If we sit back and play for a point we will get pumped..get right into them from the start,same as the Celtic game and we will get a result and secure at least 3rd and Europe (Celtic will beat ICT) yet again.

I agree with that, the earlier we start in Europe the better. Given our consistent qualification over recent seasons our current coefficient would probably see us seeded in Q1 and Q2. So more chance of winnable ties to increase the coefficient which is good. Last season if i remember we were only 2 or 3 points off being seeded for Q3 so winning through a couple of rounds would help us big time.

I think our support was only down slightly as for any old firm game live on TV or not its only ST holders that tend to go,the casual punters tend not to bother. The main reason for the low attendance was the thousands of Celtic fans who did not bother to go, which i can understand, league won, nothing at stake, game live on Sky etc.

Nice sunny holiday weekend, game live on TV, stupid kick off time, Celtic already champions, these 4 reasons alone cut the attendance significantly. The poor away support was to be expected but our own support was well down on previous Celtic games, it seemed like only the hardcore ST holders were there.

Agree with that..they were there for the taking today ..it felt like 2 points dropped but any result to get it right up that mob is good.. A feckin awesome performance from all the team today

The 2 homes games against ICT and StJ are must win and i think we will take 6 points there, anything from Celtic is a bonus. The untd and Aberdeen games are hard to call, if the sheep get to the cup final then we have a good chance to get right into them the week before as they might have one eye on the final. So i think we may get at least 8 points maybe 9.

Just watched the higlights online...feckin ridiculous decision for the pen not even close and how Brines can award it from where he was is beyond belief..that arse should never get to referee any game ever again. As for the 3rd...Gunnar beaten at his near post..thats poor stuff

Totally agree with that..still 15 points to play for and we are well placed. The thing that annoys me most is that we have lost 9 ponts from winning positions 7 against dross like Killie, Hibs and St Mirren, even the 2 agaist the Sheep should never have got away. So we should be home and dry by now Europe confirmed and a couple of points away from securing 2nd. But its the motherwell way, as it stands 4 points will see us improve on last season which given the changes is a fantastic effort by the team. We will be in Europe as i expect a Aberdeen v untd cup final..but can we finish 2nd yes we can..

Never made the game today..dissapointing to lose to a poor side like Kille chance to go 2nd missed..but we are still in a good position. The next 2 games are massive so we need to respond well...6 points and we can go into the split in a strong position to challenge for 2nd place. There are 21 points to play for we need 7 to improve on last seasons total..we are in good shape.

Not this season though, England gets 4 CL and 3 EL places, 2 of which go to the FA cup and Carling cup winners. Arsenal are the only potential CL qualifiers left in the cup,so even if they win it unlike Scotland the runners up dont get the EL place it goes to 5th in the league. So Man Untd will need to finish at least 5th to play in Europe.

Aye it takes a serious investment of cash to build the time machine that seems to have taken them all back to the early 80's and the "new Firm", expect a European trophy soon.

Dont care about the score as long as we have 1 more goal than Killie..the only danger they have is Boyd so he will need watching. A win for the good guys and another 3 points.

By bigger i was referring to history, honours won, time spent in top divisions, fan base and average attendences over the years, European participation..etc etc. And i think on all of these we can be classed as a bigger club. But you are right the more sucess we have the fans expectations change so finishing above ICT and STJ etc is expected every season.

Good post, i agree we are a bigger club than STJ, ICT and the like. A top six finish and challenging for a European place is expected of us now so the media dont pay any attention. The media are desperate for a replacement team to talk shite about till Sevco get back to the SPfl, hence the wankfest we have just now over Aberdeen and Untd.

Agreed the SFA are shit scared of upsetting either of those two..but UEFA rules are clear re new clubs and to them Rangers are a diddy club so it wont happen. It would be nice to see UEFA slapping them down though

Neilsen for me, he was never worked too hard but everything stuck to him, and good saves when required a good solid perfomance.
