It might be the end of SK, but who'd select the next lamb to be slaughtered? I've never agreed with fan ownership at this level, and our "leadership" havened even been able to get a decent replacement for Burrows, so while we moan about what's happening on the park, that's the tip of the iceberg, in my opinion. Where there is no vision the team will perish.

I've been offline for a while, but I'm not surprised to see so many after the manager's head. It's been happening regularly now for a few years. So my question is, who's been responsible for finding these next managers, and what's the reason for so many failures? A supplementary question would be how is Robinson doing so well with St. Mirren? It seems to me there must be as much responsibility higher up that perpetuates where we seem to be heading again this year.

Great start, 3rd place is certainly in play at this stage. Exciting prospect.

This topic can be a laugh when the job is still open: it's like a shooting gallery with pot shots at every name that comes up. What worries me though is how you get a dressing room full of players who don't show any guts or leadership. How does any manager get them working when they have a contract-long pay packet guarantee? It doesn't matter who the manager is, if the players have decided they don't need to work, how do you fix that??
-
It doesn't matter who the manager is, the tone here is that the players are useless, so at this late date in January, how will that help any manager, Hammell or not?. We have a structural management problem, and with Burrows going it will now clearly lie with the board and the society. The villains are those who signed all the dross you all hate, so the issue is more fundamental than the manager.
-
If it's not Hammel, who else is there, especially after what Hibs have done today?
-
Just a question: how many of these players have been signed by SH, and are any of them any kind of improvement? Second question: how much money do we have in the transfer kitty, and what ability of player can we expect to recruit from that?
-
And there it was at the death.
-
Let's just hope the next goal is for us, 1-0 is very risky.
-
I think Stevie will do the best with the players on hand, but the club needs to get some proper recruiting done.
-
The sad thing is Stevie having to watch the defending, since he did that very well for us as a player. Surely they've got somebody for January. There's only so much he can do with what's there.

My grannie was buried doon the road in 1948, but if thet dig her up she might be able to score a goal for us.

This should have happened earlier since the entire year has been a disaster. Anyone who thinks they were top six with the 2022 performances was deluded, so with this fiasco there was no other option, no matter how it was worded. If the Board and the Trust have any notion about a successful future they should not be looking at the lower reaches for a quick fix. What's needed is someone with proven experience and we need to understand that adequate compensation needs to be on the table. This was once a very respectable team that played good winning football, but this is a very different world, football included. It's time to take the future seriously and to do some professional management at every level of the organization, or it's time to shut it all down like you would an old horse that everyone loved.

Well done to end up 4th or 5th, but the question is how to translate that into bigger crowds. Surely the answer is to play attractive football that folk look forward to going to. It has to be more attractive than the alternative that 5-6k people choose on game days. Until that's accomplished we'll never have a consistent ability to attract players to compliment the kids coming up through the ranks. Still we can enjoy how the seaqson turned out, despite 2022 results. Mon the Well.

I'm glad they crept in but only from a financial point of view. If what's on display on the park is turning people off, what's the point? It's supposed to be entertainment, and it clearly isn't. But I do admire those who now see a European run, blind faith that defies the reality of boring football. I remember the days when we lost games but still played eye catching football. Those were the days my friends...Reid, Hunter, St. John, Quinn, Weir. in, lose or draw you got your moneys worth.
-
I think the point is that going into a game like this you should be motivated to take charge of your destiny, and even if they do survive top six it will be down to other teams. There was a time when Motherwell were one of the most attractive teams to watch, but that's not what's happening now.
-
I just looked at the game statistics, has the team bus been caught in traffic somewhere???
-
Everything is on the line today with the point spread for top six giving so many teams the ability to drop us out of the top six. Surely this game is all about how well the manager has prepared the team and how committed the players are. This is about character.

I'm imagining...if the manager goes and to another SPL team, ex 'Well is then managing almost half the league. I'm wondering...if all our ex-managers are out there, can we avoid the drop if we dig up my granny from Arbles Road cemetery, will we have half a chance???
-
I'm reflecting...how can a tea that did so well before Christmas get so bad after? I'm thinking...I wonder how long it will be before the lads clamour for the manager's head???

There is no cure for ignorance and stupidity, but anyone who's identified should be banned for ever!!!
-
I've just tuned in and see everyone is in fine form.

Good luck with your studies.

Donnelly????

After my last comment I'm sitting at home with -13 outside, with a slight smile on my face. What a farce, and while we might be secure in the league there's just no excuse for the manager NOT to have the team ready for a game like this, especially after the County game.
