  1. Consider me burned, teaker of a response there Sparky
  2. I'm more intrigued to find out what your role on here is
  3. Something positive to say about one of our transfers? David Smith from Lincoln City or John McDonald from Gillingham get destroyed before they even kick a ball, however some fella with "vic" tagged onto the end of his surname gets praise, not criticism and optimism? You really should consider supporting one of the OF with that mindset
  4. Halfway through the video, is that Gordon Young? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/48857300
  5. Based on his track record (and that of most managers) 60% of this summers acquisitions will have something about them and 40% will be duds. Some on here are looking for a 100% return on investment which never happens.
  6. Clever post, you're covered if he turns good and covered if he turns bad with your tongue in cheek £2m. Think some are overlooking Grimshaw, started to get a run in the team at the tail end of the season and started to perform, just like before he left us on loan the first time. For me the only shoe-ins in that team are the keeper where we are spoiled, Tait and Campbell
  7. From what I understand and it came from a seemingly decent source. Norwich's offer was more substantial financially, however they suggested they seen his progression initially in the U23's or loaned out. When they went back to Celtic, the money was more than the first offer but crucially he was offered the scope to compete for a first team place. Based on that I don't think we can question if he felt he was good enough, unless you want to question if a 19 year old, 30 first team games down can walk right into a Premiership midfield.
  8. OK Brendan Fraser in "Encino Man", very good. Next you'll be telling us next you've never heard of a fidget spinner, Lewis Capaldi or the Avengers
  9. This has all turned a bit Love Island for my liking ..... "he was voted out, let's all sit round the fire pit and discuss it"
  10. I just think of stuff like Radio Clyde's phone in, during an ad break the producer will say to the panel, "OK, only time for one more call, I've got Malky frae Easterhoose wanting to discuss how Morelos is picked on or Giles from Bridge of Weir wanting to discuss the finer points and glaring issues with Project Brave ........." Malky wins and will always win Modern sports journalism is now based on clickbait, nothing more
  11. Oh geez peace you sanctimonious clown. We've had this argument already way back. Would we what? There is nothing in what I wrote that satisfies that response. Read my post again, it was highlighting that Yodo suggesting we hold onto him (which contractually we could be able to do) he would no doubt be unhappy that the club stood in the way of a higher career move and a massive wage increase. As for questioning his "his" professionalism, I think you'll find I did nothing of the sort, I questioned Yodo's and asking for a something from Turnbull he'd unlikely approve for himself. With reference directly to the player I said he'd be unhappy which I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to disagree with. If I was on 1k a week and 10x was a heartbeat away then naturally every single one of us would be miffed. None of us know if Celtic's concerns are genuine, over the top or to beat down the price. Regardless, they raised concerns if they do pull out with any other interested party and may dampen alternative interest. If it is the latter then they have nefariously and adversely affected MFC's prized asset. Just to remind you, we live in a capitalist society, jealousy and greed is what drives the vast majority. Bigger house, better car than the neighbours, better bird than the mates one etc. To suggest its not a factor is to assume we live in some utopian society which everyone knows we do not. As a moderator you really should know better and refrain from putting words in someone's mouth and basing posts on your inferences.
  12. You are so out of touch its mesmerising. He's on 800-1,000 a week, Celtic are offering north of 10k and Norwich for an earlier post offered north of 15k. He sees Hastie on 4.5 to 5k at Ibrox. While we could in theory keep him here until the summer of 2021 we'd have someone very unhappy at that and £1m down on where he would have been. Would you be thrilled and give 100% knowing that .... very much doubt it. It is important that the club as part of their marketing to players convey they won't stand in their way if the right offer comes in to let them progress. The right offer did come in and therefore he's off.
  13. Offence is often taken and rarely given. It doesn't mean you are either correct or have access to certain rights, it's just a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected. "oh I'm offended by that" ...... So fucking what! Stephen Fry
  14. We already have a poacher in Danny Johnson who hasn't had a fair crack and is unlikely to going forward.
  15. There's been a few on here with agenda's, Chris Humphries step-dad in law was also a "contributor"
  16. Plenty of players left us after not being able to break through and made a good account of themselves in the championship, while there are a few gems in the lower leagues, there are also a few would be treading water in our league.
