  1. Great result, im sure with all the un-heavel since last season with key players leaving and a new gaffer a lot of people (including myself) were rather sceptical and uncertain as to how the season may pan out. I think it will still be a long hard season ahead but with the way motherwell are knocking the ball about just now is great and a real credit to jim gannon and the boys in the team. Beating anyone 3-1 is a good result and one we'd all have taken nae both before kick off. By the way, from what i've heard from ma mate who was at the accies game they are as good as down awready
  2. I havn't read the article and i can't be arsed either but if he did say it.....nae biggy! I'd be more pissed off if he said, " i love motherwell and always wanted to play here". Which we all know would be bullshit.
  3. Quite a few used to read it, a few used to want to know the identity of some posters aswell on here at one point a few years ago..........infact at one point a few wanted to punch a few posters about a bit. I honestly canny remember what posters it was now but it was quite funny for a while.
  4. It would appear celtic are interested in young Slane......................evening times or something i heard.

considering a few quid has been whacked off the wage bill aswell ud think there would be some money lying about. Never know to be fair 250k is a lot of money for a player to most spl clubs right now. Do motherwell not budget to go out the cups at the first possible round and finish 11th in the league - suerly if they do better than that some extra money would be created. thing is i think they should try keep him till the end of the season on loan if everton are up for it because realisticly - the other keepers no up to it.

    Paul Mcgrillen

Tragic news can only think of them that were close to him like anyone in these situations well hero or not he was still a son, a friend...family.
  7. i've used my RBS maestro card in some very very very far flung out places. Anywhere that accepts mastercard will accept maestro aswell............u should be fine. Maestro has been used in the wierdest wee bank machine in a far flung out part of india when a was there, so it should be fine in Romania.
  8. Wow WOW WOW can we take a wee reality check somewhere here. Gannon is playing with what he has at his disposal right now whereas mcgee didn't have such restrictions to play with. Also, one good result against a unknown team that we have nae idea how good the really are in perspective doesn't make a season. Let's wait tae a balls been kicked in the SPL first and then decide if the young boys are going to be good enough. Time gentlemen...please.
  9. I've read the book and have a copy....somewhere in my maws hoose. When i bought it i wasn't sure what to expect - the fact someone from Motherwell was literate enough to write a book was surprise enough . When i did read it though, and then afterwards spoke to the author himself i'd say the whole purpose of this book isn't to particularly glamorise violence but give more of a birds eye view of what happened from one persons perspective. Nostalgic? I wouldn't say particularly - i mean yeah probably in parts (havn't read the book in a long time) but i wouldn't say it was really in your face nostalgic because there a bit more to the book than that. Listen at the end of the day it's a good read and it's not a case of, "oh we leathered this c**t and that c**t n then battered this guy"........theres a lot more build up to events going on and a lot more about the 'lifestyle' aspect than you might expect aswell. Top book fae a top guy

