  1. I hope also that the couple of competitive matches will be a leveller for the conditions that we aren't used to. The main thing will be to keep it tight and make sure their young players don't get any encouragement from a positive start. We've already shown the team can play possession football. this will work in our favour in the heat and not as much expectation on us to chase the game in an away leg. oh and an away goal would be nice

Appreciate the extra bit of detail around the replicas. Now since I seem to be the only person interested in what our away kit might be I'll leave this thread alone and concentrate on the match threads.
  3. sounds promising. great of those with streams/p2p/whatever could keep these boards up to speed with what's happening. C'mon the Well!

I agree. i don't think the club or PSL are out to mislead - I'm just interested in the detail that's all. and to take Steve's point about timing, I'm not necessarily looking for an immediate answer, especially on a match day. Just posing the question and hoping it will be answered.

the usual sarky post however as another poster has commented why do we have these boards for fans of the club if we are just going to wait for an official announcement every time. part of the "fun" of supporting a club is to get into the miniscule elements. there are also plenty of discussion forums available to discuss the wider state of the economy, impact of redundancies etc. I share your empathy with people in these circumstances however it's not the main subject of these forums.

Nothing except it was less than two days later that Canterbury officially announced administration - that doesn't just happen without some warning so if the club/PSL got their stock delivered ahead of 13th July that is good news. However, and i say again, I would appreciate a statement saying we had an away strip delivered. Alan's post said August - maybe that was just for replicas but, again as I said, given the keeper top was displayed I would have thought we would have seen some sort of evidence of an away strip if it is available. I also understand the statement - i'm asking for clarification on the away strip. Why should it be so difficult to confirm one way or another if we have an away strip?

Dave, most people are generally taking the Canterbury administration as one of these things that happens to Motherwell and, especially, in the current climate - not a conspiracy theory or rumour mill. Some of us are genuinely interested in a definitive statement around whether the club has an "official" away strip or not. Not looking for a glimpse of a design or a statement saying it will be delivered but a statement that says MFC have in their possession an away kit to cover the first team squads anticipated requirements during a football season. Just the facts man. JT

and given that he wore blue in the 2nd leg does that mean the pink didn't wash properly?

not trying to be overly pessimistic but can we really rely on the club statement given quote above?

the statement says we have sufficient kit - as you say it is only an assumption that there is an away kit. I think that is the wrong assumption to make after all the goalies' tops were displayed before being on sale so why not have a display of an away top by now? even if we won't be able to buy a replica. does any know what the official position is re registration of kit for playing in in the spl/cups or europe for that matter. could we just use the claret training gear if necessary? JT
  11. archdeacon on. is he a straight replacement for sutton?
  12. can someone not help Saunders with his shoe laces. he lost his boot last week as well
  13. wierd. I have BBC ahead of pictures. what was Fraser up to?
  14. just as they were looking dangerous as well. phew!
  15. great to see a new signing who is youngish, not just on the Scottish club merry-go-round, a good reputation so far, and seems excited to play for 'Well. JT
  16. but I reckon I'm going to need a bigger box
  17. yeah we probably would be moaning but without too much attention. this defeat is a wee bit more public http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/n...sid=843943.html
  18. so think what a superstar o'brien could be with coaching and some fan backing and what we could do with £80m of Real's money in a couple of years
  19. we've just sold Clarkson aged nearly 24 on the back of two reasonably good seasons for us. not sure anyone would have paid 600k for him this time 2 seasons ago so regardless of relativity of youth i think Jim O'brien is a younger player who will improve with coaching and encouragement of fans.
  20. Agree. All the talk about the youngsters being given a chance should remember that O'Brien is still just that - a youngster who (hopefully) will benefit from Gannon's coaching.
  21. never said it was the only factor and i agree wouldn't in itself stop someone coming to play for us. more importantly will be the fact that european football is on shaky ground and the associated prize money which could have funded a players wages might not be forthcoming. and without beating it to death about the kit - yes i did notice the difference in colour and i wasn't the only one - a number of people around me commented on it. plus if you knew there would be problems reproducing the colour why design the kit like that. why not white or claret shorts?

point taken although canterbury do teamwear themselves and presumably they manage to get the same colour in the shorts as in the top if required!
