  1. No acctually your failure to understand the point that i am making, and it's not completely serious undertones, quite evident from the black and white (excuse the pun) point that i am making would suggest that it is you who is inferiour in intelect than myself. For fuck sake take the tinted glasses of argument off before you read what i am saying recently, the is NOTHING racist about calling someone a 'black bastard' if a) the person is black in skin colour and B) a bastard. And can i mind you that this all started because i said that i personally couldn't give a fuck what people shout at football (racist, sectarian or whatever). that's PERSONALLY ... however i also noted that it wasn't 'socially acceptable' . Anyway,it was never intended as an argument, however on here people are very very quick to call people things when they disagree with anothers point....thankfully,some of us don't get so heated back. Also, you've made two contributions to this last few pages, one to call someone a 'hardman' when they were just making a point that seemed fair enough to me,and to call me 'thick'. Thank you for the deep and thoughtfull contribution you have made.
  2. Yep,you completely misunderstood the point - your a wanker..... see what i did? I pointed out what i was saying by stating a truth, you are indeed...a wanker, as am i...and every other guy who posts on here. Unless theres someone who doesny enjoy a wee shandy now and again. 'One thick bastard' well.....that would be incorrect, because i am not thick. Therefore,do you have a point here orrrr......
  3. LOL i know of at least three or four people on these boards who i grew up with a went to parkhead or ibrox regularly until the last 5 years - and i know this because, i was usually on the same bus. People change, i'll never deny that i will probably always like rangers over celtic etc - but i go to fir park now,and have done for 5-6 years. That's where loyalties lie now.
  4. No see your being a bit silly now. Theres a big difference from what i was talking about to picking on someone with a disability. Being black yellow gold or purple is nothing, theres nothing effectivly wrong with that, people will be proud of their colour. Being from somewhere is your home, your proud of that. If your a f****n then your hardly going to be upset about being called a f****n - if your not one, then you'll not break sweat over it will you. Being disabled is a WHOLE different ball game altogether mate, and terminally ill aswell that's something people usually would prefer not to be. And'white bastard' well yes acctually - i work with a HELLUVA lot of asian mate and quite often they will tell other asians who work with me that they don't trust me because i am white. The thing is they just don't think i understand the Lingo ye know. I am a white, christian male.....and on those grounds probably the most under-represented race in the world on racial issues,it appears naebody can be racist against us. When someone calles me a'white bastard' then it usually because i am white, and being a bastard. If someone called me a specky bastard, it's because i am known to wear specks at times, and i am being a bastard. If i call someone a black bastard,it's probably because they are black....and being a bastard. Sometimes people are quick to use racism as a shortened version of, 'good old fashioned honesty'.
  5. He He He mayby i just don't take myself or any insults people may choose to hurl at me as serious as some people do. I've seen it before, someone says a wrong word to someone and as you say they, 'break their jaw'. Unless someones acctually in my face trying to make me look stupid or intimidating me i never really feel the need to, 'break their jaw'. Strange world this eh, everyone being different and all. As for the health and safety bit about stadiums - thanks and all that but i am very well awear of health and safety rules, also the smoking ban and social standing on profanity - i was just saying that personally,i couldn't give a root tooting fuck - sadly, however, it isn't up to me and i just wish people would dae what the fook they were telt once in a while eh no?
  6. I wasn't having a go mate, and ok mcnamara should have stayed put bt then i widney have fancied being in front of that 80mph shot - and the ball was in the net before kerr touched the soil anaw. No keeper would have got it unless they were standing right there............. I seem to remember Alberts thundering a good few by Celtic in his time, along with a lot of other teams. The main part of my point was below that tho.....
  7. First lesson, teach them how to save a Jorg Alberts free-kick - oh,that's right Seriously though, i'm glad this guys still in football after his career took a bit of a tumble through injury. All the best
  8. mayby just depends on the person saying it i might call someone from ireland an irish bastard, and they might call me a scottish bastard bt in the end - were aw just bastards.
  9. see to be honest i just dont understand why people canny dae what their telt for 90 minutes. You get told not to stand up - people keep standing up. You get told not to smoke - people keep lighting up smokes. You get told not to be racist/sectarian - people keep being racist/sectarian. You get told not to throw things - people keep throwing things. That's not just Motherwell obviously it's every football crowd in Scotland (where these rules apply). It might seem like everyones out to spoil the fun here with football - i don't particularly agree with a lot of the rules in scottish football. I'll put my neck out here and probably get slaughtered for it but here goes, i don't see why you canny stand up,makes fuck all sense to me as long as it's generally agreeable with those around you and you don't upset everyone around you. I don't agree with throwing things because it's really no that difficult to hurt someone,ANYONE around ye - especially kids or that. Heres the bit i might get slaughtered for - see if it wasn't for kids at football i wouldn't see the problem with anything that gets shouted at football either. I couldney care less if someone gets called a h*n,f****n black bastard whatever - i've never seen where the line was between calling someone a fat bastard, ugly bastard or black bastard - 9/10 they are usually true - it's all just descriptive words - it's no like your going out to cause them any harm because of these 'defects',it's just WORDS. The fact of the matter is that kids do go to football though, and kids do pick up on things that we sometimes wish they wouldn't - and for that matter everything would just be a damned sight better if people would sit on their arse, refrein from throwing things at people and calling them anything society might class a little to nasty. Mayby i've completely lost my passion for football these days or something but there is far much more to life than what happens on that wee green space - about time people chilled out a little and ENJOYED going to watch the football rather than using it for anger managment.
