  1. I haven't and it would probably take me a while to find some but they have definitely said it. I have head it from Leann Dempster's mouth first hand during question and answer sessions. It is definitely club strategy and McCall has said those are has objectives each season.
  2. I think that they believe that if you budget for it you can bring in players that will get you there. That leads to increased attendances because we are doing well although that hasn't worked. They will argue that because we budgeted that way we have finished in the top 6 more than not, got to a cup final and been in Europe 4 out of the last 5 years. Their strategy returned a profit of over 541k last season. To a degree they have a point BUT only becasue we have been a success on the park. When we don't sell a player and go out the cups early then you see what happens with the figures this year. It's a risky strategy and I don't like it either but having said that I wasn't complaining when I was getting on planes to Nancy, Bucharest, Odense etc.
  3. Leeann Dempster and Stuart McCall have told us on numerous occasions what we budget for.
  4. There isn't a hope in hell that attendances will increase when the clubs are hellbent on imposing a fuck up of a league structure on the fans. Attendances are more like to decrease further. This may be an argument for another thread but it all ties in together.
  5. Sunday Brunch with Johnny Gahagan I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen Johnny Gahagan before. I saw him before and found him very funny indeed and £20 is a good price. I hope there is a good turn out for this because after all it's for a good cause.
  6. I totally agree. My post was just outining what I though the club's position was. I think it's madness too though. A club our size should never be budgetting for a top 6 finish. A top 6 finish should be a bonus for us.
  7. We budget to sell a player every season, finish in the top 6 and a decent cup run. I don't think we were expected to finish in 3rd place last season and to win as many games (win bonuses would be a factor). I think European games were mentioned because they were included in the previous season's accounts. I could be wrong though. Plus I don't think we reached the quarters of the Scottish last year. Did Aberdeen not knock us out of the round before?
  8. I should add that although this is pretty bad reading it's not as bad as it sounds. We predicted a loss last year when we recorded a profit of £540,000 and we kept that in reserve for this moment.
  9. That people is why we haven't signed any players.
  10. To be fair to Reynolds, Wednesday played him as a left back the whole time he was there. He's never a left back in a month of Sundays. For the record Wednesday are in the championship, what Wellfan1984 is saying is that he was punted while Wednesday were in League 1, however they played him in the wrong position. I would be interested to see how he would have got on had he played in the middle of the defence.
  11. Some people are getting desperate noo . We're no signing anyone so deal with it. We'll need to sign about 10 players in the summer so save your excitement for then .
  12. Ross County released 2 players to bring their players in. There is also nothing to say they players will improve their respective teams. I am a firmly against signing players just for the sake of it. There are very few players in our market available in the January window. I am quite happy to trust the squad that we have.
  13. Apoloies, I didnae read your post correctly. I can be a right thick c**t at times. I see what you mean. I'm sure if you add both there wages together it would probably be more than we could afford. If that's not it maybe he just wasn't on our radar. Just like Nicky Law etc weren't on their's.
  14. Do you no fancy the Juniors next season when this 8/8/8 shite comes in ?
  15. We don't need Enckleman though. I'm sure they are paying some of Ngoo's wages.
  16. Anyway I'm too young to have been one of the ones moaning about the 20 team league, It's all they auld bastards out there that done that . I see where you're coming from it's the whole 8/8/8 split that gets on my goat most of all. I could live with the 12 leagues as a starting point if it meant that income distribution was fairer, a single league body was formed and voting structures were changed that provided a more democratic structure. On that basis I would accept12/12/18 and then when could argue from within that for a larger league and anything else that needed changed could be adopted without being vetoed by 2 clubs. However, this 8/8/8 is madness and I will never accept points being wiped out half way through a season providing a league structure that means you're a couple of points away from European qualification but suddenly you find yourself in a relegation battle. You could be a mile clear of the chasing pack in the second tier and then half way through the season you're points get wiped and you need to start again. That aspect of the proposal is the reason why this whole package should be rejected.
  17. No but they could probably offer about 3k a week which would still beat us. Hearts' average attendance is about 3x ours and they have the 2nd biggest average attendance in the SPL this year (we all know who is top). Motherwell are 8th on that list and we are 3rd in the league. I would say we are doing pretty damn good for our resources.
  18. I just can't get my head around the zeroing of points half way through as season. What happened to good old fashioned league football? Honestly we would be as well moving to an NFL format. Someone other than Celtic might actually be able to call themselves "the Champions" that way .
  19. This is from the Motherwell FC statement. The bit I've highlighted says it all for me. This is nothing more than an excercise to tell us why they are supporting it and allow us to let off a bit of steam.
  20. I'm gutted with the date and time for the Well Society meeting as I'm working until half 2. GUTTED GUTTED GUTTED. I really wanted to be there too but I'm sure there will be a good analysis provided on here.
  21. The news outlets have also told us stories that are fact too, it's all to easy to dig up examples of when they made an arse of it. I suspect the same man was responsible for briefing the press that time too. If I'm wrong and a decision hasn't been made then the clubs should be having a serious word with Mr Doncaster.
  22. I pretty much agree with all of this. The clubs made up their minds today no doubt about it. I suspect Neil Doncaster has been briefing the media all day despite his ambiguous statements on the record. Every single news outlet and newspapers are reporting that this is a done deal. As LIP says the board will be telling the fans why. I just hope the SFL clubs have balls and kick this in to the long grass.
  23. Practically every sports news segmet is carrying this story as "SPL clubs unanimously agree to 12-12-18 structure" and not all of them are "dubious". I post emotional posts when required and I see this as a required time. Only the start of my post I take back, the rest still stands whether the club are consulting us or not because it states my view on the matter. This is time for views to be expressed so I have not jumped the gun except for the start of my post.
