Get intae this mob Motherwell Come on! -
He might no be first pick but surely he'd be above someone who is almost certain to leave?
-
Obviously Baraclough had them wound up so much McDonald started swearing a random weans, McManus almost got himself sent off, McDonald did get himself send off, and the rest of the time decided to head straight for the team bus at five past 3. Superb.

All that would happen if you did that would be instead of 4k Rangers fans sat together in the south stand you'd have them dotted all over the ground which would be much worse IMO. I agree with your point in principal though.

The big massive fuck off elephant in the room still hasn't been addressed IMO. Do Motherwell fans actually want fan ownership? If we don't, then this is all gonna end in tears no matter how forthright Les is about the consequences. I understand that fan ownership is seen as the only way forward and for that reason alone there is a view that it must work. The problem, and I shared the same reservation on the first page of the Well Society thread, is that I still don't think we have the fan base which has the financial clout and more importantly the desire to own the club.

Well contribute to the discussion then. If you don't agree with what someone has posted say so and tell us why. If half the folk that complain about the forum actually contributed anything other than criticising those that are brave enough to voice their own opinion then every thread would be twice as long.

If we are still in it by the second leg I'll be amazed. Our away record is quite frankly horrific.

You are completely missing my point, the powers that be (the clubs) are stuck in the dark ages and the prospect of getting in someone like Barry Hearn, who would throw the rule book out the window (along with those who wrote it) completely terrifies them. They don't want someone to be brave and make hard decisions they want someone to maintain the status quo, which Doncaster does whilst conveniently taking all of the flack from the fans.

Noone wanted to sponsor Scottish football, not for the money the clubs were after. He's said as much himself. He could have had a sponsor in place but in the long run all it would have done was devalue what is viewed as a poor product even more, and you can bet your bottom dollar the clubs were behind rejecting any deals that were on the table on that basis. The guy comes across as a bit of a dick yes but he's exactly what the clubs want, someone who wont ruffle too many feathers and tackle the real issues in the Scottish game.
-
I'm surprised people still don't understand that all Doncaster is is a patsy for the clubs. He takes all the heat off them while they continue to make poor decisions mostly based on self interest.
-
People trotted out the same line about Thistle being dragged back into it, then it was Hamilton and look how that worked out. Even if Killie don't win again this season, I still don't think we've got enough about us to catch them. The big problem is clearly us putting the required points on the board.

He likes to do that fancy dan side swipe half volley kick out where he tries (emphasis on tries) to cut across the ball. If you watch him closely the ball is still very much in his hand when his standing foot steps outside the box. I do agree it's just ignored by the assistant referees now but it is noticeable just how far he ends up outside his box.
-
I prefer Tony Strayball personally.
-
If you watch Long when he kicks the ball from his hands he is repeatedly a good yard outside his box. It seems a strange risk to take given the extra distance he gains, not that it matters as the ball never goes anywhere near one of our players anyway.
-
His finishing is, well lets be honest, awful and he has issues staying on his feet but even then you can still see he has something to offer with his pace and movement. My major concern has always been rather than building our team around a proven goalscorer we have chosen to build it around someone who couldn't hit a barn door.

My maths was never great but 2 x £19 is not £45. Still better than nothing.

Area you for real? What the guy said was completely unacceptable and if I were out with one of my mates and he had said anything of the sort in front of a black person and his family then a swift kick to the haw maws would be getting administered followed by a warning that if they ever embarrassed me like that again we would no longer be friends. Some of us have managed to drag ourselves into the 21st century. If the player in question had been muslim and he had received religious or racial abuse then I would expect the same level of condemnation.

For the last four or five years we've had in the most part the quality in the squad that has allowed us to impose our game and our style of play on the opposition. This year is would appear that the change in playing personnel (for all the reasons mentioned before) has meant most teams are now able to impose their game on us. The problem with Baraclough, and the same was true with McCall at the start of the season, is that he thinks we can can still impose our game when it's clear we can't. We should be trying to make ourselves hard to beat, make sure the defence, and in particular the midfield, is set up to stop us conceding possession so easily which has led to countless goals conceded. By persisting with this 424 formation and two wide men it leaves us badly exposed when it doesn't work. On the few occasions it has worked it has worked really well and resulted in some high scoring positive results, but when it doesn't, and that's against any half decent opposition, it's a disaster. The defensive problems throughout the team we have had all season (poor pressing, poor organisation) have still not been addressed. People in the stands could see that Pearson was contributing absolutely nothing in his last two games (we all presume he is injured), and if we the fans can see it and the manager does he haw about it then there's something badly wrong. We've gone into numerous games where the midfield has been completely overrun, against teams we know will pack the centre of the park. It's not even a surprise when it happens any more.

Flow said in his podcast interview that the days of one off price reductions were gone and that we were going to have to get creative with ticketing in the future. Things like flexi tickets etc. In light of the last two performances I have witnessed first hand you couldn't pay me to go to the next game.

It all went drastically down hill after the display. Two horror shows back to back have all but sealed our fate. Pearson in particular was completely anonymous tonight, was a well on the bench. Can't wait to here Baraclough's excuses for this one.
