  1. Sounds like a real winner, hospitallity for a pre season friendly, i hope the buffet is sale or return.
  2. Why do people get all emotional when there is talk of moving from Fir park ? Its about improving the facilities, not just for the paying public, but for the team as well, better facilities means more revenue oportunities, which means more money for the club, ie one more step on the road to financial security and more funding to develop and possibly but better players. And the last time i checked the Craig site is still in Motherwell, so given the choice of a souless concrete oval with good catering and bars, or an out of date stadium, crap seats, and ocasinally wading through streams of pish then a move to the Craig gets my vote
  3. +1 he was poor, the fact that Celtic dumped him and he is now hawking himself round the lower leagues say's it all about his ability. If he goes to Hibs its good for us, 1 more crap player in a crap team thats falling apart at the seams, less to worry us when the season starts.
  4. Lets be honest Fir park is not the best, 4 stands all different sizes, seats in the POD that were state of the art in 1950 ffs, dodgy toilets in the East Stand, poor catering facilities, no car parking, a suspect pitch, limited scope to utilise the stadium for other commercial activities. Yes its time to move on Sell FP and move up to the Craig site, build a proper footie stadium , ie enclosed Oval, close to the pitch etc Almondvale at livingston is a good example. The site could be developed to include commercial and leisure outlets, plenty of car parking, there is even going to be a new Rail station up there. Motherwell are advertising themselves as " Scotlands community club" this would be a chance to build an asset the whole community could use and be proud of.
  5. +1 from me as well, that fud Casagolda must go down as the worst ever
  6. They should be in a thread of their own, " Alleged SPL junkies, rapists and Paedos season 2011-12" . Well maybe not Wallace
  7. I think a lot of people are missing the point with this scheme, the current board are not that naive to think that this will generate enough cash to run the club year after year, i would love to be wrong but it wont happen. Its about getting the Fans and the wider community involved with the club by becoming members, shareholders, friends, call them what you like. For a financial outlay and an ongoing committment year after year you are buying your own small stake in the club, it might not bring any great financial reward to you but you will have a voice and a say in how the club is run, to me as a lifelong well fan thats a great idea. It needs to be kept in the media as much as possible especially locally, so if that means dribs and drabs of information then so be it, this is a great chance for motherwell to show how a club can be run and involve the ordinary fans as well as the big corporate sponsors, we can take the lead in Scotland and be proud of it, so lets get as many people as possible onboard and signed up
  8. Agree with this, i support Motherwell end of, and of course Scotland when they play. Like 40 yarder i love to watch all levels of footie on TV but could not give a toss who wins if Motherwell are not involved or affected by the result.
  9. Grass is more bother than its worth get rid of it and get some Astro turf down, all it needs then is a quick hoover before the game, one of the office ladies could do that. So no need for a groundsman and the club saves money to spend on players, Simples
  10. If the figure quoted of £300 for the basic level of membership is accurate then only 1,000 people taking up the offer is 300 K raised add to that the Business and corporate investors and the 500 K or even more figure is achievable. Even for a small club like ours i dont think its an unrealistic target.
  11. +1 The millionaire benefactor approach does not fill me with confidence, they get bored, lose their cash, die etc and the club is left in a precarious situation, what happened to Gretna and nearly to us should serve as a warning. Football needs to be run and financed in a sustainable manner, ie clubs living within their means, so hopefully this scheme will ensure that motherwell are financially sound for the future.
  12. There has to be a few sensible posts in between all the shamless condemnation of the Chief exec by the Lip, just trying to restore some balance to the force.
  13. Maybe season tickets will be valid for the game ?
  14. The proposed scheme is not Leeann dempsters idea its a board decision, and i dont think that they will be rushing into any half baked ideas with the finances of the club. The one member 1 vote at whatever level of financial commitment you choose is a great idea, it will generate income but i dont think that the board are naive enought to think that it will solve all their financial worries. There will still be major inputs from sponsors, corporate clients, merchandising, TV money, advertising, gate receipts and ticket sales this is where the bulk of the funding will come from. The community ownership will give the ordinary fans a voice in return for a financial commitment which will be a bonus to the club in addition to their existing income streams, so how can that be a bad thing. If it works we may have a greater say in how the club is run, not in the normal day to day stuff or major decisions but in the decisions that directly affect the fans, ie ticket costs, club catering, stewarding, etc
  15. +1 he should never have been given a contract in the first place, how much money did the club waste on this Fud, that could have been better spent elsewhere.
  16. Whit Why would you want someone that bad anywhere near a football team, you could go to any ground and get thousands of guy's with a physical presence about them but who cant play football, Kenneth is in that category.
  17. All these players re-signing and deals done in June to bring in replacements is not our usual style, we normally have to wait until 5 mins before the transfer window closes and pick up the dross that's left.
  18. Because the specky fud in charge of Scotland used to manage Kenneth and thinks he is a good player, the same argument applies to Conway, and Goodwillie. I think the main criteria for a Scotland cap now is to have been involved at Tannadice.
  19. Fowler and Gloria what a strike force that would have been
  20. One member one vote and a move to a new stadium at some point it is then, should be interesting to see how it works out, ordinary supporters with a genuine say in how the club is run can only be a good thing, well done to Leeann and the rest of the board. 1 point though will the £300 for your share include your season ticket or maybe a free pie and bovril every game
  21. 2K a week is over £100,000 a year a very good offer if you have no job and looking for work as Porter is, so never say never.
  22. Bringing Hughes back would be a good bit of business if we can afford him. But as he has no deal at the moment he may feel a move back up the road is good for him and his family, so wages may not be a big issue. He was a top player last time with us and would be a good addition to the midfield, i.e someone who can hold the ball up and pick a pass out wide for Murphy or Humphrey, or over the top to Higdon.
  23. Why do we need a new kit every year whats wrong with the old one ? change the sponsor but keep the same design, or do what they done this year sell the tops without the sponsor . They would sell a lot more, why should the fans be ripped off to become unpaid advertisers for Cash converters !
