What an excellent performance after a dodgy first 10 minutes. No failures in the team today. Carswell struggled to cope with higgy and doolan to start with but otherwise was terrific. Iv been critical of Faddy too but when he plays like he did today then he's a joy to watch - if only he could do it more often. I thought Vigurs played well apart from one dodgy pass in first half that nearly sent thistle through and people are quick to jump on his back whereas the same people don't criticise carswell for doing same thing in 2nd half. It's also good to see us winning games while tinkering with team selections and formations that way we are less predictable in future. A great 3 points - onwards and upwards. The goalies brilliant save at 1 0 massively helped us too

The defence is brutal. Worryingly the goalies and midfield are considerably worse.

My thoughts on today for what's its worth. Lasley and vigurs have got to be worst combination in the middle of a four man midfield. If we are playing that way it should be lawson & 1 of the other two. And on the evidence of today I would pick vigurs as he can at least pass the ball. Mcfaddens performances have been nothing short of pathetic this season. And suttons game would make an onion greet. McManus was poor as was hammell. Hollis had a couple of good saves but still makes me nervous. Team is crying out for pace and creativity and right now we have neither.

Am I the only one who thinks John Sutton is turd? Rather have McFadden up top especially if on their own.

Hated suttons Cement boots 1st time around - 2 yrs worth of miles on the clock since - he's going to be as mobile as rick waller. Inferior to big higgy in all aspects of his game.

It was a pleasure to see Faddy in Claret and Amber all those years ago - some wonderful memories that wont be forgotten. But if he's no intention of signing for us this time around, he should be told to fuck off and make space at training for someone who wants to play for us. There is also potential, if in the extremely slight chance he signs for Aberdeen, that training methods, tactical information could be passed on. There is an argument that this could be case for any transfer of a player, but it would be a kick in the baws to lose a player, who you have trained all pre-season and a good 2 months into the season, to a rival while gaining nothing in return. A 20minute cameo in a bounce game that meant nothing doesn't count towards anything.

I agree with mjc that we are heading for a similar aggregate defeat a la pana but as long as the lager over there is cold and relatively cheap and the team try I couldn't give a fuck. If I could be arsed I would go through all the previous threads that said we had a good chance against the Greeks and have a right good laugh.
