  1. Maaskant and Van der Gaag was it not? (Clutching at straws!)
  2. Van der Gaag was pretty poor until he came back from his serious knee injury then improved somewhat. He will, rightly, be remember for the goal that kept us up.
  3. It's funny you should say that. I seen booby Williamson at glasgow fort of all places yesterday. Not quite upper crust but significant nonetheless?? Showcasing the finest Kenyan talent??
  4. Remember it well to this day - lying in a part of the terracing that was more grass than concrete and taking in the sun. Then a proper laugh as stevie woods played right wing. Looked more capable there than in goals!
  5. Same as yours with Ferguson Centre half and josh law at full back (think that's their natural positions)
  6. The interview process should be concluded today and remove salano from the list and replace with unnamed English candidate and you won't be far away if reports are to believed. Unless of course if van der Haag and maaskant come as a team tho this is unlikely as we would need to pay off Kenny black. Emphasis on if reports are to be believed!
  7. I'm convinced it won't be butcher (maybe confused with hope it won't be)
  8. ^Well said that man^ Vigurs was shit today but ojamma gave the ball just as much and nothing gets said. Or lasley any other game and it's the same
  9. Mcmanus been decent today too to be fair. What a miss Erwin
  10. Law been excellent defensively second half so far maybe it's because he's a full back?
  11. What about the 3 yard open goal he missed to put us 2 up at porkheid early in season?
  12. Bug bear of mine too. Why not play ojamma up top or give Erwin a try in a game we are expected to get scudded in. At the very least he's 10 times more mobile. Add hammell and Lawson when they are fit and ainsworth when he can be arsed then it's a team that should be able to avoid relegation (providing henrik stays beyond January)
  13. O'Brien and Lawson out Kerr and carswell in
  14. Shit player at motherwell. As a manager fairly successful. Been around Europe - won the polish league with Kraków spells in Belarus - and latterly in the US.
  15. Rob maaskant the latest name being linked I suppose that's more left-field. Decent pedigree and ex player of course.
  16. We will get relegated if we persist with the centre midfield pairing of lasley and Reid / Ramsden between now and the end of the season. We need someone who resembles a footballer somewhere in there. At the very most 1 of the 3 of them should be in central midfield at any one time. Send O'Brien back to Derby. Never thought I would ever say it but get Kerr in at centre half and use o'brien wage on a decent midfielder. Lawson at least showed he can pass a ball on Saturday - pity he's made of chocolate.
  17. Only 3 came out with any credit today - twardzik ojamma and Lawson
  18. How do you know he's good enough though? St mirren tried the same yesterday and put in the worst performance of the season (just when they thought they couldn't be any worse) so it doesn't always work out as planned. Is a relegation battle the time to do it? Leitch Cadden Erwin have all had game time season and it hasn't really worked out I'm sure all will agree. I still maintain that part of the problem is McManus lasley and Sutton have been woeful all season (and have played just about every minute) but I just don't think the youngsters are good enough to replace these 3
  19. I think the quality of our youths is at its worse level in many years. How many times you seen him Stu? All I'm saying is I would rather trust the opinions of those who see them in training every day than those who see his reports on Twitter.
  20. Sieb - I, like most of the rest of the fans, want to see young exciting players in the first team. But I just dont think any of them are good enough, even with us in our current predicament. Looking back over the last 5 years who from our youth team has went on to have a reasonably successful career either at Motherwell or elsewhere? Stuart Carswell, Shaun Hutchinson and Steven Lawless are the only ones that jump out at me without trawling through previous youth squads, and even then those 3 are open to interpretation as SH was signed when he dropped out Wallsend Boys Club and there is some debate that Lawless and Carswell have had successful careers. Edit Forgot Jamie Murphy. I'm no fan of Leitch, and have heard murmurs of player unrest, but at least he has had the balls to sack a few youth coaches who he believes dont have the coaching credentials to improve the technical skills of the youths. Only time will tell if this proves to be successful.
  21. Euan Murray signed for Clyde (yes the mighty Clyde) after his release from Motherwelll. I cant be arrsed trawling through previous threads but there were people calling for him to play more. He had a nightmare home debut for Clyde and i don't think hes been seen since in their team since. Yet many on here were convinced he was good enough for the first team at Motherwell. Deja vu re Thomas, Iv seen Thomas play once (probably no less then the majority on here) and I didnt think that much of him to be honest. But im sure plenty are happy for him to play at the expense of either Ainsworth or Vigurs because he gets glowing reports on twitter.
