  1. Time will tell. I assume if he 'does a Pearson', you'll be posting a grovelling apology to me?
  2. Frazzie

    Supporters Trust?

Did anyone go to the AGM last night?
  3. Aye, I got it from Mark McGhee's laptop...
  4. Yeah, we could. But it wouldn't be the helicopter changing direction that day - it would be this guy...
  5. If these Twitter updates are going to continue to be so regular, might it be an idea to set up a wee Twitter Forum for you to post them on?
  6. I've already said I was being flippant. Get over yourself. You'd think I'd posted up some kiddy porn judging by the reaction of the 'holier than thou brilliant fans' on this forum...
  7. At least what I'm saying, whether it's harsh, uncalled for or whatever, is structured and considerred. Your posts on the matter have lent nothing to the debate, so I'm afraid that I've reached the conclusion that you, my friend, are the idiot.
  8. It was maybe a bit flippant, but can you not see how I would make the comparison? They're even both plooky and ginger firfuxake!
  9. I don't think I'm being OTT negative, but every noise we've heard has been a negative one, and they do say there's no smoke without fire. I'm not saying that the stories are true, and I hope they're not, even if you think it makes me look like a dick.
  10. I'm not going to boo him the next time he plays regardless, and all my criticism is based on "If the rumours are true...". Unfortunately, rumours are a part of football at every level and we can't just ignore the ones we don't like and circulate the positive ones. Also, the way football is these days with agents, etc makes such things easy to believe, whether we want to or not.
  11. I have never, at any point, claimed to have any inside information on the Paul Slane situation. But my opinion remains that IF he is holding us to randsom for more money and/or a move to Celtic then fuck him. If not, then I'll be as delighted as the next guy when he comes back from injury with a 3-year deal signed and terrorises defences in a claret and amber shirt before moving on in a couple of years for a fee. It is right that some sections of the 'Well support criticse everything, but it is also true that some sections of the 'Well support won't criticise anything. I am somewhere in the middle. If Paul Slane commits himself to Motherwell and gives 100% while he's here, then he'll get my full support, but it must be said that I am not a Paul Slane supporter, a Jim Gannon supporter or a John Boyle supporter (or, dare I say it, even a 'Flow supporter! ) - I am only a Motherwell supporter and I want who and what is best for my club.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but has this not now been three seperate injuries that has kept him out for this length of time? I could see your point if it was one bad injury that had been the problem. If the rumours are correct and it turns out that he's knocking back Motherwells offer for either: a)more money or b)a move to Celtic, would you not agree that would make him arrogant? At 17 thinking that he is worth more money than Forbes, Hutchison, etc or, worse still, thinking that he is too good to stay at 'Well is arrogant in my book. But again, that is only the case if the rumours are correct. As it stands, we have no real reason to believe or disbelieve them. But the longer that contract sits on the table unsigned with no comment coming from Slane or the club, then the more believable they become.
  13. I don't think you're helping your case mate. The last time there was a rumour on this forum, you came on and categorically denied it and the thread ground to a halt. The fact that you're contributing to this thread without denying the rumours is only adding fuel to the fire in my opinion. I've never met the lad so have no comment to make about his personality, but he seemed to be a funny, likeable wee guy going by his interview in the paper. I would suspect his agent/family are filling his head with nonsense but, then again, that would be jumping to conclusions aswell.
  14. I said early indications suggest that he's injury prone. He's missed twice as many games as he's played so far so I think that comment is justified. I also said a potential unsettling influence. I said potential because that would only be the case if these rumours are true. I don't know any better than you if they are or not. And I also said he could be classed as arrogant if he's holding out for more money than his peers. But again, neither you or I know if that is the case, but it's natural that people would jump to similar conclusions when a contract offer is left on the table. Quoting one word per sentence to describe what I said - you should see if Scott can get a job with the Sun!
  15. That's not the same as saying this one's not true...
  16. Aye, ok. Settle down. Wouldn't it be much more interesting if we set up a forum where post 2-102 on every thread were just folk going "Aye, you're right", "I agree" and "Good point"....? If you've nothing sensible to say then we'll just call a halt to this thread here, aye?
