Good move for him, he was never really up to premiership standard, had a decent turn of pace but not much else.
-
People need to wake up to reality it's probably the only market we can afford. That said it gives the usual suspects who think every player we sign is shite an early season boost of trolling and negative posting its their pre season.
-
That is exactly what will happen until he has 51% and complete control, and at that point the concept of fan ownership will cease and the millions contributed by WS members will have been for nothing. That's the time I fear for the clubs future as it's not guaranteed under Barmack or this offer.
-
That's the problem though, drawing lines, is the attacker's shoulder or big toe offside, going back 5 or 6 passes in case there was an issue it's nonsense. We need to get back to basics ie is there daylight between the attacker and defender that's proper offside. Then we can leave it to the linesman to decide and berate them instead. Sometimes technology does not improve things and VAR is an example of that, it's ruining the game.
-
It's still a complete shambles ruining the game, Ronaldo's shoulder was millimeters in front of the defender, that's not offside ffs, and also not a clear and obvious error. They are now actively looking for excuses not to award a goal, it's a shambles and needs binned.

Sorry but thats pish, If the club gets a loan, then it's an additional income stream onto the total income for that financial year, no different to say selling a player or signing a sponsorship deal etc, so in this case the total income will have increased by £3 million. As it will no doubt be repaid in installments, those payments will then show as expenditure on subsequent accounts until the loan is repayed. So the club was being accurate in counting the loan in the total income figure against the total expenditure and hence calculate a profit or loss accordingly

For me I think Oxborough should get his chance, he probably should have had a run in the team last season when Kelly's form dropped so he deserves a run to show us what he can offer.
-
Why not, fan ownership means the fans, aka "the owners" should have a voice. Not some amateur volunteers who seem to have anonymous and ineffective since the WS was formed. The WS members are committing millions to the club, so there should be proper and accountable governance of how that money is used. Then the WS would be a properly run fan group and not the shambles it seems to have been up till fairly recently.
-
While that may be the case re the rules and ok for the every day trivial stuff, on a decision as major issue this the the WS members need to be consulted, and cannot be left to a random collection of volunteers elected to the WS board. The members are contributing millions in cash so they should have their say.
-
No the insinuation was that they've made no secret that they want out, so sell their shares now or later it makes no difference they get their cash and no further responsibility as if this shit deal goes through Barmack will have full control.
-
The board want away with their cash ASAP, the hard details are of no interest to them as it will no longer be their problem. I get the impression none of them gives a feck what could potentially happen to the club.

It seems we can expect more new players incoming soon. Kettlewell expects signing announcements - https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cekk5jgm44do

As a life long supporter of the club and a non member of the WS I can only say that from the details we have so far this investment deal looks like a crock of shit. A few points seem obvious 1. The governance of the WS from its formation until recently has been an ineffective shambles, taking in millions from the fans with no proper control on where or how that money was spent. 2. The existing club board have used the Fans/ WS as a piggy bank to raid whenever they wanted and the WS were compliant in allowing them to do so. Now they are desperate to get their cash out and walk away. 3. The deal they are so keen to endorse is basically selling the club to Barmack at a knock down price and at the same time fundamentally rendering the WS useless by taking their cash to reduce their own shareholding ffs, but they won't give a toss as they will have their cash and dissappear into the sunset. 4. So after the dust settles Barmack will quietly buy up the private share holdings to gain majority control without any prospect of interference from the WS which means the millions contributed by the members will have all been for nothing. 5. The club will then be in the hands of someone with no great love of football other than seeing a profit from selling it on when he inevitably gets bored. The club really needs to tell these investors to GTF and get it's own house in order first with proper and effective governance for the WS and the club board and then an only then can suitable investment be sought when there are effective safeguards in place to protect the club and its fans, especially the subscribing WS members.

£4 million for O'Donnell would be a great result.
-
The charge is a legally binding agreement which means the club board are unable to sell the ground until the loan is repayed in full, basically its a secured loan. The charge does not automatically fall the club board would need to apply to have it removed so the lawyers need to get involved. It's when you see details like that you begin to realise that the deal on offer is all about eliminating the WS and securing full control over all the club assets for Barmack, or am I being cynical?
-
If the 9 ws members vote then you would like to think that they would all be for or against the proposal whatever it is but if not then a simple majority should be sufficient to determine the official WS position which would then determine how the WS reps on the club board vote. Nothing here is rocket science it's simple democracy, it's time the WS board acted like major shareholders and reminded the Club board who's in charge.
-
The individual WS board members Dave should be voting according to the wishes of the members. Obviously not on every single trivial item, but for a major issue like this all 9 WS board members should be voting according to the wishes of the members and not their own personal views. You have to question whether they were keen to get on the WS board for a genuine belief in fan ownership or for their own self aggrandisement, I think the 3 who resigned were the latter.
-
The current WS and club boards could learn a lot from him re keeping WS members and every other fan informed of what's going on at the club, instead of the radio silence we're used to.
-
Bring back the 1927-28 kit, that's a belter a proper footie top, oh and white shorts not black.
-
OK people enough with the attempts at Bird humour now please. No wonder Barmack is posting on P&B and not here.
-
That's the main problem here the WS are the majority shareholders they should be involved in every major decision the club takes. Yes the WS representatives on the club board need to vote but that should be in accordance with the members views, especially for a major decision such as this. Up till now the club board have basically ignored the WS, taking the money but ignoring them for everything else. And it's all because the WS was set up with no professional people on board and run by volunteers who seem to have done what they were told to by the club board ie leave running the club to us and don't Interfere.
-
There is the basis for a complete mini series in that one statement.
-
The WS are the majority shareholders, owners, controlling interest, etc so nothing major should happen at The club without them knowing about it and sanctioning it, ie additional investment proposals, so if the WS board in line with the memberships wishes don't fancy it then it should go no further. And the club board should be told go and try again However as the WS was never set up with any serious Intent in terms of getting professional people onboard. It's been left to the volunteers to deal with the club board who want out ASAP and clearly have no time for the WS. The WS has been nothing more than a piggy bank to the club since it was set up with members contributing significant sums of cash with no real benefits in return, it's fan ownership in name only. So as the current club board are desperate to get out , now maybe the time for the WS to step up, get their act together restructure and get some professional people in place to run the club going forward for real and effective fan ownership.

That's claret and yellow, sorry luminous yellow

I'm not disagreeing with you, sometimes it takes some unorthodox moves to make an investment work long term. But the low offer and the effective removal of the WS in the plan on offer makes it a Mon starter for me.
