I think it's more because the St Mirren defence is honking at the moment and we have attacking players on form and who can hurt St Mirren. However, football is a funny game and I've saw us lose plenty of games that I expect us to win. Don't worry though I'm going for 4-0 to us. We are due a victory with a clean sheet. Higdon hat-trick and Humphrey to bag the goals.
-
Considering they can get him for nothing in the summer I'd say there is nae chance we'll get 2 million for him. If he had 4 years still to run then maybe.
-
What would be gutting would be going out the game because we had no cash to pay our players or the bills. Perhaps I'm being a bit dramatic there but who knows? I don't think the club would even consider a derisory offer like 175k for Ojamaa if they had a choice so if they do accept it then they probably don't. Motherwell being financially stable or Henrik Ojamaa? It's a no brainer eh?

I'm sure the tv payments are scattered throughout the year and timing is just bad, Don't get me wrong I am surprised we are having cash flow problems too. I too have wondered why the club don't use the Society funds, perhaps it's not allowed at this moment in time or perhaps that's just what they'll do.
-
I m sure I read somewhere that at one of the Well Society meetings it was discussed that if we went out the cup in the 4th Round and we failed to sell a player in January that we would have a cash flow problem by March. Well we went out the cup so that only leaves one option.

If I could do the higdon over the internet I would. Get it right fucking up you MJC and postiejim. Sorry brazillian but I needed to get that out. 2nd in the league and we have a thread like this. Time to put it ro HOTD where it belongs
-
Top post Stu especially the last sentence.
-
Indeed Melvin but MJC is blind to anything good that McCall has done magnifies any failings that he may have. I hope, the next game we win and MJC is at, McCall runs right up to him and does the Higdon. In fact we all should.
-
It's quite interesting is that table. Just think where we would be if Stuart McCall wasn't useless and we had a Plan B.
-
Obviously you must be forgetting the big game failures against Nancy, Dundee in the Cup, the game against St Mirren when we needed a win to get in to the top six and McGhee played 6 defenders and we got beat.......... His record in 'the big games' was top drawer.
-
I think it's a cracking idea.
-
I was meaning players that would come in rather than the out of contract players that you're talking about as you said that they look as if they're away. I would also say that Hibs probably offered Clancy a significant wage rise I'm talking about teams that will offer around the same as us or just a wee bit more. The European attraction is better to have than not, don't you think? I don't think we should be sacrificing a league position and the money that goes with it because a player is 'likely' to leave at the end of the season. They are contracted to June 2013 and not December 2012 so we should use them until the end of the season. To do otherwise would be cutting our nose off to spite our face.
-
The further up the league we get the more money we will have for replacements. Simples. Plus it would be good to have a european carrot to dangle and that would prove an advantage for teams looking in the same market as us.
-
We're that easily beaten we are 3rd in the League. There is more to football than beating Celtic or Sevco.
-
I still don't think it's a sackable offence. He has done a good job for us and I think the players are culpable to.
-
I will repeat that every manager since 1991 has lost a 'big cup' match and a lot of them we have failed to turn up in so it is not a problem exclusive to Stuart McCall.
-
Our record against Celtic or Rangers wasn't that much better under other managers. Don't forget we haven't beat Rangers since 2001 so I actually put that down to the PLAYERS as well as the manager. I agree we looked terrified earler in the season against Rangers but remember guys like Hammell and Lasley have lost more games against Rangers than Stuart McCall so I would also put some responsibilty at their door. We lost big games under McGhee, for example, Nancy and numerous cup games that I can't be bothered listing. We lost big games under Brown, again Cup games and Odense. See the thing you fail to realise MJC is that we are Motherwell FC. We haven't won a Cup for 21 years and it will be at least 22 so that tells me that every manager we have had since then has lost big games. We will win some and we will lose some so this thread is nothing more than an overreaction. You're calling for the head of a manager who only 7 months ago led us to our highest points total ever in the SPL. I'm sorry but you don't get 62 points exclusively by being lucky. Aye we probably rode our luck at times but not all [62 points were down to luck. You just sound like someone who doesn't like the guy so refuse to give him any credit whatsoever. Sacking a manger who is 3rd in the league (one point from second) months after leading us to a record points total and 19 months after leading us to a Scottish Cup final is madness.
-
I think the same guy apoligised and admitted he was talking bullshit too did he not?
-
We've actually won big games under McCall you know.
-
Going by this logic Jennings would never have played for Motherwell. If we signed Faddy on a 1 year deal would you be shouting for him to be dropped? Humphrey has been playing well of late, Randolph has never let us down, Nicky law is our best player, Jamie Murphy is our top scorer and Higdon is the 2nd top scorer in Scotland and is on course for 20+ goals this season so aye drop them and see where would be. By the same token we should tell McCall he cannae manage either because he hasn't signed a new deal. The overreaction of a defeat which was our first in six games is absolutely unbelievable. This thread is just plain daft.
-
See I was quite excited by finishing third last season and breaking our points total along the way. I was also excited with the cup run in 2011. We might have been shite in the final but hey we still got there. I was excited a couple of weeks ago when we skelped Caley Thistle 5-1 which could have been about 9. I was excited with some of the football we played on Saturday and in particular the goals. I'd rather a consistent high placed finish in the league over mid table mediocrity any day of the week. I don't know how you can see 3rd place as disappointment.
-
Sorry what I meant by that is aye criticism is merited at times but it has to be constructive. Some of it is stupid and sometimes it seems as if certain people wait for a player to make a mistake so they can criticise. Plus if the ball was chest height you wouldn't need to jump to head it . Some of the criticism is waffle in my opinion but I agree with you on Hateley.
-
I had a go at someone last night for shouting at Higdon for failing to win a ball. He shouted "Jump Higdon you're bloody useless", now the reason I had a go was the ball was at chest height. Everytime Higdon doesn't win a ball he shouts something along those lines about Higdon jumping. It does my head right in.
-
Nobody says that you don't have a right to bring them up but a bit of balance would be nice.
-
His main beef (I think) is the fact that you provide one sided stats and ignore ones that point to a Motherwell win or are they not interesting or relevant to this thread?
