Totally agree taking this to the SPL is unecesarry bullshit, it would be weeks of arguments with no prospect of anything happening at the end, the two of them never had a contract end of. Brown and Knox are gone the club are over it, moving on and concentrating on finding a new manager and getting a bit of stabillity to the team, so the rest of us should get over it as well as its getting boring now.
-
I hope its not the team needs match practice and the sooner we pump them the better, what we dont want is for the game to be off and held over to the new year when they may be in better shape and harder to beat
-
If McGhee is willing to take the job on its merits and set about developing and building a team and forgetting about all the historical shite then he may be good for the club. The 1st time the well job was only a temp thing for him as he actually thought he was in with a chance of the Celtic gig. Maybe now with no distractions he may prove to be a good appointment. His record as a manager if you forget the Aberdeen fiasco is actually not too bad, but John Boyle will need to back him with some money to keep some of the experienced players we have and maybe get in another 1 or 2. There is a good core of promising young players at the club, so there is the potential to build a decent team if someone is up for the challenge.
-
I would not be too bothered either, we played some good football in his 1st season
-
John Boyle is allegedly still a fan of the mcGhee/leitch combination so it would not surprise me if the 2 of them came back, but given all thats gone on since he left i dont think it will happen.

I have to say i agree with this, Jennings had already been booked, so even if he did mouth off at the ref it should have been a second booking and then the Red card. The ref does not react at all until Jennings has gone past him and brushed his shoulder with his hand, after that he could not get the card out of his pocket quick enough. It was nearly a Paulo Di Canio moment. But i think we have the old "refs making the report fit their story" scenario, so its a straight red for abusive language, his word against the players and no hope of an appeal, it's Bullshit

I guess he forgot to place his bet online for the red card

We were beaten by the best team in the league just now, ok it was a preventable OG and a pen but Hearts knew how to shut us down, every time a well player got the ball someone was right in their face so fair play to them. We will finish top 6 and be in the hunt for a European place come May, if you look at the league table, Hearts are the only consistent team outwith the old firm, but we went on a similar run last season and that ground to a halt eventually. Inverness will not stay where they are, i think they will end up top 6 though. The Hearts game was a bad day at the office, we need to concentrate on Aberdeen now, my prediction of the final table is 1-Rangers 2-Celtic 3-Hearts 4-motherwell 5-Dundee untd 6-Inverness Mon the well

We all need to get right behind Celtic and the wee ginger bawbag and force some changes at the SFA

Please no, the man is a Fud

Watch the recording of the game, particularly the bits with the ref in them, thats good enough evidence for me.

A poor showing from Motherwell last night, the defence did not look comfortable all night, but we were manhandled and kicked off the park with no protection from an arse of a referee . Hearts were in our faces every time a well player got the ball and we could not deal with it, we did not get the ball wide enough, high balls to a defence as big as Hearts is hopeless, the few occasions we got in behind them we looked dangerous. Blaming individual players is nonsense, that was probably our strongest 1st 11 and they all tried and played some good stuff at times, but we were up against probably the best on form team in the country just now, Lasley's goal was the first hearts had conceded in over 5 games. I don't think we are going to finish 3rd this year but we are on course for 4th which will get us back into Europe. I dont think there were any bad performances last night, what dissapoints me though is that we did not make Hearts work for the win, 1 OG and a pen !! but considering that was our 1st game in over 3 weeks we done well. Best player on the park was Gow, his best performance in a well shirt so far, and a Keith Lasley goal !! that's a collectors item. Onwards and upwards, mon the well.

+1 I have been following motherwell since my first game at fir park in 1969 and apart from the odd cup game, European match etc our crowds have always been poor and they always will be. Thats because we suffer from where we are, ie far to close to Ibrox or Parkhead, though to be fair 99.99% of Celtic fans support the team on religious grounds so thats not an issue. We are never going to attract big crowds when each week thousands of fans travel from the local area to watch rangers. I have no problem with that its their choice on who they support, but we should be content with who we are and our identity as a club. Apart from the old firm and their Edinburgh cousins the only clubs who get higher average gates are Aberdeen and possibly Dundee untd so we are no different to the majority of SPL clubs. I have always said that it's easy to support a big team such as Man untd, Chealsea, Rangers, Celtic etc the glory hunters always have, but the real football fans are the ones who turn up week in week out at Motherwell, Albion rovers, Inverness etc, so we should be proud of who we are and who we support. Mon the well.

Steve Clarke has no experience in his own right, he has always been a 2nd in command and working with big name players and their big ego's at clubs with plenty of Money. He has no or very little experience of the game in scotland today. Motherwell need someone who can work on a very limited budget, with good contacts to unearth players that will do a turn for us, ie Humphrey, Coke, Jennings, Jutkewitcz etc as well as giving our young players a chance. The Motherwell team is young so they need experience to get the best from them, so i think we need to be looking at a manager with previous experience and a decent record, my shout would be Jimmy Calderwood.
-
I was watching Jimmy Calderwood on Sportsscene results last night and he was asked a direct question if he was interested in the job at motherwell, he could not have been more evasive or cagey with his reply, he never said he was not interested. Is a return to management for the 2 jimmy's on the cards ?? But being serious his record is not too bad, lots of experience, used to working with linited budgets, good contacts in the UK and Europe, he might be worth a try.

Why not advertise it some people might be thinking of getting one a a christmas present for a friend or loved one

+ 1 What a stupid fuckin suggestion

I hope its not the case but i have been watching Motherwell for to long and our record in games like this, ie teams needing a win etc is not good, so i am concerned about the game next week. Brown will know exactly how we are going to play, Aberdeen can't get any worse so the omens are not good . I sincerely hope i can post after the game and admit i was talking pish but i am worried. We have probably the most important 2 games of the season coming up, starting on Tuesday against Hearts, and then Aberdeen away, 2 wins will get the teams confidence and season back on track, and get it right up Brown as a bonus.
-
Why do some people on this forum seem to shoot their load every time Casagolda's name is mentioned ? He is a waste of space he was given a chance by Brown but has done nothing, he is either permanently injured, or just pish, the sooner we tell him to GTF the better and free up some money to bring in a player that might actually contribute something to the team.
-
They are all delusional arseholes who still think its the early 80's and they are a good team. The board got rid of arguably their most sucessful manager in recent times,Jimmy Calderwood after a string of , Aitken, Skovdahl, Patterson, Heggarty and the last one McGhee. They are a team going in 1 direction down, Brown may have some inital success and may even save them from going down, but i give him 18 months at best then he will be off as well. The Aberdeen fans and board deserve all they get and that will be nothing.
-
Blackman staying is a no brainer, but i think thats a bit harsh on the other 2, Gow has the potential to be a decent player he needs an extended run in the team, he has hardly been a regular for any team recently. Fitzpatrick is not the best but if he can stay injury free he can be a solid midfielder, with him in a mid 4 with Lasley, Jennings and Humphrey we can do well.
-
The best protest we can make to to get as many fans as possible up there, and give the team and whoever may be in charge great support to get it right feckin up that mob. They are shit and Brown and Knox wont change that They are not worth shouting at, onwards and upwards, Mon the Well
