  1. As i understand it the old Rangers FC, (not the liqidated corporate entity but the football team that the corporate entity ran) are still members of the SPL and therefore entitled to a vote on any business. Legally it has no players, no ground etc but it is still a member club in name only.
  2. Small squads are better, they are more focused, with no room for passengers or dead wood...we are a lean mean football machine.
  3. Why Kilmarnock ? there are no clues in the article
  4. He does not look like the partying type, he must have been led astray by some of the other reggae boyz...
  5. The SPL bottled it as we all knew they would, they were shit scared of upsetting the blue ugly sister...sporting integrity...they are having a laugh. So the message is clear Lie, cheat, dont pay your tax on time, spend other peoples money, and run your club not giving a toss about other teams..but dont worry when it all goes pear shaped, just ditch the old club and all your debts and we will welcome you back as a newco, with no punishment. They should hang their heads in shame, To paraphrase Burns "bought and sold for TV and comercial gold, such a parcel of rouges in an organisation"
  6. +1 for me with that , top would be perfect without the "cash converters logo"
  7. Why would i be having a laugh ?? i am assuming the city clubs you are referring to are Hearts / Hibs , Dundee untd and Aberdeen, although technically there are now 5 as Perth is now a city, so St Johnstone are in there as well. from those 5 only Hearts and Dundee untd are likely to be any good, Aberdeen and Hibs are dross with no money to spend to improve and St Johnstone without Sandaza and a few others will struggle next year. Apart from the 2 ugly sisters the next best 3 teams (in no particular order) are Dundee untd, Motherwell and Hearts and will probably be that way for a few seasons. As it stands in Scotland the top 4 get Europe, top 5 some years depending on Cup winners etc, so all i am saying is that Motherwell are good enough to compete for a top 5 finish.
  8. No dilemma for me, this might be the one and only time in my life that i can go to watch Motherwell away in the champions league, so i will be going, (my personal preference would be Kiev). Lets be honest we are likely to be Europa league contenders most years in the SPL so there will be lots of away trips there as we have seen in recent years. But this is the premier club football tournament in the world and for Motherwell to be in there is something i never thought i would see, so i will be there
  9. Higdon's overhead kick v Hibs for me, pure class
  10. Still looks as though he has plenty room on his arm to score out champions league and get Europa league added. Surely strong drink or other mind altering substances were involved in that decision to get this done
  11. +1 was at both legs myself , Katowice must have had the cheapest Vodka on the planet then !!! another missed opportunity in the home leg, should have won 4 or 5 nil that night.
  12. Just to further complicate things, if Chelsea win the Champs league then, the portuguese and Russian teams, ie Braga and Spartak will be moved up to the CL playoff round, so seedings will change.
  13. All the match details, possible opponents, draw dates etc for champions league can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_UEFA_Champions_League we will get the runners up from Russia, Ukraine, holland, Turkey, Greece, Denmark, Belgium, Romania, or the 3rd place from Portugal. So no need to worry there then
  14. Only been on the club charter once...for the 1st ever euro game for well in Katowice in 91. They tend to be more expensive but for somewhere thats difficult to get cheap flights, ferry's or trains to ie Russia or Ukraine or Romania then its a better option...
  15. 16 goals so far...he was brilliant tonight.as were most of the team..mon the Higdon
  16. The deal is done..the current buns will do the business tomorrow mmorrow
  17. The atmosphere in the south stand side of the POD yesterday was excellent, with none of the Celtic Fans spouting their sectarian bile right next to us, well done to MFC for finally listening to the thoughts of the fans . I only hope that this arrangement is permanent, Motherwell fans should come first. Give the ugly sisters supporters the south stand only, thats what it was built for.
  18. Some people need to get a grip FFS, we are in pole position for 3rd place and a Champions league spot, yes we are having a bad run just now, but we will get there, SMC is doing a fantastic job, so stop talking pish and get right behind the team, 4 games left to secure a place in the Big boys playground next season. Mon the well
  19. Have to agree with this, Carswell was out of his depth in midfield never got to grips at all, looked lost for 90 mins. I thought Higdon was excellent he was winning more balls than he lost, lots of good headers and flicks on but nobody to take advantage, Ojaama should have started. Totally agree with previous posts that dropping Murphy has been a mistake, yesterday he should have started Midfield, instead of Carswell playing behind Higdon and Ojaama (who should have been on for Daley). This would have given us a bit more of a threat up top against a second string Celtic defence.
  20. The new £80 million 5 year deal agreed between the SPL and Sky starting season12/13 is dependant on both of the ugly sisters being in the SPL, they have negotiated a get out clause if this is not the case http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/301353-spls-sky-tv-deal-dependent-on-glasgow-clubs-involvement/? So no Rangers / Newco and the SPL's finances are fecked, companies like Sky see the ugly sisters as the only marketable asset in Scottish football. I dont know how much TV money Motherwell get per season but i would hazzard a guess and assume its a significant chunk of the budgeted income...so the SPL vote will be dominated by money concerns, Turkey's don't vote for christmas so the Blue ugly sister will get voted back in to the SPL. Of course all this assumes that they will be liquidated and not exit administration via a CVA.
  21. Lets be honest about this the SPL needs Rangers in it, so of course a newco will be voted in, with the financial and points penalties applied as appropriate, its all about money and nothing else. If Rangers / Newco were denied entry to the SPL and relegated to Div 3 then Sky TV would walk away, or offer a fraction of the money on offer just now. So apart from the loss of TV revenue, every other SPL club would suffer as well, in motherwells case the loss of around 5 or 6k ticket sales 2 possibly 3 times a season at £25 a time thats approx 200 to 250k lost income, not to mention catering / hospitality etc. So if that is repeated over the other 9 Clubs (celtic excepted) and combined with reduced or no Tv money then the SPL will lose tens of millions each year, at this time it has no sponsor in place for next season either !!! So yes Rangers / Newco need to be penalised but not at the expense of the other teams, which is what would happen if they were not in the SPL. I hope Motherwell vote yes to these proposals as they go a long way to protecting our clubs income and survival.
  22. Agree with this one, Remember its the team you will be appluading, not the Celtic fans,Whatever the view you have of the team they deserve to be champions, if motherwell were the champs we would expect nothing less. Give them fuck all to complain and moan about then get ripped right into them and produce another skippy Sunday to spoil their day.
  23. So you are not giving us much hope of making the group stages then !!
  24. We are in a great position, 5 clear with 5 games left. Celtic at Fir park next, they have already won the league so a few of the fringe players will be getting a game to get their totals up so they get a medal, so we have a good chance of beating them, our home record against the green ugly sister is reasonable. We will beat St J at home and Untd at home so i reckon we will finish on 62 or 63 points (assuming a point from Celtic and possibly hearts) The CL place is only ours to lose, but we will get there i suspect with a couple of games to spare.
  25. I think Saturday will be the time we end the Rangers Jinx, they raised their game to beat Celtic to stop them winning the league at Ibrox, but their season is F***ed, nothing left to play for, so they are there for the taking, 6 points from our next 2 games will see us over the line. St Johnstone are at Parkhead next, Celtic are looking to win the league, they will get pumped, if we can get to the split with the 8 point lead or better that we have now then we are sorted. Its time to believe and live the champions league dream.
