I hope he gets the chance to see if he can cut it at premiership level.
-
Yes money talks and bigger clubs can offer a lot more than us, but thats only part of the deal, as we all know the atmosphere at either of the ugly sisters is toxic, especially Celtic, so i agree i dont think JBA would move to parkhead. We all know he will move on eventually, but for me it will be to a club that aligns with his values or he gets a chance at a really big club, a category that neither of the ugly sisters are in. He is obviously very happy with all aspects at Motherwell both on and off the pitch, so he may see us as a longer term project, for domestic and European sucess, a Scottish Bodo Glimpt, so lets just continue to enjoy this season and see where we end up
-
We have 11 games to play, 33 points all of them massive games, win them all and who knows where we will end up. We have missed two big opportunities for sucess so far this season, so lets hope we can be the best we can be in the run in and maybe it will be 3rd time lucky for the biggest prize of all, coyw.
-
That all depends how it works out after the schedule has been manipulated to ensure the ugly sisters get a 19/19 split as usual, unfair is not a concept the SPFL recognise
-
So you be happy with a season of eye bleeding shit fest football, in a relegation dogfight, with below average players and coaching staff, to get 3 or 4 good draws against some diddy teams and get lucky in a final. Yes we win a trophy but we are still left with the shit football and relegation fights for the 10 or 20 seasons after that till our next lucky season comes round...aye ok then. Improving the club and team etc year on year is the way forward then we have more chances to win trophies and as a bonus we dont have to watch the shite we have been used to in recent seasons.

Some additional info on how unreal this season is for Motherwell, of the 158 clubs in Scotlands 4 divisions, and Englands 5 divisions (national league included) only 1 club has conceded fewer goals than us Inverness CT with 16, coyw 💪
-
Roma are top of that list with 16 conceded, claret and amber power.
-
Option B every time, lucky teams win cups, good sides playing good football, not losing many games or goals win leagues. Any team meeting those criteria every season will have more long term sucess than a team who got to a cup final by drawing lower rated teams all the way to a final, and get lucky.

Looking for. The SFA to do something is a waste of time, they will do feck all in case they upset the ugly sisters. Play acting, diving, cheating, simulation call it what you like has been going on for as long as football has been played, and it wont stop , if a player thinks he can take a dive, or manipulate a situation to win a penalty, get an opponent sent off etc they will do it. Motherwell can be all sanctimonious about it, make a stand by pulling Slattery up for it, go on about the integrity of the game etc, but the rest of the clubs will say nothing and behind the scenes piss themselves laughing. Its the authorities that need to deal with it, VAR could easily have overturned that red card on Saturday but they chose not to, the same way they ignore loads of othe blatantly wrong calls. So if the SFA / SPFL etc do nothing why should the clubs bother. As ie said before many times the governance of the game in Scotland is not fit for purpose, particularly re VAR and referreeing standards and until it is sorted nothing will change.
-
Becsuse it was the first one i saw that i felt the need to respond to, not because it was your comment, as i said before Slattery is more interesting than you, so wind your neck in.
-
Wind your neck in, nobody is calling you out, Slattery is more interesting
-
Ah KVV the alleged wife beater i was wondering the other day where he had ended up. Brilliant business from us offloading him for a profit before he became toxic.
-
I cant underdstand all this faux outrage at Slattery last night, if the match officials / Var team had been in any way competent the Red card would have been overturned and Slattery booked for simulation, diving, cheating etc but as the officials are all useless fuds he wasnt, so why blame the player, if it had happend at 0-0 to say win us a penalty and the game would we care, no chance we would. The officials had two major decisions to make last night and they made a James Hunt of both of them, Gogic was a red all day long and Kingstons wasnt even a yellow never mind a red.
-
🤦♂️ oh dear oh dear another straight red for that effort
-
Its 5 now yaaaaas

And your point is, how many of that list have been a premiership side for 40 odd years, finished runners up, played in the champions, Europa and conference leagues, etc etc. Stats can tell you what you like, and be tailored to suit any agenda, and as such are best avoided.
-
If results stay the way they are this afternoon then a win tonight all but secures our top 6 place and no relegation. As Aberdeen can only get a maximum of 49 points, Dundee untd could get 50, but we are currently 31 goals better off so they are not catching us.
-
Thats how i read it, it either of the ugly sisters win the cup, 3rd will get EL Q3, and 4th and 5th will get Conf L Q2.

2025-26 might turn out to be a very succesful season for us , no cup wins unfortunatley but depending on how far up the league we finish, what rewards can we look forward to? Just found this article on the BBC, due to the decline in Scottish clubs European results in recent seasons it is getting harder for scottish clubs to progress. How Scotland's European access will change As of final league positions Position 2025-26 2026-27 Champions Champions League PO Champions League 2QR Runners-up Champions League 2QR Conference League 2QR Scottish Cup winners Europa League 3QR Europa League 1QR 3rd place Conference League 2QR Conference League 2QR 4th place Conference League 2QR DNQ

Squad rotation is an integral part of the modern game, injuries and suspension apart some of the fringe players need reasonably regular game time to keep them fresh , its good player management. So i think JBA is doing just that he should know which players are the best fit for the team depending on the opposition and/ or game situation, it seems to be going well so far this season.
-
Referees are the problem, incompetent poor officials, who know they will face no sanctions irrespective of how they perform, they struggle with the normal rules of the game, so judgememt calls will be no different. Theve always been poor but VAR has made it worse its ruining football as we all saw last night, the whole set up is not fit for purpose.
-
Priestman and Gordon will be available for Saturday, suspensions only apply to the Scottish cup. That said Gordon wont play as Welsh will be back, so other than that JBA has a full squad to select from
-
Why should that be the case, thats like saying we are not going to try in the league as we want to win a cup. Success in any form is what Fans want, from league titles, cup wins, European qualification, group stage football, playing effective attractive football, etc to avoiding relegation. Yes other clubs have won trophies since our last success in 91, but we have been successful in other ways, fairly regular European qualification we have played in the champions, Europa, and conference leagues since 1991, been a premiership team for the last 40 years, so is one cup sucess for say St mirren in that period equal to what we have achieved as well, fo me no it has'nt
-
You can only judge what impact making 5 changes had if the game was 11 a side ovef the 90 mins. Down to 10 on 3 mins and 9 on 46 rips up any game plan JBA had so any critisicm is irrelevant.
