Dont believe the BBC!! I fortunately seen the 2nd half and we basically allowed Aalesund to have all the ball. We were under a fair bit of pressure by the end of the game without looking likely to concede. They had at least 60% of possession. There is a lot of optimism after tonights results and after a 1-1 draw away there maybe its justified. However, there are enough warning signs from tonight performances to be worried about the return leg eg the fact that the Aalesund midfielders were basically pulling the strings for the final half hour of the game. We looked very lively though with Murphy and McHugh upfront the 2nd half and im sure Brown, having seen the norwegian defenders struggling with pace, would have noticed a possible weak link. One thing is for sure the game is only half won. We will need to be very professional to complete the job next week

Bollocks - you knew with the reaction of Saunders and the other players around him that he had gifted them an equaliser Not one single player complained to the referee. He had already nearly cost a goal with a woefully short chested pass back just after we scored. Easily his worst night in a MOtherwell jersey

Totally agree. Am i mistaken or did Sieb not have a howlin' end to the season either the year we finished 2nd or 3rd? I seem to recall him having a holocaust in the last four games of the season. One particular missed cross ball at the edge of our box costing us the points springs to mind (either against Dundee Utd or St Johnstone). In saying that it is over 15 years ago and my memory is not what it should be.

You couldnt have had your credit card with you in Bucharest then when you bumped the bar bill and got me to pay it you miserable c**t!

Reynolds speaking to Coventry tomorrow apparantly after a fee informally agreed. Foreign centre half (possibly Spanish) on trial just now as his replacement.
-
I can agree with what you say cause I have been saying the same about Reynolds for sometime. If you could combine both Craigans and Reynolds main attributes then we would have a really good defender on our hands but we cant and thats why both have limitations and may not play for a much bigger team than Motherwell in their lifetime. Although at least Reynolds has time on his hands to improve the weaknesses. But yeah back on topic i do agree that Reynolds avoids the flak when others seem to take it in the neck eg the last Celtic game he was piss poor and was at fault for at least one goal.

In fairness, I also praised them for their performances at Killie and i acknowledge that this game was our first clean sheet in a long long time. In that respect yes they can be happy with their days works as we got 3 points and a clean sheet. The point im trying to make is that they are not as good as most on here are making out and often escape criticism when others seem to be the target. Being experienced does not guarantee being good enough.

Im not a boo-boy far from it. I was at Kilmarnock on Saturday and was delighted we picked up the 3 points albeit against limited opposition and never slated any single player. Im not a pessimist either. I'm just pissed off with the continued support of our experienced and longest serving players. I know it is all about opinions but how the fuck was Lasley second in the man of the match votes on Saturday after 3 times in the space of 10 minutes letting Craig Bryson turn him easily and run in on goal. His job was to protect the back four. I will admit he did well when involved in our 2nd goal but otherwise i thouht he was very average on Saturday. Give me Jennings or Hately everytime in that position. Lukas, O'Brien, Coke & even Humphrey were all better than Lasley. Now onto Craigan, his performances again St Johnstone and Hearts were to be frank performances that are barely acceptable in the SFL. Whilst he held his own against Kevin Kyle on Saturday (who in my opinion is the most overrated and cumbersome centre forward in the league!) he has severe limitations against any centre forward or supporting midfielder who has any pace or technical ability whatsoever. His legs are gone and his decision making becoming more and more erratic by each passing game. I have accepted that his distribution was woeful for a long time but that his ok if other parts of his game are upto scratch but they arent. As i said above its al about opinions and i am entitled to mine but dont go assuming that i want players to perform badly cause i dont. They two players above and the other 12 players cost me a large sum of money last night so why would i want them to fail. Anyway moving on, 4 points out of the next 2 games is a must if we are to move away from the relegation battle.

null vote for me - never bothered going up thank fuck. But cue the Lasley and Craigan love-in fan club saying they were great again when most probably they were pish AGAIN!

When I was at Forgewood Boys Club we always got Jamie Dolan and Willie Burns who played for Man City (Tam Burns son) to present our trophies.

I remember Andy staying round the corner from me and if i remember correctly Burn Broomfield's family moved into his house in Mossend (before young Cloudy was born) . Ritchie was the local celebrity at that time! Never knew he was a well fan though!

Good luck for the season Steaua - the referee never helped tonight but there is no doubting that the better team won over two legs. I thought the 'well were good tonight but it wasnt to be!
-
Guys as much as we played well, to suggest the referee was the cause of us going out tonight is nonsense - the better team went through. THe ref never helped but credit to the opposition!
-
Must say that while i was not surprised with the quality of Steaua's play, I was well impressed with Bucharest as a city. The area where we were hanging out was clean, the bars nice and the locals friendly (the opposite to what the travelling supporters will encounter in Airdrie next week). Note to Steaua fans - Airdrie is a shit hole! Do not travel alone. You could be pick pocketed, offered sex by 15 year old gran's to be, be lured into a life of herion abuse (easier to get heroin in the streets surrounding the stadium than a friendly hello). Please dont assume that Motherwell or other town / cities in Scotland are as deprived as what you will see in Airdrie. Thanks again to our romanian friends, not least those who invited us to join them at 'Player's' nightclub where I witnessed the finest collection of beautiful girls in the one place ever.
