    Motherwell Flag

Big Poles are definitely allowed in. See... I'll get mah coat...
  2. Was about 1993 I think, against Dundee Utd. Chris McCart was injured so Davie Cooper was the captain. Which meant I didn't get to hit shots into big Seib - instead Cooper took me to one side to teach me wee tricks and flicks for a good five minutes. I remember thinking how surreal it was to see a Scottish football legend sitting in his Y-fronts in the dressing room! We won the game 2-0, Kirk scoring both the goals. One in the first five minutes, and one in the last five minutes. I could be wrong but I reckon four of the starting XI that day are no longer with us...
  3. Possibly the first time I've ever agreed with Busta...
  4. I don't think we are total shite, but I think St Mirren have been fairly underestimated. If Motherwell and St. Mirren were to emalgimate tomorrow (shudder at the very thought) then I'd reckon that more of their players than ours would be in the starting XI. Unbiased, I would say the best team from the two squads would be... 1. Gallacher 2. Ross 3. Hammell 4. Reynolds 5. Mair 6. Coke 7. Murray 8. Dornan 9. Mehmet 10. Dargo 11. O'Brien 7-4 to St Mirren in my book.
  5. He did indeed, and not for the last time.
  6. At the moment, St Mirren are better than us. They're goalie is better than ours at present, their defence has been better organised than ours and their midfield has battled and created more than ours. They also have a better set of strikers in general.
  7. Speedie, did we get 'Flow to write the blurb for the Quiz Night?!?!
  8. I'm in Mitches pad just now having a fry-up and a few beers. Not sure if I should post his address to have a Facebook-style Motherwell fans riot in his living room...
  9. Thanks Emmjay, much appreciated. Maybe see you next year!
  10. It is on the 14th, in the Centenary. Tell all yer mates... You give Speedie one job...
  11. Part-time supporter. I never thought I'd see the day...
  12. Ruddy Hately Hutchison Reynolds Hammell Humphrey Coke Forbes O'Brien McHugh Sutton I think Murphy has done ok, but I think it's time to give McHugh a chance and maybe take them by surprise. I'd also drop Moutakil as he was murder polis on saturday, although I'm not 100% comfortable with Hately at right back either. With the pace Humphrey has, there won't be as much need for an overlap anyway so I'd rather have him for his defensive ability. Also, despite the Dukes goals on saturday, I still think Sutton is better and will be that bit fresher. If we play this team I reckon we'd do the business, but I trust Jim Gannons judgement.
  13. And hopefully the argument over the penalty gives the game a wee bit of fire. Cannae beat a bit of handbags in a cup tie. I'm well up for this tomorrow. Moan The 'Well!!
  14. I must admit, at the time I was pissing myself laughing as it looked like he'd won the ball outside the box, but having seen it on TV, just the once at normal speed from a different angle, it looked like a penalty right enough. To be honest, I'm not sure, but I'm also not caring. Them's the breaks. Edit: I must admit, it's much easier to say that when it's your team that has benefitted. If we get put out of the cup tomorrow night with them getting a similar 'nalty, I hope I'm big enough to come on here the next day and say the same thing, but I'm not convinced I wouldn't be whinging like a big girl.
  15. I think we'll have a bigger crowd than saturday, but doubt we'll fill it. Hopefully the excitement of that second half will tempt an extra few along but with it being midweek, cold, other games on TV and potentially nightmare traffic enough folk will stay away to stop us selling it out I reckon. They'll all be there for the final though...
  16. Crazy_Diamond sling you a tenner for that post, aye?

So, just to summarise, you're Wellworn but yer strip willnae be?
  18. I think we should send the reserves out to kick lumps out of them before the Cup game...
  19. Old Firm fans are the worst, pure and simple. I'll excuse the ones who live in or around Parkhead/Govan, but the rest support their team for one of two reasons regardless of what anyone says: 1. Glory-hunting 2. Bigotry Fans of other clubs follow their team and, although some get on the players backs more than others, they wear their choice of scarf around their necks for the right reasons.
  20. We could win both or lose both quite easily. I'd take the cup win first though.
  21. Is there a reason why nobody has mentioned Neil Lennon?
  22. The other one from Thistle that I always remember from that time was Isaac English, although I was pretty indifferent to him to be honest. The reason I dislike Andy Millen was because, when he played for Hibs, he ended up going in goals at Fir Park. I'm pretty sure they still won the game and he was antagonising the 'Well fans behind the goals. I'll never forget his smug, evil wee face. Reminds me of the wee arsehole who played the guy who tried to rape William Wallaces wife in Braveheart.
  23. Dean Windass Andy Millen And the man who brought out the worst in the East Stand h*n Without the Bus Fare Brigade...
  24. Seems longer ago than ten years to me aswell. Me and you must both have the same good therapist. I was there, and it was truly bizarre. What I also thought was strange was that the goals were raining in on a night that had probably the two best goalies I've ever seen between the sticks.
