Me neither he can be really good but he's a potential bomb scare at times guaranteed at least one or two mistakes every game.
-
I take your point RE Kelly, he's the last line of defence, if the defenders in front of him are not doing their job then it makes his job a lot harder. Stop the crosses coming in and you'll stop a lot of the goals we concede
-
Actually there are 3 teams below us in terms of goals conceded, Livi, Ross County and Dundee so we're not the worst. As for goals scored we're joint 4th with Hearts, behind Celtic, Rangers and Hibs.

If SK had been sacked we would probably be heading to the Championship by now, and the usual fuckwits would still be whinging about the new manager and how they need to be dumped. I'm glad the club seen sense, it's stability we need not a constant churn of managers every other season.

Post of the day, well said 👏

Who do we need to compete with, only Motherwell fans buy Motherwell season tickets, so not increasing the prices is a good thing. A price increase even a modest one might have pushed the price beyond some people's budget. So if there's no need for an increase its happy days and a good move by the club.

No emoji required, I always judge players on how they perform, don't always get it right as I thought Bair was brutal but he's a great example of how new players should get time to settle and prove themselves instead of being written of as shite after 5 minutes.
-
30 years old never played in the top league, scores a few goals but not exactly prolific. I don't think he'd be a direct replacement for Spittal but our midfield has been a problem for years now, so hopefully this has finally been recognised. He has plenty of experience so that's a bonus. As always if he is coming on board he will be judged on how he performs.

The who gets what per week debate at whatever club etc is pointless as it's all uniformed bullshit guessing from all of us the only people who know for sure are the actual players and the clubs wages department.
-
Aye money we'll spent 🤣 🤣
-
I think some on here have an unrealistic view of just how much a typical Motherwell player earns. We are now used to describing your average footballers wages in the 10's of thousands etc but for me I think that's fantasy land when discussing Motherwell. There may be 1 or 2 senior players on maybe 2 or 3k a week, but I believe the vast majority of the squad are on significantly lower wages than that so £600 a week may be nearer the truth.
-
Thanks Theo nice to see your backing yourself, self confidence is important.
-
At the financial levels we operate at re wages etc £750k would fund possibly 4 or 5 players, so it's very decent cash to a club like ours. And the bigger English clubs know this all too well, it's small change to them.
-
I give you Kevin Van Veen we cashed in perfectly on him, as we did with Michael Higdon. The Motherwell way is cash in when the decent cash is on offer.
-
We can keep him till next summer, if his agent has a sniff of a better deal for him elsewhere he wont sign an extension and let his contract run down and we get feck all. So if that happens the club will say yes take the money on offer and say thanks Theo best of luck with your career.
-
In the real world a player is only as valuable as what another team are prepared to pay, no offers no sale and he walks for nothing next summer.
-
So would most of us, but if the club gets an offer of £750K as has been mentioned or maybe even more then he will be away. That's the way Motherwell operate bring a player in for next to nothing develop him the sell on for a profit and a good sell on clause.
-
Aye good business as long as we have a replacement lined up. Spittal is away to Hearts, and if Bair goes as well that's probably 25 goals or so out of the team, very difficult to replace.

If we are that well off, why are we actively seeking additional investment then?
-
That's correct league winners go into CL group stage, 2nd get CL playoff round, and Guaranteed EL groups, 3rd get EL playoff round and confirmed ECL group stage unless Aberdeen win the Scottish Cup then 3rd and 4th get Conf league And if either of uglies or Hearts win the Scottish cup then 4th and 5th get CL. I think that's the arrangements 😁

The truth is out there somewhere 🤫
-
The whole concepts of a " fan owned " club was laudable but in Motherwell's case given our fanbase limitations it was never going to be a long term sustainable operating model. If we were a league 2 club say then it might work but never on the financial demands of a full time premiership team. And it seems that the board have finally realised this hence the search for outside investment, and for me the price of that investment if it happens would be majority control of the club, Investors want their returns. If the WS members reject whatever proposals re giving up majority control that may be put before them as is their right, without having any alternatives in place then I can see a potential funding crisis ahead for the club.
-
As the majority shareholders the WS members having the final say on any major decision taken by the club over the years should have been normal practice. But from what the members have said including yourself the consultation / communication etc has been zero, so as I said is there any confidence that this approach will change as it needs to?

A choice between two beauties for me Spittal's long range effort v Ross County and Blaneys volley v Dundee.