  17. Safe to say most don't like conjecture and hyperbole dressed up as facts. That gets called out far more than negativity towards the club. It is important that it is distinguished and continued to be called out. I'm sure you will agree.
  18. Do you know for certain what his enhanced contract terms were? Or in absence of that if any verbal assurances were given to the player that if a bid of xyz came in he would be free to talk to them? In an earlier post you convey that you are not going to renew your season ticket purely to punish the club for letting him go. By all means your right but not the action of a supporter when there is a very good chance that there is nothing the club could have done to keep him.
  19. Jesus, with the POD not to be used for OF and now there's this too, you are limiting the clubs ability to make money.
  20. All this is far from magnificent. Most of us are using conjecture and second guessing how conversations have gone. What is important, we don't know what's been said to David and what assurances if any have been made by any interested party. I do think he should have confidence in his ability, so far he has delivered on that front. You have to ask are Norwich interested in paying 3m for him as "why not?" or they really do think he could add something in the future. In terms of that league it is small change but in terms of that club in that league it is a decent investment. He should also have confidence in his own ability to go down there and break through. By no means will it be easy and it is a big step up, he goes from a big fish in a small pond to a wee fish in the EPL ocean. Jake Hastie cashed in for 5k a week and may never play again but will be set for life by his early 20's with 750k in the bank. Going to Celtic will sit badly with many, personally I see it as a step up but not the fulfilling the one he is capable of. Lennon does not strike me as a nurturing manager. It will be hard to see him in green and white but tempered when I recall his actions and performances to net the club our record fee. I expect we'll see him in C&A again in 10 or so years time in a Faddy-esque swansong.
  21. I'd like to think that when the debt is cleared, we would be able to approach lower league/junior teams for their hot prospects in the way bigger teams approach us for ours. We react like rabid dogs to anything over 500k for one of our players. If their management are astute they would have any players with potential on a decent contact and I assume the likes of a Morton would find 100k a windfall of their own. Being able to offer 100k as a transfer fee before they become a free agent and open to the wage bidding frenzy with a plan of punting them on for at least 5x that in a few years plus has to be an added option for us now. I would hope enters our acquisition policy with the Turnbull/Hastie/McKinstry/Cadden (plus maybe Cedric sell on) windfalls in the region of potentially 4.5m this summer.
  22. Seeing the behaviour of Celtic over the past week it's like a tinder date gone wrong. They both get home after the date that went OK but nothing special. Celtic texts Turnbull, "So how do you think it went? Do we see each other again?" Turnbull replies "Look I had a nice time but I'd prefer just to be friends" "Eh? ....... How come?, was it something I said or did?" Celtic's mum gets involved by texting"Hey, Celtic's lovely, just often misunderstood, I'm sure you'd be a great addition to the family" "Why is your mum getting involved? Jeez ..... Well if you do ask, you went on a bit too much about your ex from Govan and Ireland for my liking" "Arsehole, hope you meet a munter" "Well actually, its a wee hottie from the East of England that's far more attractive, all my friends say they seem lovely, thanks all the same" Celtic then rant via Facebook newsfeed "Went out on a date last night with an ungrateful bastard. Fuck you, you're not really my type anyway but I thought I'd give you a chance #toogoodforyou #bhoyswillbebhoys #hatetheplayernotthegame"
  23. I mentioned bidding war before and now regret it. With this release clause the clubs know what it is that we have agreed to accept as a minimum, therefore why offer more to us at the expense of offering more to the player to make it more attractive to him? Of course they can sweeten the deal with a loan back/lonees/bigger sell on etc. which would make them the preferred bidder from Flow's point of view, however cash talks in a players hippy since Bosman.
  24. When Hastie has gone to Ibrox for £5k a week (or thereabouts) I find that hard to believe.
  25. 2007 .... is that also when you made your last positive post?
