The exception if you want the name was Jamie Murphy. He is definately not the player he was last season. He tried but nothing came off for him. Hopefully that will change and we'll see the best of him as the season goes on.

It was very noticeably quieter in the away end yesterday. I think it's shocking that these tin pot hitler's can get away with stopping people, who are only there to enjoy themselves and support their team, from doing so. We do have to take this further. These people are killing the game, by their attitude, and they have to be stopped.

A lot of excellent performances. I went for Keith Lasley, but surprised nobody has given Nick Law a vote, because he was really getting about the park. But all in all, everyone with one exception were on top form.

The initial poster is absolutely right. When guys like Page etc see someone like Tim Clancy getting a game in front of them. They must wonder if they have a future at Motherwell, because if they aren't any better than him, they shouldn't be here.

Got to be Andy Roddie!

I think your wrong there. If you look back to the last game against Kilmarnock. Eremenco brought their players into the game by finding a pass between defenders. That's how they got their goal. We have ended up passing to the wingers in a static position most times, rather than a defence splitting pass that they can run on to and cross. That's why we were so ineffectual in the Cup Final, our wide players always seemed to receive the ball facing their own goals, and invariably passed the ball back the way.

It must be those specs you wear. Take then off, Hughes would be an excellent signing. He is the kind of player we have been missing in midfield. He is someone who would have helped Jeffers make more of an impact than he did, because he has the vision to see forward movement. Bottom line, I hope your wrong!
-
So what your saying is, as long as the player is not trying to seek advantage, or there are no opposition players near him, it's Ok to use your hands to stop the ball going past you? What a load of bollocks!
-
I accept we were pretty poor second half, but by that time the players knew they were going to get nothing from the excuse of a referee, and the heads went down.
-
I was brought up watching that wonderful team. Charlie Aitken was my hero. Never saw anybody who could head a ball like him. Happy days indeed, even if they never won anything!
-
I have to agree. Get the bigot brothers out. OK so we lose out on some TV money, but what I reckon we get in return is a more competative league where at least 8 teams could win it. Fans coming back because of the reason above. Then perhaps let the squirm back in on our terms not theirs.

Why are you talking about Wullie McFadyen. Nobody brought him into the debate, other that Welldell. Noboby has said anything about him being there to score goals. The older members of this forum have never mentioned him. So what's your problem? I do agree with Shotts. Faddy will always be one of my favourites, as would Davie Cooper, Dougie Arnott, Tom Boyd, but you have to remember these 3 players were playing for Motherwell 20 years ago now! Seems just like yesterday doesn't it.
-
Your wrong! It's only younger fans who can't compare, because they have only seen the modern players. Older guys have seen both the older players and the younger ones. So they can make a comparison. Whether you like that comparison or not is up to you.
-
You obviously forgot the team of the 50's who won the league and the Scottish Cup. How many scottish international players do we have now. In the 60's we had five Motherwell players in the one scottish team. No it's unfortunate but the guys of today are definately fitter but they are most definately not better.
-
Unfortunately guys of 50 years and older can go back to days when Motherwell had real quality players and could afford them. So when they do watch players who are trying hard, but don't have the basis skills to control a ball or pass it to their team mates, or continue to just lump the ball up the park to no-one, I can understand their frustration, because it get's to me as well at times. They have at least put their money into the club by attending, so have some right to criticise.
-
You have got it 100% correct. If we could have the Hately of early last year back. He would be a useful member of that midfield. But sadly he seems to have lost his way at the present.
-
As you say absolutely spot on. Why can we never get referee's who are at least competent at their job. We should've had a penalty just before Hibs score, and in my eyes the only reason he gave the next penalty, was to try and make up for his initial mistake. Yet again a total arse of a referee.
-
Just a thought but we haven't seen to much of Shaun, it looks like Jonathan Page is now in front of him in the manager's plans, or is he still having injury problems? Always looked a great prospect last year before his injury.
-
Your right it was John Greig who fouled W Pettigrew in the box, Peter McCloy booted the ball up the other end, Derek Johnstone was going away from the goal at the corner of the 18 yard box, when he dived. Took the wind out of Motherwell after leading 2 v 0 at half time, and went on to lose 3 v 2. Sickening! Little blue nosed ref!
-
We know that! It's just they cannae count.
-
Yeh! Really good news. Will go back to having something to eat at half time. The pies they had before were crap.
-
Got to agree about workrate and enthusiasm. He was my man of the match last night. He put in a great shift. Well done John.
-
Noticed that Hearts are back to their old ways. Seven of them booked in their last game. We better watch ourselves.
-
That keeper is a complete bombscare, and should be shown the door at the first opportunity.

I have to agree about Coke, hopefully he is one who we will not be giving a contract too. Doesn't seem to like breaking sweat!