  17. I don't doubt that he's desperate to play. That's not really my point. If he's going to spend half his time on the treatment table amid rumours that he's choking to sign for Celtic then I won't be gutted to lose him. With the number of games that he's played for us, he should be signing the first decent contract that's put in front of him. If he thinks he's good enough to even mull over a (presumably) three year deal, then he's arrogant and thick. If I was Gannon, I'd be putting a deadline on him signing the contract before withdrawing it and adding what should have been his wage onto a contract offer for Giles.
  18. All I'm saying is, regardless of what team the boy supports, putting one (two at most) good performances aside, early indications suggest that he is injury prone and, if I was being harsh, arrogant and a potential unsettling influence. With the squad we have just now, I'm not sure we can afford to have a guy like that around, especially if he's negotiated a better deal than his peers, so I wouldn't be disgusted if he went to Celtic in January. The hype this season should add a bit to the original £40k quoted, so if we got six figures for him I'd take your arm off. Even £40k with a sell-on clause would please me.
  19. He played one great game in Europe, against a pub team. Other than that, what exactly has he done for Motherwell to even command a first team contract with us, never mind Celtic? The fact that he's got a re-occurring injury which has kept him out for the first couple of months of the season (so far) doesn't bode well either. At the very least he should be making some sort of public statement regarding his situation. Since he hasn't done that, it's easy to see why people would assume the worst. He's done less for us than all the boys who have signed. He either has some ego on him, or he's being ill-advised. Either way, it only suggests to me that he's not the type of guy I'd want in my dressing room. Harsh, but fair.
  20. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out, son.
  21. I think Celtic are very beatable, but I'm just afraid we don't have the right type of player to beat them. Haven't watched loads of Celtic games this season, but the Rangers and Vienna goals against them came from their backline misjudging, hesitating and being outpaced by the striker. Unfortunately, the closest we have to that type of striker is Jamie Murphy, who I don't think is ready to lead the line at Parkhead. I'd give my left arm to have a Skippy, McCormack or even Clarkson in a 'Well shirt on saturday.
  22. Is it just me who isn't totally convinced by his consistency yet? Could well be another Pearson at this point.
  23. Been lucky enough to have met quite a lot of players and former players over the years. Obviously arranging the Phil O'Donnell night at the Civic I was in the company of the creme de la creme of legends over the past half century and they were all spot-on and happy to come along and support the cause, of course. I must give a special mention to big Craig Paterson though - I had given all the former players and guests my mobile number and I would come and let them in the side door as they arrived. 15 minutes before the doors were opening, the queue was spiralling round the car park and down Airbles Road, and I had a glance out (shat my breeks when I saw the crowd) and saw Paterson in the middle of the crowd. When I went out and ushered him in, he seemed embarrassed to be getting special treatment, was an all round decent guy and I always think he talks a lot of sense on Scotsport. Along similar lines, when I asked Joe Wark for his address to get him picked up for the evening, he replied "Och naw, ah've got mah bus pass noo - I'll jump on the number 92". I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if Joe Wark had to get the bus to something I was running, especially considerring the effort he put in himself in rounding up the troops for it, but he took a fair bit of persuasion. Again, another top bloke and real legend.
  24. I don't think there's any need to go over the reasons 'Well fans don't like going to Parkhead - they've been well enough documented on here. I'm still undecided on whether to go or not. On the one hand, I'm desperate to do my first ever 'clean sweep' and with one Aberdeen trip already out of the way, Inverness out of the equation and no holidays/weddings coming up over the rest of the season, I have a real chance. On the other hand, I hate going to the two Glesga' middens and would rather put the £25 in Colins till. Will probably take me until the last minute to decide, but part of me would be raging if we won and I didn't go.
  25. What about Sorrento in Australia and Workington Reds in the North of England? What are they all about? I'm sure there's a 'Well link of some sort there.
