This is getting boring now...who gives a feck what ex managers or players however good or bad they were perceived to be get up to. Let it go and discuss something interesting.
  5. I got that impression as well when i read it..i dont think the support is there for removing the ban
  6. 3 points, back to back wins, 3rd in the league..all round a good day at the office..bring on St Mirren
  7. Never made game due to work..recorded it for later, a good 3 points how did we play..did Ramsden deserve to walk
  8. Just browsing Bert Kassies Uefa site and i came accross our European record since we 1st took part in 1992, its not the best of records Played - 28 Won - 9 Lost - 18 Drawn - 1 For - 32 Against - 35 Lots of room for improvement http://kassiesa.nl/uefa/clubs/search/fm.php?search= Motherwell%20Sco
  9. Did we lose a goal...no, did Hollis have to get his gloves dirty and make a save..no, did the team do their job and win the game..yes. So all in a good days work, winning games when not playing particularly well, the mark of a good team
  10. Carswell for me outstanding today, deserves a run in the team. At the other end of the scale..Hammell was pish
  11. It was win ugly but we really should have won by 2 or 3...Partick are shocking. Still a good 3 points and a bonus of other results going for us..bring on killie
  12. Not for me, he seems to be a decent enough player but from what i hear he is an obnoxious wee fud who thinks he is gods gift to football. i may be wrong but i dont think we need any shite attitudes in the dressing room, we need all the team spirit and harmony we can get just now.
  13. Feck me thats a stonewaller...right in front of the ref, no wonder Lasley was angry
  14. Totally agree with that, the CL and EL are geared up to make sure that the big teams from the main European leagues get even more cash each year, thats why they are spending and paying out obscene amounts of cash for players etc. UEFA don't give a rats arse about any of the smaller nations or the possible financial hardships they might suffer just for qualifying, is that a fitting reward for a good season. If you look at the CL group stages year in year out its the same teams involved, occasionally there is a smaller team involved, like St Pats in last years EL groups and Ommonia Nicosia in the CL, but usually its the same major European teams each year. Its the main Euro nations calling the shots, and UEFA are shit scared of upsetting Barca, Real Madrid, Man untd, Bayern etc in case the tell them to feck off and negotiate their own TV deals.
  15. Looks like another 2 match changes for TV Dundee untd away now Sunday 22/9 @ 15:00, live on BT sport Hibs home game now Sunday 3/11 @ 12:30 BT sport http://eclipse-retail-content.intra.bt.com/itool/btsportguide/fixtures.html
  16. Hollis for me, good shot stopping, quick off his line when required, had no chance at any of the goals so no blame there. Anier was a close second
  17. As ineffective as we were yesterday, we coped well for 60 mins, Aberdeen were running out of ideas then as we tend to do at Motherwell we gave them a get out of jail free card and let them back into the match without working for it. The pen gave them a lift and we fell apart, our midfield was all over the place, Faddy contributed feck all the whole game, he was a passenger, if he is injured then why did he start, he never tracked back and left Ramsden exposed all the time ( but as he should never be playing right mid anyway, thats maybe to be expected). As for the pens.. yes Hamell made a james hunt of it, but Mcmanus had no need to dive in, the 2nd one was very soft, if Ref's start to award pens for that then we will have 2 or 3 every game. Reynolds took his goal well but we still cant defend set pieces and corners effectively, we look suspect every time. It was a bad day at the ofice, but putting it into perspective its 2 games in to a 38 game season, so a very long way to go, its a new team they need time to settle. We have taken 50% of the points on offer so far, if we still have that figure at the end of the season we will be in Europe again so no need for panic. Oh and we badly need a right winger with some pace, we are missing Humphrey big time.
  18. away and dont talk shite...1-1 last night would have been a great result against a good side..we had the chance not to get beat but we never took it, thats why smc reacted like he did, as would any manager.Plus a draw is another 0.5 on the co-efficient next year that might have meant being seeded or not.
  19. Its a dissappointing decision from SMC, its sending the message out that he thinks we are beaten before the game is even played. What sort of confidence does that install in the players when the manager is so negative. As for the Aberdeen game, its not as if its a title decider, its game 2 of a 38 game season FFS, they have been our bitches for 4 or 5 seasons now,why should Sunday be any different. I agreee with Fatcalf that the competition is loaded against teams like Motherwell progressing, but if we have a great season again and qualify for Europe, unless we are going to give it our best shot, ie strongest available team selection etc, then we might as well not bother taking part. There were another 38 clubs in Scotland who would love to have been playing in Europe this year, so in my opinion sending a weakend side is not doing ourselves or Scottish football justice. If you think you are beaten before you start then you will be, so why not get the players up for it, show confidence and get right into them. When it comes to the European matches the main problem Motherwell has is getting over our own inferiority complex, oh its Pana, Levante,Odense , Kuban, ( next years opponents) etc they are better than us we have no chance. Just once i would like to see SMC talking us up before a European game, instead of running scared from teams
  20. Away and dont talk shite...you sound like a "Glass always empty" sort of guy, do you ever see the final whistle of any games you go to, "oh feck its 20 mins in, we are 2 down, the games lost i'm away up the road". As you point out we have been beaten by better teams, there is no shame in that but at least we tried with our best players.
  21. Game already lost....FFS what a ridiculous statement to make..hopefully none of the players have the same attitude as you.
  22. Pish...our strongest team should be going, we are 2-0 down at half time so we still have a chance to get something from the game. Apart from that is it asking too much to have the players play 2 games in 4 days, i think not. We are a new side, so everybody needs as much game time as they can to get to know each other. Sending the reserves to Kuban would be a big mistake, i have never liked the teams who field their League teams, Cup teams, Euro teams etc, as a fan you want to see the strongest team play every game. When we are 3-2 up on aggregate and into the last 30 seconds of the game then SMC can rest a few of the players, but not before
  23. 1-0 up and running, bring on the russians...yaaaas
  24. got to agree with that,SMC set up for the draw and we got beaten.i would like to have seen us go for it, who knows it might have paid off. The Kuban coach saw at half time that we were no threat with 1 up top and went to 2 at the back, 2 full backs pushed up and 7 mins in they got the goal. We give European opposition too much respect, treat them the same as any other SPl team And get right into them, if we get beaten then so be it but at least we gave it a go
  25. I am beginning to get pissed off with all this European nonsense now, every season for the last few years the team plays well, gets results and secures European qualification and we all look forward to the draw. Then the usual happens and we dont turn up and get fecked out at the first hurdle. Thats our last 7 european games, Odense, Pana, Levante, and the 1st against Krasnodar we have shipped 13 goals and scored just 1, we just don't seem to be able to play in Europe. I know that we have been up against much better sides with huge budgets, but we never seem to make any progress. When we qualified for the Uefa cup and played Nancy in 2008 Europe was a huge boost to the club, our 1st taste of it in 12 years, and most well fans were happy just to Qualify. Now recently we are qualifying every year and i think we need to be progressing, just getting there is not enough now, we need to be aiming for the group stages.