  10. its what makes the game great at times. Over the years there has been some belting get it right up you moments. Some of them just happen without the player really winding up the fans aswell. It all seems more aggressive now and less banterfull though - shame really. People are keen to take their fustrations out on footballers at times because they feel safe to do so because 99/100 the player canny react to what gets said etc. I bet if a player came up to some people who hoard them with abuse all the time and told them to meet them out in the carpark for a square go after the game they'd be shiting themself. Footballers are human beings, lucky human beings but football as much as it is a joyous thing to do is still their job - if someone came to where i work and gave me pelters i'd probably end up booting them - footballers don't get that chance.
  11. The best one that i can remember seeing was celtic fans giving Gazza a bloody hard time about beating up his wife, being a fat bastard etc etc etc. I remember it well and there was some hefty hefty abuse getting shouted at him - he waited till he was near them and done the not infamous flute action. He got hammered for it,sectarianism blah blah etc but yea know what i doubt he cared because it didny half get right up the noses of the 'holier than thou' celtic fans who wanted him banned for life etc for what he done because it could have 'sparked a riot' - if a player making a wee hand gesture could spark a riot a think its the fans and not the player who has problems.
  12. Oh aye don't get me wrong i certainly wasn't having a go. I'll happily put my hands up to being one of the people who feared that relegation could very well be a reality this season after losing such a huge part of the squad from the past few seasons. However,as much as it is early days i don't think relegation should be a problem this season and some of the work done has been absolutely amazing. However, when things seem to be going well we all get greedy don't we - and that's all i was saying as such, it would be nice to finish off some chances.
  13. Who do half of you think you are? For fuck sake you want to abuse a man from start to finish and the slightest wee 'get it up you' back from him and you want to kick fuck out of him. See if your going to be like that don't bother going to football because for months some people (the same ones) have been nothing but a fucking embarassment. They want to greet about stewards telling them to sit down during the match and act like a mistreated kid anytime someone does anything remotely against them - yet they want to dish out abuse all the time to others. Fucking get a grip it's the same people all the time - half of you couldn't fight sleep yet you parade about like you own the place aswell. Good on the hibs guy, see if someone abused a motherwell player and he done it - he'd be your fucking hero. Grow up.
  14. I noticed this blatantly at the game against rangers. There is noone to put the ball in the net on a regular basis and its a shame because motherwell are playing some very nice football and creating some good chances. The failure to score in and around the penalty area i think could cost Motherwell a top 4 slot this season and it's a shame because of all the good work that's been put in and the level of ability some of the young guys have.
  15. That's what i took from it aswell, and i think he loan move did help because sometimes a wee step back from the comfort zone into the real mire of football can be the right guidance to make a player stick in and full credit to the boy cause he's doing exceptionally well. If he can continue it over a few seasons he could go places in the game.
  16. I think he is just a very genuinly nice guy and obviously has a very good feel about motherwell and appreciates where he came from in a sense. He also comes across as reasonably intelligent aswell which is a change for a lot of ex-footballers
  17. Aye he was good and it's nice to see. One wee point though, i'm only mentioning this because of things people were blowing out of proportion in the pub last night.....can we all just realise that rangers WERE poor yesterday. Motherwell played very very well and made rangers look even poorer, however - even with motherwell playing out their skin, they never really made mcgregor earn his wages so can we get this whole big idea out our head that motherwell shoulda won at a canter? (and i dont mean on here as much, but some of the people last night were talking as if motherwell walked all over rangers - the stats don't lie, rangers could easily have put the ball in the back of the net on a lot more occassions than motherwell yesterday - the fact a lot of people are nominating ruddy for MOTM would go to prove that.........) One thing i did notice today was, see that fucking dream team on the sinday mail. ALLAN MCGREGOR in goals - as i've just said, apart from saving the penalty - he hardly done anything other than take by kicks for 90minutes whilst Ruddy had a few good saves! Obviously i didn'y see the 90mins of the other games yesterday but suerly someone was more deserving than Mcgregor.

    Penalty

I think your spot on that's what i thought aswell, not that it matters now anyway but upon closer inspection as much as what you are saying is accurate i think he had already tripped HIMSELF up before bougherra did and was going to go down whatever. Not that it matters at all anyway, the decision was made and that's that - i don't think many rangers fans will be to incenced by the decision. It wasn't a complete stonewaller but it wasn't the softest penalty ever given either .
