out shorty, if there isn't already, for the folk who weren't able to make it along. Thanks again to everyone who came and supported the night- hopefully a lot of you enjoyed it enough to come along to future events. Cheers
  13. The bar will be open until midnight, but I expect the panel night to be done and dusted by the back of ten.
  14. Dunno - I always thought you had to be a fatcalf or 'Flow minion to get on here. Not sure which one of them I am...
  15. I didn't hear Tam Cowans show so I'm not defending what he's said, but it strikes me that there's still a high number of people on here who won't accept that Jim Gannon is not immune from criticism. He's taken a job as a football manager (for a six figure salary, lets not forget) so he must accept that negative feedback from fans is part of the package. It also seems to me that a lot of the blindly loyal Gannonites are the same folk who had Mutley on a pedestal until he left. To my mind that makes them just as fickle as the folk who turn on the manager after a couple of bad results, if not more so.
  16. Bloody hell. Didn't think Steelmenonline had room for any more bell-ends. I was wrong.
  17. You signed up to the forum to post that?
  18. Did Neil Lennon not get sent off for a foul on Derek Adams right at the tunnel in one game, or was it the other way round?
  19. I hope Alan Provan has the sense to stock them in a 'Fiction' section, or else I may be forced to sue the club for libel...
  20. The gist of this thread, and several others before it, is that a good number of uppity young posters on here think trafficlight is a bell-end and he continually tries to defend himself, while annoying you all further. Just let it go, the lot of you. Or start one thread about it that the rest of us can ignore.
  21. Correct. Well done again lads.
  22. I can see how trafficlight could grind folks' gears, but we can't possibly sit on our high horse say the Man Utd support is full of bawbags when a quick glance around these forums would show that we have plenty of our own!
  23. Quite clearly his agent trying to get more wages/bigger fee. There is absolutely no way he is EPL-bound. He's barely SPL standard. Having said that, stranger things have happened and I am quite prepared to eat my hat...
  24. Tennents isn't the best in JDs, I'll admit. Usually looks like it should have a flake in it and has a wee bit of an aftertaste, but still does the job. If we're going to be lager snobs, pay the extra 20p for a pint of Budweiser and it's top notch. Also, you can't slate the lager anywhere and then drink at the Cooper!
