I'm inclined to agree with you but every club needs fringe players. Could we afford to lose two back up players from an already small squad to give a guy a deal. I want Ojamaa signed up as much as anyone but I think we need to be sensible about it before commiting. If I win the Euromillions tomorrow night I'll pay his wages for the next 5 years. If the club get a couple of million for him I won't even ask for a penny........well maybe just a seat for life in the Andy Payton suite .
Not particularly.
I agree with your first point but because you offer them testimonials at the same time doesn't mean they need to be in the same year. It could be an agreement for a testimonial in the future.
My memory was hazy in the issue I just thought I remembered something which was why I asked. I probably added the length of contract in . But aye I was just looking for clarification so cheers.
What makes everyone think this will be a close game. Both games this season have finished 3-0 .
Granted It's a hard one to call but the winner will win comfortably and the losers will get pumped. My money is on us cause we are quite a streaky team. We will win the next 3 or 4.
Now if this was noticed by the Ref and punished at most he would have got a yellow card (which is also harsh). So where the hell does the 1 match ban come from?
A bloody disgrace this............
If someone made a run on to the ball it wouldn't go straight through to the goalkeeper. Look at all the top teams and alot of goals are scored buy playing ball to space and a runner getting on the end of it. It's not all about passing to your player with every pass.
So football isn't about playing a ball into space and hoping that one of your team mates will have the intelligence to take a gamble and run into said space? That's what players like Murphy, Higdon, Law and Humphrey should be doing.
Haha what a thread this is. How many Motherwell managers would have had the sack if we fired managers after 3 league defeats in a row. Motherwell don't sack managers for being 4th in the league.
It's been almost a year in the job since Stuart McCall took over hotseat at Fir Park and what a year it's been eh?
Highlights - Almost all of this season, a fantastic cup run and if we looked back at the Dundee thread there was alot of people predicting defeat but we came through it with flying colours. The victory against Celtic.
Lows - Not many really but I'll fling in the performances against the Old Firm minus the victory against Celtic.
Marks out of 10 - I will give him an 8 and if we beat Rangers on 2 January it will be changed to a 10.
Discuss...........
I wonder if Craig Thomson and Callum Murray will be refereeing this weekend. My money will be on yes. It's about time referees started getting punished for their incompetence.
You have the farcical situation that Pawlett got a ban for diving and then a red card from the same game overturned. Respect my arse.
I was looking forward to this but the payroll has to be sent by 1200 on Saturday. Should I let a couple of hunred folk go without cash at new year and go to the game or be professional?
Bloody BANK HOLIDAYS................
This is a messageboard to discuss how good and how bad the team have played. If somebody is having a 'mare of a time then people are going to say he is having a 'mare are they not? Whether you like it or not Chris Humphrey has been rotten for months now.
I too hope he has a belter but it won't shut me up I'll be on here saying how good he was because that's how it works. That doens't make me hypocritical that just means I'm giving you an analysis on the game. I'm sure others don't want to be critical of him either.
Motherwell (as a club) have been lobbying the SPL (in fact they and Celtic have been leaders) to introduce safe standing areas. So they must have some sort of plan in place even if it is to transfer the cost to the fans who wish to use it.
I'm still unsure that the punters who stay away due to price will come back because they can stand. If anything the price will be higher to fund the new standing area. Does £20 suddenly become worth it because you can stand? No would be my answer.
I welcome the opportunity that has arisen through this but we are a long way off any permanent area. It's certainly going to be a long, time consuming and costly process to get to the stage where we want to be.
Quite costly those seats eh?
If we as a club were looking to install these rail seats what sort of numbers would we be talking?
Would the people interested be willing to pay a one off extra £84 on their season tickets to fund the move? it would be something I would be interested in.
