  1. Can I just say at this stage that I will be considerably mock outraged if anyone says anything about killing seals with a spear...

Correct. For reference, see "An Evening with Tam Cowan" DVDs...

"There was a lot of sense about me leaving regardless of the fact Motherwell are four points ahead of us at the moment. That's irrelevant because my long-term plan at Aberdeen will prove me right in my decision to come here." Pish in a pot.

That is great news about Aluko. For me, that leaves Mulgrew as their only talent, and from left back he shouldn't be able to worry us unless, as someone else said, we give away set pieces in dangerous positions. Hopefully Humphrey will run the legs off him and keep him pinned back where he can't damage us. The Aluko news has just increased my confidence tenfold. Moan The 'Well!

I grudgingly agree with you there, although I like him a lot. Would hate to see him leave, and can't see how Jennings is any better so far.

Surely you both have the wingers the wrong way round? Or is that a sneaky tactic that I'm not clever enough to understand? Anyway, my team would be... _________________Ruddy__________________ Hately___Hutchison_____Reynolds____Hammell Humphrey____Coke_____Forbes_______O'Brien __________Sutton_____Murphy______________ I would play Hately at right back as I am not convinced with Yassin, and I think Hately's more disciplined in terms of dealing with Aluko. I also think Forbes is due a spell on the bench as he hasn't been doing enough for me recently, despite his goals, but I don't think this is the game for it as they are pish in midfield and we could be doing with a creative spark in there. Even though I don't really rate Murphy, I'd give him the nod as his confidence must be sky-high after his goal against Accies and his double for Scotland during the week. Would also say we've got plenty on the bench to change it if it'snot working, which is unusual for us. I'm quietly confident about this one.
  7. Aye, but was Butcher not saying in the Press after we signed Fraser that he was still hoping to talk him out of it?
  8. I was hoping I'd got away with that! I'll get him back for that...
  9. I think it was around the £500 mark, which is good. Was also pleased that everyone seemed to have a good night. I fairly enjoyed myself, probably a bit too much. Had to be talked down from the wall by Dougie Arnott as I was trying to get on the pitch, which was sureal! Also have the words "I AM A COCK" written on my chest in big black letters this morning. Thanks a lot to everyone who came along and made it a good, and succesful, night. Cheers.
  10. Note to any Dossers called Alan - Don't go to the 'Well Shop to get your shirt printed...
  11. You'll fit right in mate!
  12. Fit just in time for the January transfer window...
  13. Of course. It's just turn up and pay on the night. Tenner a team. It's always a good laugh and not taken too seriously.
  14. WTF does that mean? I sincerely hope your patter's better on the night...
  15. Was pay-at-the gate on saturday there mate. You shouldn't have any bother.
  16. OK, altogether now... "Jim Gannon's a Paed..."
  17. That was a great night. I was planning on leaving work at noon, but got held up. Had to drive like a madman to make the afore-mentioned bus on time - ended up hitting ice/snow and skidding off the road, down a hill. Had to be pulled out by a tractor! Still made it in time for a quick pint before the bus left though... Someone also 'tagged me' - whatever that means - on facebook in a photo of us all pushing the bus when it wouldn't start after the game. Laughed out loud when I saw it.
  18. I think it's a month-to-month rolling contract that Gannon is on. Makes it easier for clubs to steal him if he is good, and makes it easier for us to punt him if he's not!
  19. I have a great deal of fondness for all of the players on your "at risk" list but at the end of the day football is a results business and they have played little part in our good start to the season. It's easy for us to say who we should keep or get rid of, but we don't know the wages they are on and if letting go of a guy we all like who hasn't kicked a ball since May means we can bring in another player to help complete the Jim Gannon jigsaw then so be it.
  20. All the sensible money is on Accies for saturday then! I'm not a boo-boy as such, and I like both Gannon and the Duke, but I don't honestly think either award was deserved. Having said that, there's been plenty of times when deserving 'Well players and managers have been overlooked so it's nice to have our boys recognised.
  21. Van Hooijdonk scoring the only goal at Parkhead at what seemed to be about midnight was a bit of a sickener, as was just about every time we've gone out of either of the cups since 1991. Celtic equalising to make it 4-4 (Beattie I think) hurt aswell. Although I have to say the worst one for me was Nancy at home. A bigger damp squib there has seldom been.
