  1. Agreed. Let's vote yes because of what some people say on a football forum . I've read plenty of roasters on Scottish forums that make not want me to be left alone with them.
  2. That would only be remotely possible if he could kep the current team together and add another couple of quality players. Considering his team is about to broken up and the budget cut he may feel as if he has taken us as far as he can.
  3. I've got a feeling that you would find something to moan about whoever we appoint as manager (if the vacancy arises) and whoever we sign this season.
  4. It's not always to do with though is it? Management is also about having contacts and trust in contacts that a player is decent (Brown trusting Dailly on Randolph). Hartley has played in England and has also played for Celtic and Scotland and is bound to have an array of contacts down south. Now I admit it is not an exact science and there is a huge element of luck involved also but the assumption that he knows little about the English leagues may well be wide of the mark. It's a reason that football clubs hold interviews so that they can find these things out and I am sure that it will be one of the things we will be looking for and if he does know very little then he will not get the job. If McCall goes then I will have full trust in the board to find an able replacement because they do have a pretty decent track record.
  5. How has Paul Hartley got no knowledge of the English leagues? How would anyone know that?
  6. The question is would you rather finish high up the league and lose your manager every 2 to 3 seasons or be mediocre like a St Mirren/Kilmarnock and have your manager longer term. In my opinion if we keep losing our managers we are doing something right.
  7. Ever since he got promotion the other day the media have been saying that it's only a matter of time before Hartley was a manager of an SPL team. They have been speaking about him being destined for greatness. It was a certainty that the first SPL job to become available Hartley was going to be linked with it. Anyway I have already mentioned McAllister but what about John Collins?
  8. Stuart McCall 4/9 with Skybet and 1/4 with both Stan James and Betvictor.
  9. Gary McAllister will get the job. He might not have fancied it in the past but I have a feeling that he may now see the Motherwell job as a good opportunity. And aye McCall is away and as a manager who likes working with players he has had in the past I wouldn't be surprised if he took any of Higdon Law and Humphrey with him.
  10. I think Faddy will sign his contract. It's nothing but a gut feeling. Fraser Kerr will sign and the rest will be away.
  11. Killie offered him a 3 year deal and Oldham offered him a 2 year deal.
  12. Don't worry, it looks like he's in talks with Doncaster.
  13. The certain Kenny Black you're talking about is based in...............wait for it............Sheffield .
  14. The compensation we'd have to pay an Alloa or a Stenny would be a lot less than we'd receive for McCall so is not totally out the question. Remember we paid money for Hammell which was part of a transfer received for Paterson. I also think the same would apply to Derek Adams and Ross County and of course we could offer him a better deal than he is getting with them. Whether he would come is a different story and I don't think he would.
  15. Aye right enough folks, the silly season is well and truly upon us. Keep it coming.
  16. I think he'll go. He changed his line the other day an publicly stated that he would listen to what other teams had to say. I honestly think it's only a matter of time. On the bright side we should get a decent payout for him.
  17. I think I heard something about under 12s getting in free to this game but nothing else about reduced prices.
  18. The said that they wanted to give teams guaranteed extra money to help offset a drop in income due to Rangers not being in the SPL. They said that we were 7th in the league at the the point of the agreement and it was Hibs' idea and they were 2nd in the league at the time. They said the didn't touch the share of 1st place because of the a winner of something should get a premium of the money. They pointed to other sports where the winners get a bigger majority of any prize money.
  19. At the reconstruction forum a few weeks ago we were informed that there should be a premium for winning the league and that the 1st place will continue to get a far bigger share than the rest. Apparently all 12 clubs are in agreement on this.
  20. It just shows you that they were talking shite when they told us there could be no cherry picking of the issues and that it was an all nothing proposal. It was a cynical attempt to get their shambolic 8-8-8 proprosal through.
  21. I wasn't really sure to be honest. I can remember something being announced about it but couldn't remember what it actually was. I didn't know if a ticket had to be purchased at the ticket office like you do at St Mirren etc. Thanks for the info.
  22. I know a few people who are coming along to this game. Has PATG arrangements changed or did I dream that?
  23. That's what happens when you go on a night out with Leigh Griffiths. Aw well no other club should touch him after this. He should just sign his Motherwell contract.