  19. I think Motherwell were very unlucky not to win it at the end there. I think a draw was a fair result over the piece but i was particularly impressed with some parts of the game. I think Rangers, probably inevitably had 70minutes where they had more of the ball in the motherwell half than motherwell did in the rangers half but what i see was a bunch of young guys out there who were playing vastly experienced players in a team thats been together for a couple of years now in rangers and defended with great maturity. Any time rangers had the ball - and dont get me wrong here as much as motherwell deserve full credit for the way they played Rangers were absolutely awful today and had no flow in their play at all - Motherwell boys stood their ground and broke down the play without any stupid lunging tackles that a lot of young players might have done under the excitment of playing rangers for their first time. I thought the last ten minutes however rangers lost it completely and were defending amateurly so motherwell were very unlucky not to score - just the story of the game however that neither team had any conviction in from of goal today just one of they days and one of they games. I was dissapointed to see so many empty seats at the game today but then im not surprised either. Money is tight for a lot of people just now and suerly filling every seat for half the price would be better than leaving them empty, no? Mayby i'm wrong,i don't know how to run a football club and i'm not going to pretend otherwise, however in simple business terms it would seem that way to me. The games live on sky sports that just about every pub/household up and down the country has these days yet we want 20quid a skull to sit in the stand? Mayby i'm wrong,i don't know. The penalty today - i think it probably was a penalty,i thought it was but again it was quite soft i don't think bougerra really fouled the man i think he tripped over his own feet but mayby a slight bit of contact around that time gave it away - i seen it about ten times and im still unsure the ref only gets one glimpse. Im not sure what Bougerra got sent off for to be honest - if it was backchat to the ref then he can feel hard done by because it was clearly seen on sky that earlier in the game he didn't book one of the motherwell players for the same backchat,he gave him a warning instead. The penalty itself i don't think was badly hit at all i think he done well o'brian however i would have to give full credit to mcgregor because for my money that was one of the best penalty saves i've seen in my lifetime really. Shame for o'brian though would have been a nice wee confidence booster for him. Over the piece im sure Gannon, like anyone would be very pleased by the performance. When you look at the fixture list at the start of the season yuo probably dont budjet for many points against the old firm. But Motherwell have a good record at home against rangers and i think they did remarkably well today, full credit to a young team and were very unlucky not to win it at the end.
  20. Martin Rose is a strange strange man - very much out for self interest in my opinion. A lot of people on here, myself included - have said for a good few years now that he was the main probelm behind the MST and should be given the boot.
  21. It's a long drive up to aberdeen - you'd think in that amount of time something more original than 'pedo' would have been thought up,obviously not. I really really fail to see how shouting 'pedo' to someone who...isney a pedo.....can be in anyway funny?? Am i missing something? And as for f****n? I wasn't there so i canny comment on this particular case however i've heard the words 'f****n' and 'orange bastard' paraded about Fir Park a fucking MILLION times soooooooo it widney surprise me if it was used either.
  22. People were angry at Mcghee for the way he left the club and some of the things he said when he did. The best way to put that across was singing some good witty songs that motherwell fans are normally quite good at and making mr mcghee look stupid. Sinking to the boring level of pedo chants just made the motherwell fans look pretty stupid .....and who got the last laugh, Mcghee - who can go and say his bit in the Sunday Mail and make Motherwell fans look bloody stupid. Mcghee 1- 0 M'well Fans. Good show
  23. Bring them at 7+ i would say but only if they have a pal with them. I used to take my wee cousin all the time to games and up until he was about 11 he would get bored stiff after ten minutes and ask all sorts of annoying questions. Depends on the kid i suppose but make sure there is another kid there they can play the nintendo DS with if it's a 0-0 borefest
  24. I'm not a member - nor have i been so i probably have absolutely no right to comment. However my reason for not being isn't because i was against the idea of the MST - it just seemed anytime i seen a AGM etc that it was all very cloak and dagger stuff among members and constant bitching about each other behind their backs - hardly a steady ship. Anyway,i hope it all works out for ye - sadly,i think it would take a total clear-out and starting from scratch for that to happen.
  25. to be fair i dont wash my hands after every pish - especially when im out scooping and pishing every two minutes. Tae be fair am holding ma knob,,,,nae pish near me really.but hey. To the original point - many folk from yesteryear probably don't expect great facilities but 20 years ago (yes the 80's was at least that long ago now) it didny cost a score to go watch the football either - so if we are paying through the arse to go to the game i don't think its beyond reason to expect half decent facilities and that includes toilets, sound system etc. I think sometimes peoples loyalty to the club stops them from criticising things when they should be, many clubs - motherwell included have been getting away with a lot of sub standard facilities for a long time. if ye went out for a meal and the restaurant didny supply a knife and fork with your fillet steak youd be mightely pissed off and rightly complain - so why accept getting the pish ripped out ye by a football club. obviously im criticising a lot more than just a dodgy tap here, but the points relevent.
