Relegation would be bad but not a disaster if the board kept faith with the team with some additional investment to replace 3 or 4 players then we would be good enough to get straight back up. Remember it would be a championship without Rangers and probably Hibs, clubs like Falkirk Dunfermline Raith rovers and the like have all been out of the top division for a long time because the championship is their level and we are a much better team than most of that league. So while i dont want it to happen it would not be a disaster.

I think the squad we have has the potential to put us higher up the league than we are at present but there are a few of them who dont seem to be trying and week in week out look as though they cant be bothered. Ainsworth and Pearson are the worst offenders IMO, McDonald and Johnson have had their moments but they are not consistent enough, Gomis hs only been here a couple of weeks but after yesterday it already looks like he wants to be somewhere else. There will need to be a radical clean out in the summer as we cant afford another season of half arsed performances.

No surprise here then another negative doom and gloom post you must be loving this run of bad form we are on. Try some positive thinking you might like it
-
Cadden for me he was the only positive today always trying to get forward and wanting to win the ball. A good mention for Law thought he done ok as well, as for the rest of them utter pish especially the midfield trio Pearson Gomis And Ainsworth who took pishness and non trying to new levels.

Dont care how we play as long as we score 1 more goal than untd we need a win to stop the rot.
-
Why does it matter who recomended him its not as if he did not have the experience for the job ? Thats what board members should do identify potential candidates etc not sure what point you are trying to make.
-
We could get nobody with the talent and abillity that McFadden has, he wont be on big money probably on a par with the rest of the team.
-
So we dump McGhee with 13 games to go an spend a few weeks with everybody getting orgasmic about bringing back Valakari or van der Gaag or some other ex player with dubious managerial records is that the way to keep the club out of the relegation issue i think not. Granted McGhees tactics have been bizarre the last few games but i still think he has the experience to get the team winning again.
-
we are not doing well just now but we are not in real bother as you put it, that applies to Dundee untd. we are right in the middle of a relegation playoff fight along with another 3 or 4 teams. But a couple of wins and we are top 6 so no crisis yet but we need to improve dratically.
-
Ok we know you dont rate him highly and Normally i would defend Hammell as one of our better players but on that showing today i have to agree with you mate.
-
we were feckin dreadful today the only bright spots were Skippy and Cadden the rest were awful in particular our midfield trio Pearson, Gomis and Ainsworth rarely have i seen 3 players contribute as little to a game i was surprised Ainsworth lasted 45 min to be honest he was so bad. Our run of form is bad but we are not at crisis levels just yet 2nd bottom but not detached we still have 13 games left to get 2 or 3 places up the league, 10th or better is the target this year and i think we can make it.

Can't see what there is to discuss, "Faddy do you want a job till the end of the season on a decent wedge or are you happy to be unemployed" deal or no deal
-
I would be happy if the team concentrated on the last few minutes as well and avoid more late goal nonsense.

Was not there yesterday Dave but having seen Gomis a few times for Hearts I think he is the better option of the 2, Lasley has lost that half yard of pace in the last couple of seasons, he is 2nd to just about every ball this season and ends up chasing for most of the game. The problem comes at the end of the season though, assuming we don't sign Gomis permanently we need to replace Lasley as I have my doubts as to whether he is up to another season.

I am still not 100% convinced the club is heading in the right direction as regards ownership Fans and/or rich tax exiles, but on the field I think we are getting there. Yes we have had a very bad January, needless points lost in the League and dumped out of the cup, but some people need to chill out a bit, look at the league table, there are only 9 points separating 4th from 11th so string 2 or 3 wins in a row and we could be in 4th place, so we need to toughen up and see games out when we are in winning positions. The race this year is not to finish 11th, as barring an unlikely change in their form Dundee untd are down, there are still 42 points to play for and I am confident that McGhee will get it right, the signs have been there in recent weeks that we have the makings of a decent team, but if we want to climb the league we need to be more ruthless and kill teams off, defending in the other teams half in the closing minutes of games would be a start. So now is the time for the fans to get behind the team and the manager, and who knows our next 4 league games are V Killie, Dundee Untd, St Johnstone and Partick all very winnable games so take 9 or 10 points from those and we could even be as high as 4th, so lets wait and see.

Does anybody really give a toss what Vigurs did or did not do,he is no longer a motherwell player so i dont. Lets welcome him back to Fir park by pumping ICT tomorrow.

Not a sycophant and I never dribble my porridge I like it too much just a footie fan who has been watching the well for a long time the highs and lows. A all that time I have never had any problems with police, stewards, felt the need to bring a flare or smoke bomb/pellet to set off at a game, turn a football match into a political demo, etc, etc.
-
In that case then there is no point in any of them coming on here always complaining about stewarding, or policing or lack of support for the solidarity demos with the green brigade etc. Just do what you want I am sure after a few more arrests etc the novelty will wear off

How will you cope during the summer when it dawns on you that we were not relegated or involved in the playoffs..do you have counselling organised or maybe some positive thinking lessons booked?
-
As i said defensive errors were made by a few in the lead up to the goal but if Ainsworth had tracked his man and tackled properly Lawless would not have scored. Also i dont think for a minute that McGhee guessed that Ainsworth would go all girly and start greetin, he should have manned up in the interview, shit happens in games and got on with it instead of greetin.
-
I watched the highlights and i am sorry but if Ainsworth had been a bit more forceful with his tackle and launched the ball into the stand then they would not have scored. Yes there were defensive error in the lead up play but Ainsworth was ball watching never got on terms with Lawless and stuck a leg in hoping for the best when if he had been tracking properly he might have made a decent tackle. So yes i think he was at fault for the goal and i have no problems about McGhee naming and shaming him, if it drives him on to try harder next game then it was worth it.

Can we drop all this ex player chat vigurs, lawless etc and concentrate on the players who are at the club now. Personally i dont give a feck about what a player does or how he plays after he leaves the club. We have enough issues with our own players to worry about.
-
wring your pants out ffs there are 8 points between St Johnstone in 5th and Kille in 11th. We have another 42 to play for so hardly a feckin crisis, disaster or must not lose or any other doom and gloom cliche you are fond of.
