  1. So what's your idea of " balanced middle ground" then?
  2. Forward thinking and ambitious costs serious cash, John Boyle tried that approach to make us the " third force in Scotland " as he put it and we all know how that ended. Football clubs are not normal businesses the successful one all have one or more very wealthy Individuals or companies behind them. At our level its a different world our average crowd is probably well under 5k, combine that with limited sponsorship, crap TV deals, etc and we don't have a lot of cash to spare so what we offer gets us the level of players we Currently have playing for us, but on those criteria we have done well over the years, top flight Football, cup win, euro qualification etc so we are where we are. If people want regular trophies, European group stage football, etc then unless we can persuade some multi millionaire to invest in the club its not going to happen. Bottom line we are a small provincial club suffering fan wise from our proximity to the ugly sisters which limits our spending power, but for me I wouldn't change a thing we've done allright.
  3. Depends on what Groningen want for him and how quickly they want to offload him, assuming that's the case. But if he is available this is maybe the time for us to throw some money at the deal, as potentiality getting him back in January could secure our season and get us back up to top 6 and European contention. Sometimes you need to speculate to accumulate, getting him back would be one of those deals.
  4. He might be on his way south soon if the rumours are to be believed, so glad we have him under contract. Scottish Gossip: Motherwell, Miller, Scotland, Celtic, Tilio, Rangers, Cifuentes, McCausland - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67454581
  5. I see Alexander's record with Claret and Amber is not getting any better, 2 games in charge at Bradford and 2 defeats.
  6. Behave yourself, he was decent in his day but his day has long gone, he's done as a top level keeper. No doubt a lucrative career in punditry awaits him.
  7. I'm not counting Hammell that was a nightmare I've convinced myself never happened. Any coach / manager we attract is limited as the decent coaches are all operating at a higher level than us, SK falls into the limited category as well its an easy job when the team is winning nobody asks questions so he will be judged how he handles the current situation and gets us winning and moving up the league or more losses and the threat of relegation. The January transfer window is massive assuming of course he is still in charge by then.
  8. Nah that's a bit harsh, Alexander might have had limited ability as a coach but I think he was a decent guy, Lennon is a champions league standard arsehole, GA is league 2😁
  9. Very true, because Lennon is an obnoxious wee ginger prick who would start an argument in an empty house, a shite coach and generally just a complete arsehole. So why would we want to appoint someone like that
  10. According to the super computer we are heading for mid table mediocrity and an 8th place finish this season, so no need for panic apparently 🙄 https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/super-computer-pinpoints-exact-celtic-31437050
  11. Things are not as bad as they seem Aberdeen getting pumped 6-0 today by Celtic means we move up to 8th so it's onwards and upwards to the top 6 😁
  12. What unfair advantage did Wilkinson get though? Did the ball trajectory after hitting his hand especially that close to him behave any differently to it hitting his chest or any other part of him especially as he knew nothing about it for me its no different. The rule is shite to start with and when it's forensically examined by VAR it gets ridiculous. Unless the hand/arm contact changes the ball trajectory and gives the player an advantage as a result ie if the hand is not in a normal position then goals like that last night should stand. The current handball rules are a feckin shambles.
  13. Your at the wind up but if not you should never post while pished or under the influence of recreational substances, as the shite above is the result
  14. Just watched the highlights two very good goals from us and Wilkinsons goal being disallowed was a joke his arm by his side, the ball played onto it by the StJ defender never a feckin handball, another VAR shite decision.
  15. Sensible posts like that will never catch on,
  16. Because that was the best offer we got for him, we could have stuck a £5 million price tag on him, but nobody would have paid it, the reported £700k was all he was worth. KVV was a 1 season wonder who no longer wanted to be at Fir park so we took the best offer and I suspect the only one we got for him, and probably made a profit on him.
  17. Failed managers at every level always get another gig eventually previous records etc count for nothing. Thats the way they operate big signing fee, guaranteed income whether they are successful or not, its good work if you can get it.
  18. They have just announced Craig Levein as their new manager on a 2 1/2 year deal, SK better be ready to face up to a 4-6-0 formation tomorrow.
  19. Aye doom and gloom your speciality, you could write his scripts
  20. Yes we sre shite just now but We won't get relegated.
  21. Shite is shite no matter how you dress it up the problem is the players we have are not up to the job Biereth excepted the clubs recruitment policy is the issue.
  22. So we bin SK and get another failed manager in, they still need to work with the toothless shite squad we have until January at least, how is that helping us
  23. Shite, it's feckin irrelevant when you score a goal as long as you score more than the opposition would anyone have complained if we'd beaten RC 4-3 or Aberdeen 5-4, no I think not.
  24. We're in the position we are now because we never dealt with the KVV situation correctly. The club knew he was going in the summer he did not want to stay etc so we should have been active recruiting and identifying targets from Christmas onwards. But because of the response SK got from the team etc that never happened and we were left scraping around the dregs of the transfer barrel to bring in the likes of Obika, Wilkinson, Souare, Bair, Shaw all dross in my opinion to replace a striker who gave us 30 goals in a season. And giving the aforementioned dross longer deals is another massive error, I don't know what recruitment system the club has in place but for me it's not fit for purpose and needs a radical overhaul.
  25. Spot on Dave, time keeping has always been an issue the single best thing Fifa / Uefa could do is copy American football and remove the timekeeping from the ref on the field, so when the game stops the clock stops etc that would stop all the blatant time wasting, feigning injuries etc.
