  1. The only obvious answer would be Campbell as that seems to be his game too and to switch Bigi to a more advanced midfield position. As for Bigi, wasn't he sold as a defensive midfielder who would get the ball and move forward playing slide-rule passes. I get that his time here has been a mixture of injury, not getting into an on-form side and various other reasons but he has been the biggest disappointment in terms of what I hoped for in the summer. But that is tempered with Main and Campbell, weren't on my radar in July (Jan) and have been fantastic for us. How has playing Tait on one wing and Cadden on the other worked for us this season? Genuine question. I think Bowman does offer more running and vigour than Ciftci and I would start him before, but my post was based on what I think Robinson will field.
  2. I think this is how we'll line up, but Bowman, Rose and Grimshaw may all be in for a nod over. Grimshaw is a prime example of being drafted in at the 11th hour. The reason I think he'll go for Frear is he offers an out ball and he has the speed and ability to use the pitch to punish. I only opted for Ciftci up front as I think Robinson hopes he offers something and doesn't think he is daunted by the occasion. All of the above is based on fitness naturally which I'm not party to. -------------- Carson ------------- ---- Kipre - Aldred - Dunne ---- Tait ----------- Bigi -------- Frear ------ Cadden --- Campbell ----- --------- Main ---- Ciftci ---------
  3. I'm all for people having a go and saying something you post is pish but at least back it up with a counter argument and engage in a debate rather than just pouring scorn.
  4. I defer to your superior footballing knowledge ..... UEFA Class 1 coaching badge in the post?
  5. This close season will be involve less time scouring the classifieds but we now have a decent team that now only need complimenting here and there. I do think 2 of the starting 11 below will be poached in the summer but is our best case scenario. I'd like to see if Kipre can play right back and Dunne move out to wide left. Kipre's mazy runs and speed and Dunne's speed offer a lot in those positions. Cadden has stalled this year and could benefit from trying to adapt his game to take advantage of our tactics. I'd drop McHugh to the bench to bring someone else in to see if they can do his role any better. It may turn out he is better than many give him credit for. Of course if Kipre goes or Aldred can't be secured then it opens up a host of alternatives. But I believe we have something below that can go on and do damage in this league. ------------------ Carson ------------------ - Kipre -- Hartley -- Aldred -- Dunne - -- Tait - Cadden - Campbell - XXXX -- ------------ Main --- XXXX -------------- Bench: Keeper Bowman (he's earned it) McHugh Rose Frear Tanner
  6. Many of you are being unfair to Ryan Bowman, OK he has a striker title but his workload no doubt created more than a few windows for the true star in our team to slot a number away. For as many of you who harp on about player loyalty and questioning if it's cool to boo Jamie Murphy this weekend, many need to look back at your posts in late October and early November. The same goes for Andy Rose, many too keen to stick the boot in unfairly
  7. Tenuous link but Lee Erwin assaulter Bilel Moshni is back in Scotland sporting the tangerine of Dundee Utd. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43494518
  8. Journalist must have forgot to ask, "So what did you think of Celtic's derisory offer to your current club? How did that make you feel?"
  9. I must admit, for the first time I was scratching my head with Robinson. On one hand his post match interview in isolation covered a lot of valid points. Second to every 50-50, weren't doing the basics well and the key one for me .... believed our own hype, we'd just turn up and breeze it. However when you combine with how we lined up and our tactics then you have to ask why there is a disconnect between one and the other. You cant show up with 1 up front against our misfiring neighbours on one hand and have in built arrogance you're going to walk away with 3 points on the other.
  10. That game against Killie would have kept them in them in the mix if we won. Regardless this season has exceeded all expectations regardless of league position now. If you need to recall look back at the predictions thread and see what was the general feeling in the summer. Looking to build on things this summer and consolidate, however as someone said before, the shit show of the past 5 years looks to be over and other clubs in our league generally seem to have better management and direction. All I can hope for is Accies and Ross County go down, they add nothing and take a lot.
  11. Aye, valid point, cause Alex Ferguson's mantlepiece is bulging with multiple Ballon D'or
  12. I would imagine you'd expect a professional footballer to be able to adapt. Everything about Moult from his workrate to his ability would suggest he can and isn't already the proverbial square peg with no manoeuvre. Preston's 2017 form hasn't continued since the new year and much like us after the Cup Final they are going through a period of malaise. It's evident as the hyped signing he hasn't achieved what was hoped but its safe to say that permeates through the whole team at present. It's very easy to point the finger and find a boogey-man. Higdon misfired here for a few months and went on to succeed.
  13. I missed it due to boarding a aircraft in Oslo airport and the VPN hat was working a treat in the terminal was lost in the air bridge. Lost the last 5 minutes and I’m absolutely gutted and champing at the bit to get to the hotel. From what I did see, Dunne is coming onto a game but can be like an epileptic chicken at times and his passing is dare I say worse than Crags. Semi, guaranteed TV and half the gate receipts. Any money the OF are split again? What a fucking season!
  14. Campbell for both, showed maturity beyond his years. Tait for consistency, Carson for solidity and Hartley would have been in for a shout if he was able to contribute in the run in.
  15. Both Robinson and Flow have pulled some nimble moves on and off the park this season. The team is more cohesive and has better quality than many would have expected or hoped for pre-season. Off the park selling on players at the right stage or getting revenue where it looked like there was no option has to be recognised. Only blip has been the run which I think was mostly caused off the back of the triple header against the unwashed and the general feeling of unfairness which put us in a siege mentality. The winter break came at a perfect time. Highlights for me are selling Moult for 500k when it looked like we'd get nothing and that press conference where the press tried to go after Bowman. All in all, a very successful season thus far.
  16. Ask all fans in Inverness if they're cool with it 20 years later?
  17. I can only assume Craig Brown had a glory hole in his office with him on the other end.
  18. I'll give you a like, that one was good.
  19. I wonder if Pearson got any of this shite in reverse when he went there?
  20. Considering some demanded improvement or Robinson's head was on the block, I hope they've put their knives away.
  21. Awww bugger, thought we had a starlet there. Our home form is questionable compared to those around us. Looking at the league table, don't know how Celtic can get to this point in the season with 8 games played when the average is 15-16.
  22. I don't know him personally, but I also don't like it when its insinuated he left on different terms than what he did.
  23. First half was turgid and someone near me made a pertinent point "when we put the ball on the deck, we actually create something, 5 moves and 5 chances .... amazing eh?" Main is many of the qualities of Moult, workrate, willing to take a snapshot when others would look for a pass, making a shooting chance from nothing. Campbell shows behaviour well in excess of his years, glad to see Dunne show composure and I'm encouraged that many more fans are now starting to be educated to what Rose is tasked with. My only criticism, other than the emphasis on long ball tactics is McHugh. I can't fault his workrate and what he did last season when tasked with playing centre-half. However tonight I witnessed too many sloppy or 50-50 passes. Main had an overlap with him on the left wing in the first half and he played it into the box where Cifcti had to check his run and was pick-pocketed which left me questioning his decision making. His captaincy has maybe secured the minutes played this season.
