  1. Any wage he may be offered from us is better than whats he is on now ie feck all..but i really hope we dont sign him he is an arse a billy big boots who got found out big time at Blackburn. Another member for the wasted talent club to join, Riordan, O'Connor, etc
  2. £20 sent via pay pal this morning.
  3. Good bit of business signing Reid, i think he will do well, no mucking about with signings this season it seems, getting our deals done early
  4. You are right Dave, for a "wee diddy club" as some refer to us we do ok, and so far the Football armageddon predicted after Rangers died has not happened. We seem to be living within our means, a bit hand to mouth at times but we are getting there. I can only hope that the new general manager and the board can unearth some other revenue streams / income to give us a bit of leeway if the Well society is not going to hit it's target.
  5. Selling the naming rights to Fir Park for a few years is a great idea as long as it was for a decent wedge of cash. Nobody would care what it was called as they would still refer to it as Fir Park so easy money for the club. Thats the kind of extra income streams the club should be exploring,
  6. Skippy Sunday, best day out at Fir park in a long time, the sight of their greetin faces was worth the ticket money alone, a good old fashioned GITRUY moment
  7. Agree with this, given our average fan base i always thought that the targets set by the WS were a bit ambitious, i think that everybody who can afford to and wants to join has already done so. I think it's now up to the board and / or WS to try to seek some external investment into the club, maximise current revenue streams, and generally try to live within our means. They have done well in recent seasons to try to keep the player budget as high as it can be and this has been rewarded by consecutive runners up spots, European football etc. Fan / community ownership is a great idea but for a club of our size and limited fan base, i dont think it is viable.
  8. Bangor city in Wales for me..easy to get to, big travelling support, nice easy starter.
  9. Wonder when the rumours linking him with Sevco will start,
  10. Not for me, he is no better than what we have just now, so would add nothing to the team.
  11. As we are seeded for Q2, does anybody know if we will be at home for the 1st or 2nd leg, or do we have to wait for the draw , trying to sort out some time off work ?
  12. Now that the season is over and the prize money is being handed out it has highlighted the huge differences between the Scottish and English premierships in the amount of TV and prize money each club receives. As i understand Motherwell received just over £1.6m in prize and TV money (not 100 % certain of that figure) for finishing runners up in the SPFL, while trying to find out how much the English teams received i came accross the following web page http://www.tsmplug.com/football/premier-league-prize-money/ It just shows how vast the differences are, Cardiff finished bottom and they still got £63.7 million !! is it any wonder that the Scottish game is struggling, thoughts and comments please
  13. Watch this 5:27 in the best image of the day. Sensational climax as Well pip Dons at the death:
  14. This..payback is a bitch, Aberdeen have been our bitches up there for nearly 5 years now.
  15. Instead of a slim fit spandex option..aye right why cant we have a sponsor free option. The shirts would look so much better without the cash converters on it. We had it a couple of seasons back so why not every tine
  16. Sutton for me, as slow as a week in the jail but he knows how to score, 22 league goals is a great return
  17. Tend to agree with that, and in addition he has not had a great season on the pitch, one or 2 games playing like we know he can but overall he has been at best average in most games. Will that sort of form bring in better offers from other clubs, i don't think it will. So i fully expect him to be at Fir park next season as well.
  18. Just say what you mean...." the ref was an arsehole, that night and i have serious concerns over his abilities to run the game smoothly on Sunday"
  19. Even if the sheep win on Tues as long as we do the same against ICT on wed then the last game wont be meaningless..a win for us and its 2nd place
  20. FFS You never give up with the negative shite do you..
  21. Personally i would like to see us make the group stages of the EL..that would be progress. But i would settle for being in the EL draw.

    Dundee Utd

Was not at the game...thankfully, but voted for Ainsworth because he scored
  23. Now that we are at the business end of the season what would we as well fans consider to be a sucessful season. More points than last year, another European adventure, 2nd place and best of the rest or a combination or indeed all 3 ? Given what we have achieved in recent seasons, consistent European involvement, 2nd place finishes, champions league☺, cup finals etc have our expectations as a club changed ? I personally feel that given the size of the club, resources etc we have done fantastically well and i will be dissapointed if we dont finish 2nd but is it unrealistic to think that a club of our means should not be there. Thoughts and comments please
  24. The simple truth re the well society that was evident right from tbe start is that Motherwell as a club do not have a big enough fan base to make generating the £1.5 million a viable prospect. And even though the club has been doing well in recents years we are not a big enough advertising prospect to attract significant commercial investment. The WS membership as it stands is probably as good as it will get, there may be a few more each season as induvidual financial circumstances change but i dont think we will hit the target. In the Herald article Leanne Dempster stated that the WS was currently about £1m short, thats another 40 commitments to the top £25k package or just over 3000 on the basic £350 deal with our average fan base its not going to happen.
