Lets be honest as Motherwell fans we should think that every player who has played for the club since 1886 is the greatest. But as we know thats not strictly true, so it would probably be easier to list the dross we have seen over the years. The criteria would also be easier ie "they were feckin hopeless as footballers" being the only one.

Therein lies the problem the other 10 Premiership clubs only look to their own self interests and are not going to rock the boat to address the issues. The premiership has the 11-1 voting criteria required before any changes can be made, which effectively means the ugly sisters can determine what happens and what does not to suit themselves. All of the other 30 clubs outwith the premiership dont really care what goes on as they dont have to use VAR, never play the uglies, never have to deal with the stadium damage etc, so they dont get involved Until the premiership clubs, mainstream media, Scottish Government, police Scotland etc start calling out these issues, nothing will ever change. The SFA / SPFL blazers will continue as the cozy wee self interested clique it is, travelling the world on their expense accounts desperately trying to get their big teams to like them.

Most people feel the same but the mans an obnoxious prick as soon as he joined Celtic his previous career did not exist, as a member of the 91 team he should be a club legend, but going full darkside and turning into a fud in doing so means he should be nowhere near the list.

Very difficult to do, its nigh on impossible to compare players in the last 10 or 20 years with those from further back as they played a totally different game from what we see now. Style of play, tactics, player fitness, rule changes, fans expectations etc you cant compare like for like. Compiling the list is the easy bit thats just names, trying to rate them in any meaningful order is the hard bit, as asking "who is the greatest Morherwell player you have seen play?" Will generate wildly different answers depenfing on the age of who you ask, ie Hughie Ferguson, willie pettigrew, stevie Kirk, or Eli Just to name but a few.

You might be right Dave, i think if we had a target in mind and the deal suitable to all parties had been done etc then for me the club would have announced it, so there may well be issues. The Euro draw is in two days, we know nothing about any potential new players coming in or current players leaving, the competitive games start in just over a month from now, so i hope we will be ready in time.

I tjought we would have announced someone by now, the Euro draw is next week and the players are due back two weeks from now i think , so we need to get a manager in place asap.

New ideas, that would no doubt be telling the players of that era, they needed to train twice a day, 4 or 5 days a week, eat well , drink less etc. Ideas that were totally alien to players of that era, but are now expected as the minimum standard.
