Depends who it's against. Dundee Utd at Tynecastle would be magic. If it's the Old Firm, best with Hampden to maximise the cash. Wouldn't enjoy playing them at Tyne with 2/3s of the stadium filled with vermin. At least at Hampden they're not right on top of you.

It doesn't exist as he doesn't know the difference between claret and amber. I think he means the one that was mainly white with black panels on the side, with a wee claret line down it. Fairly sure it was Xara and Motorola.

A 'Well fan who doesn't know the difference between claret and amber...

That season, we had three really good strips. The hoop all the way round, the pyjama top and the black were all nice enough. Worst home strip - Jester. Worst away strip - Motorola Hummell(?) tyre track thing circa '93. Best home strip - I always liked the mid-eighties Ian Skelly shirt with claret band and claret sleeves, but I think that is maybe because it was my first ever shirt. The Bukta home strips take a bit of beating aswell, to be fair. Won't comment on the iconic sash, etc as they were before my time and I don't think you can properly judge unless you have your own memories of it. Best away strip - The current one could well be a contender, but my favourite is probably either the black one above with the MFC embroidered, or the luminous 'Shivute' one. Although I as I said above I like the two from '94 aswell. All in all, I'd certainly say we've had more good kits than bad, but the bad ones have been awful.

Aye, my name is now Mr FirParkCorner Football Club. So, wiz it me then?
-
Sorry Shug! Naw, that's fine. I'm not disputing what you're saying at all, just making sure it was nothing to do with me!
-
I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about, Hugh, but when 'Flow approached me about the heart monitors, my response to him was that it was a no-brainer in my view and didn't forsee any objections from the rest of the board. I was wrong.

I don't think the Trust will be interested in this forum now. All of the existing board members, with the obvious exception of Andy Ross, claim not to visit this site. It was myself and Speedie who were interested in acquiring this site when it was going through its transitional period. I don't think we'd have wanted too much in return - the database was the most important thing, with a link to the Trust site and a wee bit of propaganda not going a miss, of course. Anyway, has anyone decided they want to lead this revolution yet?
-
I personally, and FirParkCorner FC as a Motherwell supporters team, would support it in any way possible.

Man, I was really looking forward to that Kendal game...

Someone has to stand against him to be voted off. I'm pretty sure if Peter Tobin stood against him, Martin Rose would be out the door, but it simply hasn't happened. You're right, Steve, when you say you can't have another Trust. But you can have another fans movement. You can have as many of them as the fanbase dictates. The only thing a new movement wouldn't be able to have while the Trust still exists would be shares in the club, but should that be the priority anyway? Most people criticise the Trust board members for wanting to grab onto shares for their own prestige and power, so the absence of that would kill that stigma for any new group. Even if it was set up purely as a fundraising group, if and when the time ever comes when the fans need a voice to the club, do you think they would go to the new group with 500 members and a big pot of cash and a few solid seasons of activity and being recognised, or would they turn to the half a dozen guys in blazers who meet once a month to shuffle paper because they have worthless shares? I will say at this point that I would wholeheartedly support any group that is created, but I don't think it would be appropriate for me to be involved in the running of it given the damage the Trust will undoubtedly have done to my personal reputation. Come on folks- money where your mouth is time!

Gaag - that was the very point I was about to make. You should relate to people who want to try to get the Trust off the ground. Most people would acknowledge that a good Trust would be a good thing for all, but nobody seems to want to take it on. It's the same situation as when 'Flow gave up this site. Nobody wanted the site to close but everyone, myself included, shirked the responsiblilty of taking it on. You should relate when you've done something for the good of the 'Well support and you regularly take pelters for it. That's how I felt when I was on the Trust board.
-
I can fully understand the reasons for not joining the Trust, but what skills or experience do you need to start up your own movement? Hee-haw if you ask me. Just a bit of spare time and dedication. But it's easier to snipe than 'do', innit...?
-
Well, go on then! Typing all the good intentions of the world in here won't lay a single brick. A well-supported Motherwell fans fundraising movement, beginning now, could probably pay for a stand by the time we get to Ravenscraig! But I'm not holding my breath...
-
Don't take it personally Emmjay - you're not the only purveyor of tedious chat in the Steelmenonline community. Far from it. And I do include myself in the same category, before anyone pipes up.

I am one of these wankbags. I talk utter, utter pish from the first minute to the last at the fitba'. If you don't like it, there's another 13,000+ seats. I certainly won't be stopping the drivvel. And for what it's worth, my patter at the fitba', as chronic as it can be on occasion (like the games themselves), it is certainly no worse than some of the material on these forums that is lauded by the masses...
-
That's all well and good, but the past couple of AGMs clearly show that the Trust currently struggle to get a dozen 'Well fans to meet once a year, never mind once a month. And if they've spent the last six months in breach of their own constitution, then surely something has to be done?
-
Did it say on your documentation who was still on the board? By my reckoning it would be Martin Rose, Sandra Aird, John Wilson, Jim Frame, Andy Ross and Alistair Stewart. Six folk. And this is from the MST Constitution.... "54. With effect from the Society’s first annual general meeting, the Society Board is to have not less than 8 and not more than 15 members and will be made up as follows: a) 12 members of the Society Board or such higher number as shall be required so that elected members of the Board are in the majority over co-opted members will be elected by the members in accordance with such arrangements as shall be determined by the Society Board: up to 3 members will be co-opted by the Society Board in accordance with a Board Membership Policy which it will develop and adopt." So technically does that mean they are not able to continue, even if they want to?

Aye, I know that, but I always think closure is a good thing when this sort of thing happens. For me, it would have been ideal to have unveiled it at the Inverness game on the anniversary of his death, to allow for a last bit of public poignancy and then to have something that people can look at when they are at matches so they can privately spare a thought for Phil when the moment catches them. Dredging it all up again when it does get unveiled seems a bit unnatural to me, although I acknowledge that everyone reacts differently to this type of situation.

I got my stuff out from the Trust out yesterday and even though I didn't really read it, it was suggested that the ball was already rolling on the memorial. It didn't specify what it was going to be, but I'm sure I read someone say (maybe 'Flow) that folk had been commissioned to do something. As for the game, I haven't a clue. I think/hope that it won't happen now. Even unveiling a memorial this long after Uncle Phils death doesn't quite sit right with me.
-
Aye, I think we basically agree with each other on most of the points about the Trust, which doesn't make for great debate! Oh well - over and out from me aswell then!
-
Well stop going on about it then! Nah, in all seriousness, I'm absolutely gutted about how things have turned out with the Trust, and I wish I'd never got involved. I feel guilty by association in a way, but I do genuinely believe that the concept of a Supporters Trust is a good thing for a club like ours, and it's a shame that the club and fans don't get the benefit of it. It would be completely out of order if I, as a past board member, came on here and publicly slated folk who are still serving on the board, but it is pretty obvious that a change is needed but, to be blunt, I'd be tempted to say that too much damage has already been done for a recovery to be made.
-
Why don't you go along to the AGM and put your point across? It's obvious that all other avenues of communication are all but closed, so surely if you ask whatever questions you may have to the faces of the people in question, that would get you the answers you're looking for? Not excusing the horrendous communication - don't get me wrong - but going along would maybe give you some closure on the issues that are bugging you.
-
Sorry, can't help myself... What are the opening hours for the Club Shop?
-
Actually, to my mind, Motherwell 'officially' saying it's ok is probably the only thing that could lead to some sort of negative consequence for them to be honest. Turning a blind eye certainly wouldn't.
