As much as Scooojy and Ekwellfan have put a lot of effort into analysing the EL draw between the 2 of them we now have potentially 12 different opponents FFS !!! Lets just wait till the draw is made then we can talk about where we are going.
-
if he signs, plays well, scores a few goals and helps the team progress and do well, then I don't give a feck about his personal hygene..he will be one of our own and should be supported. Then if he turns out like Daley he is fair game
-
Thank F**k for that, Goodwillie is an obnoxious wee fud who was found out big time at Blackburn, he would bring nothing to the team.
-
The majority of the seeded teams in the Q3 draw give me the fear its going to be tough.
-
Agree with that getting to the play off round is possible with a favourable draw..but getting through another 2 games against a potentialy stronger team to make the group stages will be a big ask. However that said on our day we are good so never say never and if we can keep the likes of Faddy, Higdon, Humphrey and Ojamma we will be contenders in every game

Not caring where we get drawn...will be doing my best to get there..but would love an easy trip...eurostar to Brugges would be my choice.

Ludicrous Poll Time - Are You Rangers Or Celtic Minded?
Spiderpig replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Why is this shite appearing on a Motherwell forum FFS..hotd please. -
I hope that now SMC has decided to stay he can get some players signed up and get this thread back on topic ASAP.
-
Seems SMC is staying, on the BBC site now, apologies if this has been posted previously http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22677357

I don't see what all the fuss is about over Law, In footballing terms he is never going to get a chance at a big club, SPL, Mid table championship or League 1 in England is his level, its not as if he was another potential Lionel messi FFS. If Sevco are offering him a deal where he earns 2 or 3 times what he is on just now for playing in an easier league etc then its a no brainer. All this shite about no ambition etc is pish it only applies to the elite of the game the Beckhams, Messi's Ronaldo's etc for whom money is not a worry and they will look to win titles, cups etc. The other 99.999 % footballers are doing a job like anybody else, and as its a relatively short working career in respect to other professions they will try to get the best paying job they can, so Law is only doing the best for himself and his family so good luck to him.
-
Its all getting far too complicated, Can we not just wait till the draw, my head is getting sore now
-
Given the luck we usually have in European or cup draws it will be the furthest away and hardest to get to place in the draw..so Donetsk seems favourite
-
SMC will be staying..he might have to do a bit of rebuilding but i think he will be up for it, 3rd last season, 2nd this year. So next season we have to be aiming for 1st and possibly EL group stages as a minimum, he wont get that excitement in Sheffield
-
Voted for Higdon's goal against Celtic, he won the initial ball and then his movement was unusually good for him, getting to the back post looking for the ball and excellent control to hit it on the volley...all round a fantastic effort.
-
No thanks with that one, he is an obnoxious wee fud, couple of good seasons at Tannadice then found out big time at Blackburn, he would be a waste of a wage, and would offer nothing better than we have just now with Higdon or Ojamma (assuming they are both here next season).
-
It was a shitehole...but a warm and sunny one with cheap beer..would love another adventure there
-
have to agree with that..Law has done well in his time at Fir park..but i dont care where he goes..if he has decided to move on. Lets think about the players staying and any new signings
-
I mentioned entry into the EL 3rd qualifying, only as a more fitting reward for the efforts of the team over a 38 game season rather than starting at a lower round because another team gets lucky and does well in 3 games( i.e Hibs beating Aberdeen, Killie and Falkirk (just) to get to Europe). But from the Motherwell point of view i would rather we started in round 2, being seeded and winning some games as this boosts the club and countrys co-efficient, which may get us to a point where we are seeded in later rounds.
-
Now that we are sure of our European place and hoping for a Celtic Cup win, to get us into EL 3rd Qualifying it seems the time to get the Euro thread started for this year. In recent years our participation in Europe has become a very regular event, but i for one don't think that its enough now, i would like to see us take the next step and get to the group stages, but given the challenges that SMC will have to keep the bulk of the current squad in place, that might be a step too far. Thoughts and comments please.

3rd last year...now runners up this year...the SPL's top scorer and PFA player of the year as our main striker...brilliant performances and another European adventure to look forward to...beating the champions twice...and Faddy coming home, what a feckin belter of a season.
-
That was my only complaint about yesterday...Celtic show no respect to any other team so they deserved to get none back...i turned my back on them at that point
-
The exchange on Academy st is ok or the phoenix just a bit further down on same side...the sports bar on Academy St usually has a few travelling fans in but its a bit of a dive..
-
What a performance from us today...in their faces from the start...gave them a goal start and then dominated for the rest of the game..ripped the pish out of them last 10 mins.
-
you really are a sad sorry individual and the constant negative pish you spout is becoming tedious and boring..give it a rest FFS.

Whether we like it or not Football needs the TV money and all the advertising revenue it brings..Sky, ESPN, BT etc know this so they call the shots, and if the basic product on offer is poor the money they put up suffers. So rather than waste time and cash messing about with league structures..spend it on developing young players, better coaching, better facilities for training etc. Then if we have better developed players the games will improve, which will bring in more fans etc then we have a better product to sell to TV.