    Player #4

Good news, i think that was the position that was going to cause Motherwell most of their problems next season as i don't think the guy Frazer is up to it - but good news and well done gaffer.
  11. Great result for motherwell tonight even more so when you cinsider the team is made up of young guys and been put together only in the last few weeks in the turmoil of losing a manager and a good chunk of their team, especially key players. Congratulations to everyone involved really, fairytale stuff..... i am getting the feeling this team are pish mind you,and it could be argued after last weeks result it's MOTHERWELL who arn't good at travelling...............but the history books state it all,in a european night....motherwell fair shafted sum team.
  12. .........And why is this a problem for some people?? Im not getting at the guy i've quoted here im getting at a few others ive read recently. What on gods green earth gives any motherwell fan the fucking right to comment on a players ambition because they went to league 1 etc in england. Lets not forget that the standard of football in the SPL right now,ESPECIALLY outside the old firm (who are a joke themselves in their standard of play) is a laughing stock to most countries in europe. Yeah a few players might come along to the old firm to play in europe every year and get decnet wages but the scottish league is a total disaster right now and motherwell are one of the 8 clubs who are 'nothings' in the scheme of things. They don't win anything and play for a top 6 place in a league of 12 teams every season - can we just get that stright here? When we talk ambition i wouldn't class that FACT as any more ambitious than a team in league 1 or any other league in england for the matter. The difference is in england you get paid a helluva lot more for the privilege of fucking about year in year out achieving nothing more than stability. That's a few times this week i've seen 'lack of ambition' trotted out over players leaving Motherwell and it's honestly made me laugh out loud at times. Are we forgetting that if it wasn't for league reconstruction (twice) Motherwell would have been in the scottish league one and god forbid would probably have wilted into oblivion by now. Motherwell....rangers...celtic....any other club in the SPL....when players leave to league 1, i would almost consider it a side-step....... such is the absolutely awful state of football in Scotland right now. I wouldn't blame ANY player for wanting to leave scottish football with the lack of money being invested in the game, the lack of talent in the game, and the lack of support either. It's our league so we love it,we live for it - but lets not try to be elitest when our top flight is no stronger than most other countries slightly lower divisions.
  13. Are we still talking madeline mccann?? Awk Stephen hughes was a good player - for motherwell,a very good player. ok mayby he didn't burst a gut week in week out but thats all opinion. Mayby he was trying his arse off but the players around him wern't of substantial quality to help him shine either. When all is said and done hes away to a club giving very GOOD wages to an albeit AVERAGE footballer. When offers like that come along loyalty or anything else gets fucked out the window. 7k per week is 364k per year - probably a nice wee signing on fee involved aswell in his back pocket. If he can play 4 years on 7k a week he can retire safe in the knowledge that being an average footballer has made him a millionaire and his family will want for nothing - that is worth all the loyalts or bullshit from fans the world over.family comes first, fuck your employer or their fans to be honest. Look after number 1 good luck to him, always thought he was a decent enough wee player who could shine at the level he's playing at - henceforth gaining an even bigger move.
  14. Celtic - Will need to add at least another 3 new faces of some quality before they will be in any shape to win the title - could all go very very wrong for the 'celtic minded dream team'. May do well domestically as i feel european football will be missing from celtic park this year. Rangers - Depends on what happens, if they lose some other key players like bougherra or mendes/davies then they could struggle. If not i think they are stick on champions this season as their team is stronger than that of celtic. Whatever happens it will be a very very boring team that wins the league. Nothing to excite the fans. Aberdeen - Good squad of players. Will depend how they react to the new manager but all going well i can see them finishing 3rd at a canter. Dundee Utd - Steady and reliable but could easily go very stale. Hearts - Boring ... average....probably 5th Motherwell - Have lost a lot of key players and their manager this year. New regiem needs time to settle in and make an impact unfortunately time is something that they do not have an motherwell must sign some decent quality replacments with experience for those they have lost and the new team must gel and hit the ground running or else a very very long hard season may be ahead. Should have no relegation worries as current squad is still stronger than a few others in the league.Mayby one to watch next season with the right direction. Hibs - Could suffer what i expect celtic to do. Good football but with no end product. Could Struggle St Johnstone - Not a bad squad thats quite settled, should survive. St Mirren - Nothing exciting but safe. Accies - In very serious trouble. Like motherwell, lost some key players over the close season with possibly more to go. Unlike Motherwell the rest of the squad isn't strong enough to build a team on. Relegation is a very real prospect. Falkirk - Anything could happen as a fresh star happens for the bairns mainly playing WITH bairns - good luck to them,i hope they survive and may put on a good show along the way inheriting Yogis nice football but perhaps with a big of steel this term. Killie - Probably the most stale team in the league however with that comes a certain steadiness that might scrape them by for another season....Just! In no particular order
  15. I think some of the comments have been a bit harsh here. The guys went down south to where the big money is to a club who are looking for ambition and looking to go places over the next few years, spending money. In my opinion that's a bit of a step up. Yeah let's look at Motherwell, did well and got into europe the past two seasons.....noone can take that away from Motherwell and dare they try. But what about next season?? I'll be honest and call me mr pessemistic if you wish but unless we HEAVILY strengthen the squad i wouldn't write relegation off - remember we have effectivly lost the whole backbone of our team over the past 18 months. You never know i could be very wrong and i hope that i am, but i sense a long and difficult season ahead. So what if Buzz didn't tell the world what he was doing, that's his business at the end of the day and the move he has made is for himself and his own family security - financially speaking anyway. He hasn't exactly said anything bad about motherwell either, just stated a fact - it would have been the same if he had played for any other club in the SPL. As someone said lets remember that Smith to isn't exactly the greatest goalkeeper of all time.decent yes but realistically he wasn't going to get a move to the premiership was he because quite simply....he isn't up to the standard. He has made the best of the cards laid out in front of him, fair play i say.
  16. He is a good guy and he wouldn't have ment any malice in those comments. I would say that the move probably is a move up....financially at least.
  17. To be honest at this early stage i would have been calling for the head of publicly funded body execitive who wasted money sending camera crews or even paying for a studio for a game that is so early in a competition. If it was rangers or celtic...mayby aye, why? because these clubs have a massive fan base who would have watched the game however motherwell have an average attendence not a kick in the arse off of 5000 so the amount of people wanting to tune in at dinnertime on a thursday night when the biggest golf competition in the country is in full swing would be miniscule.......probably be lucky if it was 1000. Hopefully motherwell progress then people can start making noises about television.
  18. Wish i was watching this sadly my computer appears to be deciding otherwise tonight. Not to worry...... Sounds like a strange game though.
  19. Im not watching the game....and im not commenting on anyone in particular. But what appears to be the problem with someone criticising a player (EVEN IF THEY ARE YOUNG) for having a pish game.?? We've all been out for dinner and complained because your foods shite.......so why not when a footballer is shite to. Just an opinion mind.....
  20. hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe love it. see tae be honest a was more talking about the strip than the team...........but nevermind.
  21. Could it be,once again - that the people running motherwell are,in fact....fucking hopeless.. sorry.
  22. looking at some of the names - mccart? he's on a great job at celtic i really don't see him leaving that for a crack at managing a full team, infact i don't remember him ever registering his interest in being a club manager, but i may be wrong. Craig brown....suerly must be enjoying retirment to much to come out and manage a club like motherwell with nothing to spend, nae real appeal either - seems like to much hassel for him in my opinion. I don't know anything about luc nijolt and his managerial credentials either so im reluctant to comment but would he come to motherwell?
