The 2 candidates from America seems a bit strange, unless it's weeyin or Texanwellfan wanting to get involved. I guess Barmack managed to convince them how good we were 🙂
-
When everyone is fit we are going to have some size of squad with a lot of them not getting very much game time. I thought the plan this season was quality not quantity it's early days so I hope the new arrivals so far live up to the quality tag.

Most people do, thats borderline banjo country out there.

As i said in the original post, they go in the south stand as do 99% of the away fans, the only reason the RC fans are in the side of the POD is because it's not worth opening the south stand for such small numbers. Although they do seem to take a random approach to it as the Edinburgh city fans were in the top tier for the league cup game.
-
£5 or £10 off a ticket price would not have persuaded any more RC fans to travel down from Dingwall yesterday, most away supports are terrible it only the uglies, Hearts and Hibs that get anywhere near filling the south stand. Also is it not against league rules to charge fans different price for similar areas of the ground ,plus offering a Say £5 discount to the 200 odd RC fans who turned up on Saturday would cost the club £1K, repeat the same with the uglies and it's 4,000 fans at £5. So it's not good fiscal policy.

Clubs like St Mirren and Kilmarnock suffer the same issue as we do ie we all play in west central Scotland and as such the vast majority of the football fans are following the ugly sisters. As far as I can recall our support has been at or around the level it's at now for the last 40 odd years irrespective of how well we do or not. St and Killie have slightly bigger supports but not by a great deal. We can run various offers and schemes etc and crowds may increase temporarily but over the season they will average out to their current levels. Our potential fanbase is limited and that was the main concern i had and still have re the WS making fan ownership effective. So for me id rather have long term initiatives to improve the fan experience for our core support instead of short term projects that ultimately show no long term benefit, we are what we are.

Are the catering points not run by a 3rd party company the same as the shop? I agree the potential cost may not be large but I get the impression that every penny is a prisoner at Fir park so the less they spend the happier everyone is

Judging by what I seen of Rangers yesterday against Hearts that statement would equally apply to them, they are nothing special, so a win for us would not surprise me either.

It's all down to finances, a pay at the gate option would require a dedicated turnstile in every section of the ground to be set-up with cash and card payment methods, trained operators, someone to collect the cash, count it, take it to the bank etc so a significant outlay to set up. These days it's becoming harder to find places that actually take cash, card is king. So the club might not think it's worth the outlay. But I fully agree if you are trying to encourage people to attend you need a PATG option for each stand. I'm sure the WS can deal with it going forward.

Trying too hard, turn the sarcasm filter down.

Spittal came on 2nd half last 20 mins I think, like for like swap with Dhanda.

Should have won today so 2. Points thrown away, RC were dreadful and never looked like scoring. Can't understand taking Ebiye off and bringing on Wells , we were allegedly trying to win the game so an extra striker would have been the better option. There is no width in the team, so that needs to be addressed , but that said we never lost so and are joint top so onwords and upwards.

Given his recent performance and the shit show that the Barmack offer turned into he should not have a choice, go and never darken the door again should be the response to him.

I don't know why people are questioning our Academy policy, financial constraints mean no reserve team, so the Academy is what we have. This means we bring in lots of promising teenagers and develop them over a few years, some get pro contracts the majority dont, and from those that earn a pro contract the majority of those won't make the grade and will be released. The few exceptional talents, will all get their chance at 1st team football ie McFadden, Pearson, Campbell, Turnbull, Johnson and Miller so over the years the policy has worked well for us If we get 1 or 2 making the grade from each Academy intake that's a great return, however the reality is the vast majority of them won't cut it and will be released, every club in the country operates in the same way.
-
People need to realise that in all reality the majority of the academy players on pro contracts are as good as they will ever get in footballing terms, and won't kick on to the 1st team. Good coaching can teach a player a lot but you can't coach basic ability into a player so let's face facts for every Turnbull, Campbell, Miller or Johnson there will be several mckinstry's, Hasties etc. The Motherwell model is develop 1 or 2 great talents and sell them on for a profit whether that is players we've signed ie Bair or home grown like Johnson.

In spirit yes Dave, but the body is beginning to show it's age.😂 -
I see our penalty shootout problems continue, the Academy team were knocked out of the challenge Cup tonight by East Stirling 8-7 on pens.

As was I in 1961, will always be the maternity for me, think it's a geriatric hospital now, so I might go full circle and end up back there at some point 😂 -

That's probably the same mob that were heading through the Maternity hospital as I was parking the car, before the game a few of them wearing ski masks, the drum was there as well, others recording it all, looked like they were spoiling for a fight with someone -

News story said they wanted to bring sub on 5 mins from the end, head of refereeing Wullie Collum has admitted they made a James hunt of it and apologised. News report stated they were seeking an explanation and the game replayed, nothing from any official at PT -

STV news reporting Thistle have complained to the SFA/ SPFL about not getting the sub on, apparently they want the game to be replayed. -

Apparently there was a rammy in the steelworks after the game yesterday, judging by the picture it looks like there were more police there than punters. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/13242043/cops-scots-pub-football-fans-clash-two-arrested/#Echobox=1722253430 Only two arrests it seems so not exactly riot material. -

No surprise to anyone in that statement the referee was dreadful yesterday, there's a good reason we never saw any Scottish officials at the Euros, they are all hopeless, I suspect that won't be their last mistake this season.
